Mondeo Neutral Newbie December 6, 2002 Share December 6, 2002 Yes, they have drop-in (replacement) mean same shape and size with stock filter, anther is the cone one, they also got that 57i with including the full kit inductions. How many power increase which depend car to car basic, normally will get another 5bhp. For spark plugs, please refer the "performance" colume's early posts, I think it has been discussed quite some times. Cheers
Jermy Clutched December 7, 2002 Share December 7, 2002 Any idea wat type of K&N filter i shld get for my Lancer GDI & how much does it costs? Thanks...
Mondeo Neutral Newbie December 8, 2002 Share December 8, 2002 Sorry that never have experience on Lance, may ask for other members.
Fabiaman 1st Gear December 8, 2002 Share December 8, 2002 Note that one drawbackon the K&N filters is that its tends to make the section right after the filter (dunno what you call it) oily and dirty.
Mondeo Neutral Newbie December 8, 2002 Share December 8, 2002 (edited) I have not seen yet. Too oily think whether they know how to oil the filter and proper procedure. Some of them wash and oil every 10kkm Edited December 8, 2002 by Mondeo
Chris_ck Neutral Newbie December 13, 2002 Share December 13, 2002 How about the noise level when using the drop in K&N filter compared to stock filter and the K&N cone type? I dun want my engine to sound really loud.
Vtim 3rd Gear December 14, 2002 Share December 14, 2002 For K & N drop-in, there will be a slight increase in the induction roar but still bearable, IMO . However, for the cone type, it will be loud
Chris_ck Neutral Newbie December 14, 2002 Share December 14, 2002 How come everybody wans fast and loud yet i wan fast and quiet engine (sigh)? Is there no solution to this dilema?
Madarmour Neutral Newbie December 15, 2002 Share December 15, 2002 As long as you keep the resonator, any noise level difference from the drop-in filter is negligible.
Vtim 3rd Gear December 15, 2002 Share December 15, 2002 I guess you can't have the best of both world
Vtim 3rd Gear December 15, 2002 Share December 15, 2002 If the resonator is remove, then there'll be less restriction in air intake . It definately helps in my lowly sprung cxxxxxc
Selespeed156 Neutral Newbie December 15, 2002 Share December 15, 2002 Hi, Forget about upgradin spark plugs, stick to stock. The "so called" best spark plugs like the iridium ones are so cheap these days; because they are only giving you negligable increment in whatever you were hoping for. Been playing with these "toys" years ago, and came to realise that they have not negligable effect on your car..... including cables. Go for the air filter replacement though. cheers. Madarmour Neutral Newbie December 15, 2002 Share December 15, 2002 I find by just removing the resonator, along with the K&N drop-in, there's less low end loss compared to the open cone filter.
Madarmour Neutral Newbie December 15, 2002 Share December 15, 2002 I still have 8 Iridiums sittin in the storeroom! BTW, there are no performance cables for our babe...........
Vtim 3rd Gear December 15, 2002 Share December 15, 2002 Yep! Happens to 33 16v before Revert from Cone back to Drop-in to reduce the loss in low end . So, I'm doing the same to my Civic ↡ Advertisement
