Hi ALL,

I am new to this forum. Just wondering how do you guys find the Wira 1.3?

Last saturday there was a promo for a Wira 1.3l at $38 999.

Isit a good deal??

How long more is it gonna be before the model will be phased out?

Cos i am thinking of gettin a car nearer to the end of the year!

Pls advise!

Thanks

Get it now.

Singapore is the only country, other than Malaysia, that has the 1.3l model.

General Elections coming soon, in Oct 2005, so its better to get your car now, as COE prices will be going upwards after elections.

You can get the car at this price if COE prices drop to S$15K, which is still possible.

Wira not going to phase out. It will still be in production, it only depends if the dealer still wants to continue selling the car.

Yes, you are right. Wira will still continue to be sold. But only S'pore and M'sia gets the 1.3l model. Elsewhere, only the 1.5l model is avail.

In M'sia, the Iswara (model before Wira) is still being sold in 1.3 and 1.5l versions.

The Malaysians claim the Iswara is more economical due to its lighter body.

Tks for the reply, mate! [sunny]

I am just curious about the car cos not much people are driving it.

1. What's the FC like?

2. Full tank is how many litres?

3. How much it would cost to mod the car? i.e change the rims, tyres etc??

Not sure if i should get this wira and drive for a few years and scrap it (if problem arises ) or get a japanese sedan, i.e lancer sport or uncle sunny... both abt 60k.

Know of anyone who has driven a wira for 5yrs or more? Any particular problems associated wif the wira??

Buy 1.5 or 1.3? which one more worth it?? [confused]

Wira was supposedly going to be phased out in MY to be replaced with the gen2. Before they did so they released the "Special (supposedly limited) Edition" Aeroback with bk, rims and some minor improvements. However demand was so good, that Proton decided to continue it for the time being. Also Malaysians have the perception that the early batches of the Gen2 prone to problems and since it also has a waiting list, many continued to buy the Wira, leading to continued production.

All these told to me buy my cuz there, dunno how much of it is accurate though. Here are some pics of his car, the SE ver [;)]

I understand the Wira is a very reliable car, but dont expect much more than a pt A-B car. Build quality is not very good, old engine technology but performance-wise the car has potential up north [nod]

Whichever you get, try to avoid the auto. I've driven the 1.5 auto above and felt it was quite underpowered [:p]

I got 12km/l from the 1.3 Wira rental car - that is with constant hard driving on 95RON petrol.

Fuel tank is 50 litres.

I did hear fo some rattling sounds with the older Protons.

Hard fight between Wira and Accent - both same price.

Wira - Spacious and cheap spare parts, but must use minimum 97RON petrol and above.

Accent - Better built quality but noisier engine and smaller interior. Can use 92 RON petrol.

I personally will chosse Wira over Accent. Driven both before and the main reason is space. I am 1.82 meter tall.

Proton > 3 years will star to rattle. But can be overcome but turning your ICE volume.

i drive wira1.3 yr 2001.

it came with mitsubishi ECU, FC by average 13.5km/L (light foot driver).

this car looks like "a cost down" car.

door trim is cheap, have u seen it?? [shakehead]

latest model came with siemen ECU, has worse performance and many problems compared with mitsu version: throttle body dirty, slower respond, higher FC and cant be tuned.

so, i dont recommend this car.
