RE :Jaguar Owners Servicing

Just serviced my XF at Wearnes and it took them 3 days to complete a servicing job! Anyone else has similar experience?

The service advisor mentioned that a few technicians left recently to start their own workshop that specialises in Jaguar and Land Rover. He added that they are the better technicians who are trained in the latest XF and XJ. Wearnes is definitely short handed.

Anyone has any idea where this new workshop is? Tried asking the service advisor but he refused to say more.

3 days??? Did they provide you a courtesy car during that period? Cannot imagine a standard servicing taking more than a day.

Servicing and replace brake pads. Service Advisor said they don't provide courtesy car for standard servicing.

Come to think of it, the prices charged is also on the high side.

I am comparing to my previous continental car which  I also serviced at the agent.

May I know how much they charge? I don't service mine in Wearnes at all.

PM the details to you.

Let me know if there are good alternative workshops out there for Jags.

My first 3 yrs servicing from Wearnes never took more than a day. They'll offer you taxi voucher.

Mine has just passed its warranty period, maybe good time to look for these outside workshops.

Visited Wearnes today for a punctured tyre. Was talking to the service adviser while i waited for my car. He sent me this picture which he said has been making rounds in Wearnes and it caught everyone in the company by surprise.

Anyone visited before?

After reading the post above, decided to check out Motor Edgevantage's website and facebook.

As their website shows mainly Porsche, I gave them a call to verify if they are able to repair Jaguar.

I went down last Saturday for servicing and noise issue.

Upon arrival, Yeo, the workshop supervisor suggested that we go for test drive and immediately he was able to tell me what was wrong with my XF.

He also showed me the fault which was detected on the Jaguar diagnostic tester. Yeo mentioned that they scan every car as part of servicing.

They were upfront in their approach and advised me to repair what was necessary.

Verified that the technicians were from Wearnes.

Waited for an hour and the repairs were completed.

Guys, I am considering a second hand Jaguar. But before I commit myself, I would like to know how reliable is the car? I am currently driving an Alfa Romeo, which to my surprise, car is still doing well :)

Jaguar is a niche brand like ur Alfa so opinion can be skewed bec the no of drivers are small unlike other conti like Merc and BMW

For sedans

If you are looking at XE, then a bit too early to tell bec the ingenium is new, but since XE is a newer car, statistically will give you less problems bec the oldest sec hand XE would still be less than 3 years old and maybe under warranty if under 5 year package

For XF, the current facelifted version and the previous version (after 2010-11) are much better and reliable than the old generation X type

other than wear and tear, not heard of any major issues based on feedback from a few workshops. Of course there are owners with specific problems if you check out the various online Jag forums, but this applies to many other car models

Importantly, make sure you have the full service record of the Jag you wish to buy and get a workshop inspection

Maintenance for old jag will naturally be higher compared to the spareparts of Merc and BM, but Jags like alfa are rarer, with nice sporty exterior and lots of power

Hi,

I am a Jaguar owner. I have been driving it for the last one and half years. I had some minor issues with the entertainment system and car camera and have tried booking appointments. The sad part is at the service centre nobody is bothered about customers as the service is fully booked all times. The appointment if changed the next appointment which will be available was a month later.

I find the customer service to be poor or not monitored as the staff does this to their convince.

I planned to travel Malaysia by road, therefore requested Jaguar service centre for a health check via WhatsApp. There was no reply. Then Then I called them, the voice mail messages were full. Then I called them by another number, and was informed that they would get back to me. No reply. Then I called and was told I had to book an appointment.

Nobody tried at least a little to accommodate me. I find the custom service to be ZERO!

My previous car was a Subaru, At MOTORIMAGE service centre, everything happen so quick and the service technician were always ready to accommodate or atleast offer an alternative. With confidence I was taken care of.

When I wanted to complaint the same email is given to me of the service center therefore the people who service the car would response to me. What a joke.

Wearnes service centre has failed me. What a disappointment in buying a JAGUAR with ZERO after service.

The staff themselves inform me that they did not have enough staff.

The pride of buying was given to us when buying and taken away with after sales service.
