Hyundai's new Santa Fe changes its face - somewhat
What constitutes a face lift?
Have you seen the updated Santa Fe here?
In all it's Korean glory, 8 out of 10 people I asked couldn't point out what was so different about the SUV from the last one.
A new set of headlamps and accompanying sculpted bumper brings the SUV closer in line with it's smaller Tuscon sibling and the company's design language. The rear gets changes as well but I can't really tell the difference between this and the last car so I'm not going to even try.
Technically and habitually brand's do go on to tweak particular design elements of their models and then proclaim them as face lifts to the discerning public. But don't we deserve more? We don't want a mildly changed bumper and subtle redesigns harder to pin point than a chicken on a chicken farm.
Not only is the outside nearly the same as the last car, the insides are exactly the same! It's still a tad sloppy in movement and the suspension on the Santa Fe floats over bumps and mumps on the road and gets floaty and bouncy when on b-roads.
Kinda disappointed with the facelift...expected a bit more from the guys at Hyundai then just a re-chisel. Anyone knows if the model is up for replacement?
