Porsche is seriously considering a production version of the 918 Spyder which was shown as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. According to CEO,Michael Macht, the public's response to the 918 Spyder concept was marvellous.

The 918 Spyder is a concept car slated to be the successor of Carrera GT. Its size is not as large as a true supercar, but its performance is no less spectacular. Mid-mounted in the chassis is a high-revving 3.4-liter V8 derived from Porsche's endurance racing car, the RS Spyder. It is said to produce 500 hp at 9200rpm in road trim, and that occurs at a record-breaking 9200 rpm. Complementing the V8 powerplant is a small lithium battery pack (housed between the seats and the engine) which powers two electric motors. They combine to develop another 218 horsepower and regenerate energy to recharge the battery during deceleration. The concept is able to achieve a top speed of 198mph and reach 60mph from halt in 3.1 seconds. Power is delivered to the rear axle via a 7 speed PDK transmission.

Should it be given the green light, the 918 Super Hybrid Spyder would go on sale within the next five years.

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post. But as we know, it isn't an option to begin with – no thanks, of course, to our lack of land space.  Someone also pointed out that the idea of tiny houses is "romanticised" – which, I don't deny (but hey, that's why it's a dream). While it's clear tiny houses aren't going to work out here, the concept of 'tiny living' is; not just physically but also mentally. Anyone who has lived enough years lo
