Upcoming all-wheel drive Mercedes-AMG E63 to have 'Drift' mode
Taking a leaf from Ford's much lauded Focus RS, Mercedes-Benz's upcoming E63 AMG is likely to get a 'Drift' mode. As reported by Motoring, AMG boss Tobias Moers confirmed that the car "will be very fast and will have a drift mode". We reckon it is unlikely to be named "Drift" mode though.
Said to have the ability to send 100 percent of the power to the rear wheels, the all-wheel drive E63 should make traditional AMG purists happy still with its ability to do burnouts and drifts. Yes, with an estimated 600 or so horses coming from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, it is quite likely the next E63 AMG will not be available in rear-wheel drive. Adding on, more than 90 percent of the E63s in Germany is sold with all-wheel drive.
