Uber to announce more details on its flying car project
More information on Uber's flying car plans will be revealed at its annual summit which will be held in Dallas this week. Travel times are expected to fall greatly.
As reported by City A.M, the summit will allow the company to build awareness for its aerial technology and is spearheaded by Mark Moore, an advanced aircraft engineer that worked for NASA for 30 years. Moore was known to have caught the attention of Google Chief Executive Larry Page after publishing a paper about the feasibility of electric aircraft in 2010.
Uber's flying car program, which is dubbed Uber Elevate, will allow its users to get to places via 'vertiports' using Vertical Take-off and Landing aircraft (VTOL). Uber claims that these aircraft will cut travel time greatly as they are able to travel independently of a specific path, unlike buses and trains.
