Jaguar wants XE SV Project 8 to break 'Ring record
Jaguar's special model, the all wheel drive 592bhp XE SV Project 8, is aiming for the four-door lap record in Nurburgring.
According to Autocar, a team of development drivers have been seen at the track testing the car and they are aiming to lap the German track in less than 7:32 minutes. The current record holder is Alfa's Romeo's Giulia Quadrifoglio.
Strictly limited to only 300 units globally, the Jaguar wants the record on their hands before the first customer deliveries.
The XE SV Project 8 is powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 and is paired to a eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and is Jaguar's fastest-accelerating model with a century sprint timing of 3.3 seconds.
