Proton's X70 SUV gets between 200-300 orders a day
Proton's recently launched X70 SUV is doing well, with around 200-300 bookings a day. It was launched officially on 12th of December.
As reported by Paultan.org, Proton's CEO Datuk Adbul Rashid Musa told Malaysia's local publication, Bernama that, "Strong support has continued, and this has been the best response received by Proton for a long time.”
Over 15,000 orders have been taken for the Honda CR-V rival since its launch. It is based on Geely's Boyue SUV.
Prices for the car starts from RM99,800 (S$32.8k) and goes up to RM123,800 (S$40.4k). As a comparison, Honda's CR-V is priced around RM137,000 (S$45k)
Powering the SUV is a 1.8-litre turbocharged four pot that makes 181bhp and 285Nm of torque. It is paired to a six-speed automatic and is available in both all and two-wheel drive drivetrain.
