World-class precision driver Russ Swift will be in Singapore, on Friday, 5th November, to add to the highlights of the Mettle Games 2010. Here to enthrall motoring fans and enthusiasts, till Sunday 7th November, Swift will demonstrate his award-winning stunts and driving skills at the F1 Pit Building in Marina Bay.
Russ Swift is the holder of three Guinness World Records for making ten complete spins with a car in 16.07 seconds, parallel parking and J-turn. Swift currently holds an unbeaten record for the Parallel Parking manoueuvre which has remained his "trademark" to this day. The two-time British Autofest Champion and England's Autotest Team Captain in 1982 and 1983 is noted for his skill in parking in a space just 33cm longer than a car. In 2004, he set a Guinness World Record for making 10 complete spins or "doughnuts" in just 16.07 seconds, which translates to a mere 1.6 seconds for each complete spin.
"Subaru cars are designed for the versatility of high performance and practical driving. Having a formidable precision driver like Russ Swift to demonstrate integration of mind-blowing precision to everyday driving requirements, will surely bring a dramatic exhilaration to those at the METTLE Games 2010," said Ms Hannah Tan, Regional Marketing Manager of Motor Image Group.
The 59-year-old British will manoeuvre three Subaru models, Impreza 2.5 WRX-S, Impreza 1.5 R and Impreza 2.5 STI and will put up a thrilling showcase of daredevil stunts, including his popular "dance" routine. With his renowned perfect execution of tricky stunts in short time limits, motoring junkies and spectators can expect a weekend of adrenaline-pumping fascination.
In true Russ Swift tradition, lucky spectators at METTLE Games 2010 will get an exclusive invitation to experience stunt driving with this road daredevil as he takes to the wheels of a Subaru Impreza. Swift will be performing a total of 13 "Subaru Russ Swift Show", each lasting 30 minutes at F1 Pit Building, for the second weekend of METTLE Games 2010 which will bring together hundreds of action sports competitors from all over the world challenging themselves in 11 tournaments, world-class action sports professional demonstrators, and a rock concert featuring indie bands from the region in a contest, the likes of which has never been seen in Singapore.
