Waiting for cheap Motorcycle COE dream.

Just scrapped my old bike, and getting free $3500 from gov.

Will reinvest the free $$ in a brand new motorcycle.

So will be bidding for the bike Cat.D COE this week.

Cat.A might drop below $25,000 this time.

Last bidding was fuelled by the expo , I Guess it would be down this time round

Expo car show last month sales not as good as previous Apr version, most of potential buyers stay sideline and with wait-and-see approach. COE up last bidding due to clearing backlog and 3-week long bidding interval.

Everyone wishes to buy car with low low COE...when COE plunged a few K, you will see buyers rush to market again, because you never know whether COE will head south further. Yes quota increase for next few months, will this extra quota really enough for new car buyers?

If you thought of bidding COE $1000 this around with hope to get it, there will be always someone out there is willing to bid $2000...this cycles continue till last bidded amount.

The problem is, the customers or end users are not bidding for the coe themselves. If they have to bid it themselves, the value will be very different from the coe now. my guess is that it will be lower if they bid it themselves.

Yea to say that the dealers don't collude at any level is total BS. But then again gov happy, dealer happy business happy so they wouldn't care at all.

AD sell you a car with unknown profit margin. Best case is COE plunged a lot after transaction. let' s say hitting the COE cash rebate they set...then they make the most profit out of this transaction.

In contrast, they are still conservative enough to allow 2-3K COE increase without asking you to top up.

Buying a car without COE from dealer is tough...seldom AD will sell to you as they lose the opportunity of another source of profit due to COE fluctuation.

In some cases, they already have open cat coe on hand so they do know the profit margin, e.g. during the recent cars@expo some dealers already said this.
