  4. definitely not for all SME and all industries, I believe minimum staff of 50 then can do this, also definitely not for F&B and those with front desk service staff. But for the other industries the staff themselves know what they can push for, and employer also know this will be the norm and maybe adjust the package to 'discount' for such benefits.

    Sg Election 2025!

Truly.... I chatgpt to try understand the nuances of the statement... Indeed... Por max...
  6. I once viewed a unit in my estate that has about 20+ pair of shoes mostly sneakers outside the house. That's like on the floor and open shoe racks. I'm not even including shoe boxes. Me and the wife asked the agent, what is this? A rental unit with 7 or 8 tenants? They have 5 kids? The person is running a tuition center? No... They all belong to the middle aged owner of the unit. Wtf.
  7. redeem Krisflyer miles need to redeem early for savers to be more worth it , Advantage is almost 2 times more miles required ...
  8. Some cc use points that converts to miles so there is no expiry. I used to accumulate miles from biz trips but current job requires less travel. I'm not thinking of spending more for miles. It's just stupid and senseless. I'm thinking if I can get $50 cb every month and if the same amount spent that can claim miles which is higher than 50 bucks in terms of dollar value, it will make sense to change.
  9. Yup yup. I'm locked in with them now. Another 2 months before I can get my deposit back.
  10. Fiduciary Responsibility.

    Sg Election 2025!

    Creepily north korean-esque.
  12. I suspect there are 2 hidden motives to such crowd pleaser initiatives. One, to please the younger electorate, just in time and good timing lah, so to speak. Two, flexi work hours actually enable moonlighting or part timing at another job more easily. Opens a door towards getting more income and helps a bit to alleviate high cost of living, a real problem now.
  13. Actually companies no need to worry too much. It's just a wayang, after all, in the original announcement of the move, govt already gave a playbook of how such requests can be legitimately rejected. Already have 10-year series answer there. This kind of Flexi work arrangement can only fit individual contributors who are responsible for concrete deliverable like a product or project. And these people, professionals or specialists , will work all hours and odd hours anyway, it doesn't make a difference. Because they are held accountable for the end result. But for jobs that need liaising with others, administrative roles etc. the most flexibility can be granted is an hour later, an hour later, kind of thing. Such employees if they want to start late and work till 7pm-8pm is meaningless because who will work with them at those hours?

  16. Please don't play with fire. It will be misery for you the remainder of your natural life. 🤣 You'd rather even run bare foot than throw away 1 pair of her shoes. 😆
  17. Looks like an inspiring movie.
  18. @Voodooman True story. UK's wind can generate a lot of power. But no one installs small wind plants to generate power. I only saw one store having something like this. Still, people tend to install solar plants to cut bills. Besides, there are cars that can run on solar power. But there are no cars that can run on wind power.
  19. I think it is also each person's personality as well as your spending habits lah ... no right no wrong. For me, I am quite conservative in my spending (aka ngeow cheeh 😆 dio boh @Mkl22?), my monthly giro for income tax payment is more than my monthly total credit card expenditure....so to clock those miles and to keep track to make sure they are redeemed without expiring over years of accumulation does not make sense. My job also do not involve travelling for business, so cannot accumulate miles from there as well. In order to take advantage of the higher dollar value of miles, I do not think it makes financial sense to deliberately spend more than your usual lifestyle just to accumulate those miles. Just my 2 ngeow cheeh cts.😁
  20. https://mothership.sg/2024/04/singaporean-woman-killed-in-spain-suspect/ S'porean woman's alleged killer appears in Spanish court A Singaporean man suspected to have been involved in the killing of a fellow Singaporean, Audrey Fang, 39, in Spain, made a public appearance after he arrived in court in Murcia. He was taken to court at 9:20am (Spain time) on Friday, Apr. 19. This corresponds to 3:20pm Singapore time. The deceased woman's brother and two other relatives attended the hearing in Cieza, Olive Press reported. They arrived in court with an interpreter. The family’s lawyer, Manuel Martinez, is asking for the Singaporean suspect to be sent to prison ahead of trial. The Singaporean suspect has not been officially named yet, and the details of the case are still being kept secret, Olive Press also reported. Only his age has been revealed to be 40 years old. Speaking outside the court, the lawyer said: “The family are obviously in shock. They received terrible news in a country far away from home. They need the most moral support.” About the case Fang was allegedly stabbed more than 30 times after she left her hotel in Alicante on Apr. 9 and was reported missing by her family subsequently. Her family last spoke to her on that same day she last left the hotel, which was on Apr. 10 Singapore time. Fang was spotted on surveillance footage walking out of the hotel alone at around 8:45pm. Her body was found 150km away in Murcia on Apr. 10 (Spain time), and she was only identified almost a week later due to a lack of personal documents on her. Her belongings were all left back at the hotel. The victim had checked into a luxury hotel in Javea on the Costa Blanca on Apr. 4. She had travelled to Spain alone. She was scheduled to check out on Apr. 10. She was supposed to fly back to Singapore from Barcelona but did not make the journey to Catalunya. When she did not arrive back in Singapore on Apr. 12, her family made a police report and approached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for help. Spanish authorities only positively identified Fang's body on Apr. 17, a week after she apparently went missing. This was also after her family in Singapore had put out appeals for information on Fang. Going to Spain was not her first time travelling solo, it was previously reported. Family and friends remember her as "kind" and smiling.
