  4. MB released S320 a few month ago. BMW launched 730Li this month. These are scaled down/tuned down versions of their S400 and 740Li respectively. I think they both retain a 3 litre engine. Are the savings from S400 and 740Li respectively worth the while given the lower specs? Any comments on which is better?
  5. Yeah my a8 last time fc ard 10km/l and pump v power 11 yrs ago for about $210 before discount its very fuel efficient and bmw 730li ard 6km/l
  6. The registration number currently registered on the B.M.W. 730LI as of now 17 October 2021, 11:19 PM.

  8. Trying to revive this post. Anyone recently got the new FL W213? I took delivery of E200 1st July from PI's UK model "AMG Line" & have been enjoying the ride. It does lack quite a few stuffs compared to C&C units, but justifiable based on price difference. Lacking: 1.) No 360 camera 2.) No Soft closing door 3.) Cannot connect to Me app 4.) No Screens at rear (Sun protection package) 5.) No Asia Map-> paid $1400 to get the Map/Navi working 6.) No electric seats (Memory package) -> paid extra for PI to get this installed 7.) No keyless Go package -> PI installed this FOC but do not have electric tail gate But has extra stuffs that C&C Avantgarde unit doesn't have: 1.) Adaptive headlamp 2.) AMG body styling 3.) Sports Steering wheel (cool) 4.) 3 zone climate control (back separate settings) 5.) Blind spot assist (not 100% sure C&C has it or not) 6.) Heated seats (useless) As this is my first Merc (previous ride were Honda Odyssey, BMW 523i & 730Li), let's share our experiences (good & bad) of this car. As for me, I usually hate Start/Stop function, but this car is really smooth & even stop the engine (ECO mode) when you are "gliding" on expressway. I only managed to avg 14km/l (7.1l/100km) so far. Not so bad. But I feel the seats are a bit too hard & the ride is also quite hard. Hopefully, it will get softer as times goes by. That's all for today. Ciao.
  9. Yah 730li engine good, no issue no jiak engine oil. But for skoda superb got jiak you abit and a8 was worse, about 1L every 5k km
  10. My past bimmer and vw had this issue, but not the B52N30 engine from 730Li.
  11. IMO, never never go back to AD for service when you are out of warranty or no more service credit. Sometime, they are just too lazy to troubleshoot and They will over quote when you have problem. Incident Years ago: 1. C200 Year 2005 car. Car about 2.5 years and Under warranty by C&C. Whenever on traffic light or stationary for after about 1 min, aircon is not cold. i have to rev the gas pedal for the aircon to be blowing cold air. Send back 3x, yes 3x and problem not solved and they refused replace aircon coil or compressor. 2. BMW 730li no more warranty. While driving, steering column error and warning to stop driving and send to nearest BMW service centre. Was closed to kampong arang and send in the car for diagnostic. Service engineer quote $15K, change steering column electronics modules, change the comand computer centre. I ask my i-drive is not damange why need to change? He says its old software, i have to change. I challenge, why your system so lousy, even my old computer i can upgrade to new windows without changing it. I made a big noise in BMW germany and was manage to get apology email from the local dealer. From $15K, i did a repair outside for $1200 only with new original parts. Since then, never believe the AD on repairs. Cars nowadays are easy to diagnostic. Spare parts are abundant unless you drive sports car. Cheers.
  12. I test drove the G11 740Li and the 730Li a few months back ago. The 730Li with the 2.0 252hp, performs like a 5-series. It almost had me believe I was even driving a 3-series! The 530i as I was told, would handle & drive like a 3-series. The power & torque on the 740Li is IMMENSE. ENDLESS... Ran out of road near the Auto Bavaria center in Malaysia - the power delivery is so smooth.
  13. Any towkay interested? New and updated engines with up to 25 percent improvement in fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions. BMW Asia today launched the new BMW 7 Series – the flagship BMW model that embodies sporting elegance, refined powertrain technology and luxurious comfort in equal measure – which is set to reinforce its position as the most innovative sedan in the luxury segment. "The new BMW 7 Series is now equipped with an impressive spread of chassis wizardry that helps give the ride-comfort a noticeable boost. The new 750Li and 740Li which now feature new engines and drivetrain, not only enjoy significant performance enhancement but up to 25 percent and 21 percent in fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions respectively. Meanwhile, the new BMW 730Li is faster and more efficient with up to 11 percent increase in fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions," said Mr Neil Fiorentinos, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia. "Apart from that, the new 7 Series now comes with an enhanced BMW ConnectedDrive portfolio which includes impressive new features that strive to improve our flagship limousine‟s overall safety, convenience and infotainment features." "BMW ConnectedDrive is a clever link-up between driver, car and the outside world to make things more safe, convenient and informative. The technically superior Connected Drive features found in the new BMW 7 Series offer an unrivaled combination of driver assistance systems and mobility services that are designed to further strengthen our flagship limousine‟s offering and elevate its position in the luxury segment," added Mr Fiorentinos. Connected Drive: Anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant with intelligent control. The BMW 7 Series is now available with Adaptive LED headlights which provide a further safety boost when driving at night. The bright white light it emits illuminates the road ahead with an exceptional intensity. Together with High-Beam Assistant technology, Adaptive LED Headlights with cornering lights, as well as variable headlight distribution, continue to represent the ultimate in lighting technology. The Anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant in conjunction with Adaptive LED headlights ensures that the driver can enjoy optimal visibility at all times without having to switch manually between high and low beam. The dazzle-free high-beam assistant regulates the main beam of the headlights for optimum illumination of the route and thus reduces the burden on the driver. When the system is activated, an image sensor on the inside of the front mirror monitors the lighting conditions and the traffic ahead at a distance of up to 400 metres. The feature uses these sensor images to determine the strength of the high beam and varies it seamlessly. Meanwhile, oncoming traffic is registered at a distance of approximately 1,000 metres. A mechanism in the headlight specifically covers points in the high beam and dynamically aligns it to rule out any risk of dazzling. Connected Drive: New-generation Navigation System Professional: 3-D display and control. The latest-generation Navigation System Professional is compelling at first glance for its revised design and honed operating system. The tried-and-tested menu navigation has been consciously retained and augmented by further functions. The user interface has benefited from a complete graphic revision and now comprises 3D elements throughout, while the entire architecture of the individual menus is now presented in virtual, three dimensional spaces. Thanks to its 1.3 GHz processor and dedicated 3D graphics card, using the system with its high-quality animations and dynamic transitions is an experience, supported by imagery boasting unprecedented levels of contrast and brilliance. Efficient Dynamics: New ECO PRO Mode with coasting mode. The new ECO PRO mode with the addition of the coasting mode, and proactive driving assistant functions, helps the BMW 7 Series driver to maintain an extra-efficient and economy conscious driving style. The new coasting mode, in particular, has been designed to decouple the combustion engine when it is overrunning at speeds between 50 km/h and 160 km/h. In coasting mode, the new BMW 7 Series is subject to a far lower rate of deceleration as it freewheels along the road with no engine braking effect and minimal fuel consumption. This way, the kinetic energy built up by the vehicle can be harnessed and – through forward-thinking driving aided by the proactive driving assistant – translate into fuel savings of up to five percent. The coasting function is clearly visualized for the driver‟s benefit in the multifunctional instrument cluster and the central Control Display, and can also be deactivated if desired. BMW 750Li: Eight-cylinder engine develops more power but burns less fuel. Making its debut under the bonnet of the BMW 750Li is an upgraded BMW TwinPower Turbo eight-cylinder petrol engine with two turbochargers, Valvetronic, Double-VANOS and High Precision Direct Injection. The 4,395 cc eight-cylinder powerplant retains the impressively smooth assurance and spirited power delivery of its pre-update days. However, optimised high pressure direct injection and reduced charge cycle losses – thanks in the main to the seamlessly variable control of intake valve lift – have pushed its performance potential to a higher level than its predecessor and substantially reduced its fuel economy and emissions. In its latest development stage, the engine generates peak output of 450 hp (+ 10 percent) and unleashes peak torque of 650 Newton metres (+ 8.5 percent) between 2,000 and 4,500 rpm. The engine teams up with the eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the BMW 750Li to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and progress on to an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h. The eight-cylinder engine belies its improved performance with better efficiency than ever; with overall fuel consumption of 8.6 litres per 100 kilometres and CO2 emissions recorded at 199 g/km, the BMW 750Li trumps its less powerful predecessor by a clear 25 percent. BMW 740Li & 730Li: Enhanced Power Delivery & Efficiency. The BMW 740Li has a 3-litre six-cylinder in-line engine that stands out with its majestic power and unparalleled high-revving character. The state-of-the-art powerplant is one of the first waves of highly efficient petrol engines to bring together BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, twin-scroll turbocharging, Double-Vanos variable camshaft timing and Valvetronic variable valve timing. The BMW 740Li is packed with 320hp with a maximum 450 Newton metres of torque on tap from as low as just 1,300 rpm. The BMW 740Li has also become quicker (+5 percent; 0-100km/h at 5.7 seconds), more fuel efficient (+21 percent; 7.9 litre/100km) and environmentally-friendlier (+21 percent; 184 g/km CO2 emissions) compared to its predecessor. The BMW 730Li, meanwhile, is equipped with a proven 3-litre straight-six petrol engine as before. Now with the new eight-speed automatic transmission, the BMW 730Li has similarly become faster (+4 percent; 0-100km/h at 7.5 seconds), has better fuel efficiency (+11 percent; 8.7 litre/100km and lower CO2 emissions (+11 percent; 202 g/km) against its predecessor working with a six-speed transmission. Exterior Design: Stylish appearance. The large, full-width air intake dominating the lower section of the modified front apron is now split into three sections, a pair of chrome bars marking its outer sections and adding further depth to the car‟s sporty looks. Two narrow vertical air intakes sit beyond even the LED foglamps to the left and right of the wide intake. Adhering to the Efficient Dynamics philosophy, these are included as part of the "air curtain" technology, which lowers fuel consumption at higher speeds by forcing the air to flow more aerodynamically around the front wheels. Interior Design: Exclusively luxurious. The optimum interior soundproofing of the BMW 7 Series takes the on-board experience another step towards perfection. Additional insulation materials in the B and C-pillars, skirts and boot area team up with intricate sealing around the window frames and exterior mirrors to minimise driving noise. All of which bring the sound experience generated by the new Bang & Olufsen High End Surround Sound System even more powerfully to the fore. The 1,200-watt music system is hooked up to 16 speakers, some of which are positioned behind illuminated, satin-finish aluminium grilles sited in the mirror triangles of the doors and the parcel shelf. The most attention-seizing member of the speaker line-up is the illuminated centre speaker which extends out of the instrument panel and uses B&O Acoustic Lens Technology. Its distinctive form guarantees perfect sound quality in every seat. When the music system is switched off, the centre speaker retreats back into the instrument panel almost without trace. Meanwhile, the new ambient lighting for the interior creates a pleasant ambience, especially at night. Footwell lights for the driver and front passenger and indirect roof liner illumination via lights integrated into the B-pillars further enhance the feeling of well-being. The colour of the ambient light can be altered according to taste. The new BMW 7 Series will be available at Performance Motors‟ showrooms from 5 October 2012 Source : http://www.cheryl-tay.com/the-new-bmw-7-series.html
  14. 640i GC costs slightly more than 730Li and slightly less than 740Li. The above all have a 3-litre engine, but 640i (whether GC, coupe or convertible) and 740Li have a newer twin turbo engine, whereas 730Li has the old NA engine found in previous generation 630i. Taking engine, size, style and stature into consideration, what is your preference? Personnally, I prefer 640i GC.
  15. Good day fellow brothers. It's been long guys. Hope all of you are doing fine ;) I wanted to know, anyone here is driving the Jaguar XJL 3.0 SC? I'm looking at getting one as it's quite attractively priced in the used market to replace my ageing F02 730Li. However, since it's quite a "niche" brand, not too sure about the wear and tear, plus the parts availability. Was looking at the S400 too, but depreciation still too much for me to swallow. Would appreciate valuable input as it would greatly assist in me making up my mind. Thank You
  16. Mercedes did away with the L after renaming their models to start with the model name alphabet (300SEL vs S320). Only BMW have the L (730i vs 730Li) and probably on long wheelbase models in mainland China (where even Audi A4 got long wheelbase known as A4L).
  17. Hi guys, Got a BMW 730Li due for scrap / export end Oct 2017. Anybody any idea how much it's likely worth? Thanks in advance.
  18. Sorry beg to differ, after tested drive the 730Li and facelifted S300L, ride, road noise and cabin insulation 730Li win S300L anytime. Only one thing S class win which is the design and of course the branding more prestige
  19. My G30 530i M-Sport when it's confirmed is Malaysian registered, bro. Auto Bavaria does not have the Luxury variant. Standard is the M-Sport spec. I did all my homework since putting down my booking fee for the G30 back then in January. Earlier I booked the X5 F15 40e-Drive (it's still the 2.0 turbo engine mated to an electric motor), when I spoke to my tuner of Millennium Motorsports Asia (renowned Microtech tuner), and as I already have a pickup truck (a Ford Ranger 3.2 Wildtrak and a Mazda CX-5) I don't need another SUV. Hence I changed my booking to the G30 in January of this year. At that time, there was almost ZERO interest in the G30. Everyone didn't bat an eyelid & booked the X5 40e-Drive for RM388K. I was at the pre-launch at Cyberjaya on the 19th Mar, and I even had to "explain" to the other potential drivers how to use the gesture control, and explain some technicalities of the G30. It's an impressive car, having driven the G11 730Li and the 740Li. Like we all agreed, the specifications on the 530i M-Sport registered at MY differs from that being brought in by PML SG. One thing is for sure; there are about 200 CBU units for MY market, afterwhich it will be "locally" assembled in the BMW plant in Kulim. 30% of the content will be localized; the leather seats one of them. Do not expect the sun-roof in the local CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model. I much prefer the CBU (Completely Built-Up) fully imported 530i M-Sport as I know that there is a difference between CBU & CKD. Malaysian spec 503i M-Sport has/does not have: - Dakota leather seats (not Nappa leather) - It appears to have lumbar support, but the thigh support is by manual activation only, not electronic - Does not have soft-closing feature (may be a blessing, as I was told if it kaputs, it's a RM20K repair cost in the future) - Does not have front view camera (live camera) - Does not have 360 surround view (but has rear view live camera) - No HUD (the facelifted F10 CKD had HUD) - Rear wheel drive only (X-Drive variant Not available) - Full Active 12" LCD Instrumentation display - Adaptive Mode alongside Sports/Comfort/Eco Pro - Sun-Roof - Rear detection collision warning (activates the Hazard lights) - Active Grill - Adaptive LED headlights - Display Key (but no Remote Parking function) - 4-zone Digital Climate Control with B-pillar side vents for the rear passengers - 16 speaker, nine channel Harman Kardon sound system - 19" 664M Alloy wheels with double spoke staggered 245/40 front, 275/35 rear - 4-pot M-calipers for the front, 2-pot M-calipers rear - Pedal shifters - Wireless phone charger (for iPhone, requires to be inserted into a "sleeve" - unsure if it's supplied with the car or have to be purchased seperately, I was told it car would come with ONE sleeve) - 5 years Unlimited Mileage warranty with FULL 5 years service (tires have a 2 year guarantee) - BMW Connected The 540i M-Sport will be available in MY, albeit in very LIMITED quantities. Pricing expected to be approx RM545K or approx S$176K. It will be rear-wheel drive version only, not the preferred X-Drive variant. This excerpt taken from another site: The optional Adaptive Drive system, which combines Dynamic Damper Control, provides unsurpassed dynamics and comfort. In contrast to the previous active roll stabilization system, the anti-roll bars are now no longer actuated hydraulically but by means of electric swivel motors. The new system is fast-acting and precise, is lighter overall in weight and is much more frugal in its energy consumption. In addition to enhancing the driving dynamics of this sport sedan, active roll stabilization also improves comfort in driving, by actively countering bump disturbances affecting only one side of the car. On winding roads, the new BMW 5 Series Sedan offers even greater precision and agility that makes for excitingly nimble handling whenever sporty driving is required. By automatically adjusting to a wide range of driving conditions, Adaptive Drive enhances handling safety and stability, and provides excellent suspension comfort. In the new Adaptive Mode, the steering, Dynamic Damper Control and Steptronic transmission are automatically adapted to the driving style and, depending on vehicle specification, also to the route. The control logic reacts to inputs such as accelerator and steering commands, or gear selector position, to vary the powertrain and chassis characteristics between sporty and more comfort-oriented. Also, data supplied by the Navigation system Professional is used to proactively adapt the settings to take account of upcoming bends and intersections, or different types of road, such as highways or roads.
  20. Didn't get a chance to test the normal wheelbase 730i, Malaysia only had the 730Li. I'm sure the handling will be better for the normal wheelbase version. Test drove the 530i at PML yesterday. As we all know, the roads in SG are somewhat limited in terms of how much you can "speed" and/or accelerate. In that short run off Alexandra Rd -> AYE and back, I thought the new G30 530i to be very quiet and composed, power and torque surprisingly good, as we know the car is 100kg lighter than the F10. I had 2 passengers in the back, some more. EPS Steering felt over assisted at low speeds, unable to test higher speeds where it is supposed to be weighted. Sports Mode felt good, response sharpened, engine pulls willingly and it holds on to the lower gears longer. Love the Active Instrument Display. Fit and finish on the Luxury line felt disappointing. Loved the 540i with the Nappa leather seats though. That's crazy at $360K -> 540i. Didn't like the Luxury line. Prefer the M-Sport line which the 530i will soon be equipped with.
  21. if higher end luxury class, Audi A8 definitely win S300L and 730Li FC, proven based on my A8 experience and my friend who owned S300 and 730Li
  22. i intend to change my father ride from 730Li to a 7 seater SUV. x5 Q7 XC90 fortuner GL450 Land Rover Discovery btw, i am talking about the old USED cars to keep costs low. of these, which is the better one with reliability being highest priority. reason is because my father really really really hate a car to breakdown leaving him stranded. thanks for any input.
  23. Does IL6 really have better performance? BMW 523 and 525 are IL6 but have been replaced by 528 that uses a 4 cylinder turbo with more power. Even the new 730Li is also using the same 4 cylinder turbo engine.
