  1. Electric cars are known to be efficiency powerhouses, but how much can you really save? Charging an electric car will likely cost significantly less than filling up an ICE car with gasoline or diesel. But, how much can you save, and why is it cheaper to run on electrons than liquid fuel? Before looking at the price comparison, it's essential to understand that the lower ownership costs are not just about electricity versus gasoline prices. Here are some aspects of electric cars that yield lower overall fueling prices. Aerodynamics In typical gasoline cars, aerodynamics are essential but not typically of the utmost concern. Electric cars are different. Since batteries are the most expensive component in most EVs, they require a very slippery drag coefficient to maximize their range. As explained by AirShaper CEO Wouter Remmerie, a low drag coefficient is the key to allowing your EV to get the most amount of range. "If you double your speed, the aerodynamic force goes up by a factor of four," Remmerie told InsideEVs. Remerie estimated, "you can go 200km/h in a 200 horsepower sports car, but you need 1600 horsepower to go 400 [km/h]." While these numbers are far higher than typical U.S. highway speeds, it reveals that it's vital to master aerodynamics so EVs can travel on long highway stretches and still attain sufficient range. Overall Efficiency Unlike internal combustion cars, electric cars have the upper hand because they use far less energy. According to the Department of Energy (DOE), a typical gasoline car would have an efficiency (energy to the wheels) of less than 25%. This means that the other 75% of energy would be lost as heat or used in other internal combustion engine systems. Disregarding the benefits of regenerative braking, electric cars have an efficiency of over 65%. The other 35% is energy lost in charging and drive system losses (battery system cooling and heat). Regenerative Braking In traditional non-hybrid cars, deceleration is primarily done with their friction brakes. This means that lots of kinetic energy is simply wasted as heat. In hybrids and EVs, most braking is done through capturing kinetic energy and transferring it as electrical energy back into the battery pack. With this braking method, electric cars can recuperate energy back into the battery rather than wasting the energy as heat into the surroundings. According to the DOE, a typical EV's total efficiency (factoring in regen) is around 90% in the combined cycle. So, How Much Will You Save? While most articles will compare two of the best-selling EV and ICE sedans, like the Tesla Model 3 and the Toyota Camry, choosing two closely-sized and similarly-priced cars is far more realistic. The Toyota Corolla and the Nissan Leaf will be the two contenders in this comparison. The Nissan Leaf is the best-selling electric car that costs less than $30,000, and the Corolla was the second best-selling sedan this August (Car Pro USA). 2022 Toyota Corolla L (non-hybrid) $20,075 139 horsepower 30 city / 38 highway mpg 3.0 gallons / 100 miles 436-mile total range 2022 Nissan Leaf S 40kWh $27,400 ($19,900 incl. Federal tax credit) 147 horsepower 123 city / 99 highway mpge 30 kWh / 100 miles 150-mile total range To make this comparison fair, we will use the U.S. annual average mileage of 13,476 miles (U.S. Department of Transportation). We will also use the average U.S. home energy rate of $0.1252 per kWh (Electric Choice) and the average regular gas price of $3.285 a gallon, as of December 31, 2021 (AAA). For the Corolla, we will divide the total annual mileage of 13,476 miles a year by 100 miles and then multiply that number by 3.0 gallons to get a total of approximately 404 gallons of gasoline used in one year. Multiplying this gas price by $3.285 a gallon, it'll cost about $1,328 each year on gasoline for the Toyota. For the Leaf, we'll divide 13,476 miles by 100 miles and then multiply that quotient by 30kWh. In one year of driving a Leaf, it'll use around 4043kWh of electricity. Multiplying this by the average U.S. energy rate of $0.1252 per kWh, the Leaf will only cost $506 a year on electricity. This sum could fall to an even lower value, factoring in free public charging and $250 worth of EVGo credits in partnership with Nissan. Conclusion Each year, an electric car like the Leaf could save you $822 in fueling costs over a typical gasoline-powered sedan. In four years of ownership, this value could jump to $3,288, and in eight, you could save $6,576. With rising gasoline prices and an increased emphasis on electric vehicle incentives, now's the time to make the switch!
  2. Klopp net spend over 9 years £254million. City spend 1.5 billion. If we gave Klopp 1.5 billion I think we would do as well if not better than Pep at City. City drive Ferraris and we drive Fords. Its great that we can 1 CL and 1 PL with what we have.
  3. Went to Hokkaido recently and would like to share some photos here. Famous for its flower flied and winter sports during winter, August is end of the summer season I think. Weather wise still cooling average around 22 C with morning and evening dropping to below 18C. This trip I rented a 8 seater and total distance covered is approx 1400 Km. While the speed limit for city is 50 km/hr and highway 80 km/hr, to maintain at 80 km/hr on highway is not so easy. Took Scoot from Singapore and transit at Taiwan (1 hour transit time) Good break but just enough time to get on the plane. Landed in Sapporo early morning. This is a short of their air port. nowhere near Changi T1 but there are buses you can catch to town. I booked Unizo Inn next to Sapporo Grand Hotel. Checked in and walk to collect my car which I booked with Budget car rental. It is within walking distance. Photos of a street shot in Sapporo and their underground train station (MRT). Beside flower and snow, Japan is also about food. 1st stop is their famous Furano Cheese factory. But, it is more like a cafe and their cakes.
  4. That's exactly right. City have 2 internationals for every position. For us if TAA imjured then its academy boy Conor Bradley. If Salah injured then its Harvey Elliot or Ben Doak. City has 100 million Jack Grelish to come on when Jeremy Doku comes off.
  5. The integration of Jones into the midfield mean either macca and endo need to accommodate Jones. Endo on the bench mean macca be the six. Jones assumed sobo roles but does not help endo to create a passing path. Jones ain't sobo. Forward thinking...receiving pass...creating passing path. Endo lesser chance forward passes. Remembered during city games. Endo and macca complemented each other in the 6 position.
  6. Well, FSG (sorry am no fan of FSG but we can't change the owner) believes in moneyball and the coach has to work within the boundaries. Maybe that's why Klopp is leaving with a slap on his face known as Michael Edward. We can't say Liverpool doesn't attract good players.. We sign Macca for 35m. Szoboszlai plus Gravenberch and Endo cost approx one Bellingham. I think that is good business. Gakpo was a world cup star and he opted to sign for us over Man U Same for Diaz. Maybe, Nunez needs to be deployed on the left wing. We have 3 left sided right footed forwards: Gakpo, Diaz and Nunez. Jota can play across but probably our best no. 9 and he is clearly unable to last half a season without a long holiday at the medical centre. We have 1 right forward with no clear back up since 2017? Doak plus Gordon still too young and Elliot is preferred in midfield. Honestly, we do not need to find another Salah like we will not find another Suarez or Torres or Gerrard. Surely, we can sell one of Diaz, Nunez and Gakpo. Nunez is getting all the blame cos of the position he has gotten in and shots he did not convert. The three forwards are not playing in sync. Seriously, we don't need a team of world best players in each position. We don't even need to beat Man City or the top 3 teams to win the league title. Just beat those lesser teams and that is good enough. We can't beat the current man U over 3 games... we do not deserve the title. We need a change of tactics and philosophy. One good way will be to reduce the average age of the team. Younger players usually make less money than those 28 and above. We talk about a certain Jarrod Bowen since donkey years ago. Now he has gotten expensive and maybe too old soon.
  7. The Athletic few weeks ago did some analysis of why Man City performs better in the last stretch of the season. Excluding champion's mentality, obsessive and ruthless Pep, it's cos their 1st team will usually have the least number of minutes played by the 60-70% mark compared to their competitors. So simply fresher legs for the last part of the season.
  8. Vios/City cabin space vs altis/elantra is tiny difference given current car design. A civic has more cabin space than a mz6. Camry/accord cabin space is different class compared to mz6. Of course a CRV/Rav4 is also roomy and comfortable as it's more boxy. if u like to sit very upright, u would prefer SUV. If u like to slouch/lean back like me, then i prefer sedans. SUVs i never really feel comfortable in the seat.
  9. Don't worry so much. Wr waited for 30 yrs. Let's wait for another 6 games At least we still have a world class coach... not sure what kind of coach we will have next season.. maybe Graham Potter Jokes aside... Man City played e tra time plus penalty... next opponent is Chelsea? Let's hope the real Cheksea turn up with ex Man City youth striker in form..
  10. Everton. In my words they were plain dumb. Nothing in the nature of chelsea or city. Merely an oversight by their accounting department. Thus their cases were straight forward and got deducted points way before other clubs. 😅 During covid Everton recognised certain grants/drawbacks from the government/clubs. Compensating the zero revenues for playing behind close door. Furlough scheme for the club employees. Undernthe FFP it Is permissible to recognise such sum as profit. Nothing at fault here. The dumb part was Everton went out to buy players before recognising the sum as profits in the Financial Statements. I read Everton fall short by only a few days. Player contract concluded before the filing of financial stmt. This happened for 2 financial years at least. We see the points deduction, appealed, add back. Last week another point deduction. Apparently Everton fc appealed on the ground that the committee (Premier league) failed notify Everton fc one of the filing dateline...... something along that line. 😆😆😆 .
  11. Altis consider compact sedan? Maybe you can consider this. I think elantra is not consider that compact. Unless you are talking about city and vios. To me i always find driving those 2.0L sedan and those 1.6L sedan like not much difference. If i want a bigger car, would go straight to an SUV, would not consider those camry, mazda 6 and accord. Those 1.6L sedan i find is good enough.

  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJk57ZfHvyM Looks like final fantasy but quite near reality Heard the ghost township may have some injection of life soon. But mostly collecting dust at this point in time. Maybe tempting to invest in a landed gated estate if I cash out on the HDB.
  14. Wuhan Cai Lin Ji at Jurong Point Not bad...the noodles look like usual offerings but quite unique in taste...however, can skip the green bean soup and that steamed siew mai...too dry...my atb colleague from that city said those are not authentic Hubei style...usually is stuffed with very fresh minced meat and lots of oil...😂
  15. We are just 2 points behind City but the worrying thing is we have the worse goal difference. City draw and we win we still lose on GD.
  16. What an idiot ... the only thing missing is blue hair. Those are heavy heavy charges. https://english.gujaratsamachar.com/news/nri-news/who-is-riddhi-patel-indian-american-who-threatened-to-us-city-council-mayor And Fox. "Riddhi Patel, an Indian-American woman in the US protesting Israel's actions in Gaza, was arrested after she threatened to murder officials at the Bakersfield City Council meeting in California on Wednesday. Riddhi Patel, who is known for her stance against Israel's policies, was charged with making terroristic threats during the public comment segment of the session at the meeting. Patel, who was angry at the council for their "lack of support for a proposed cease-fire resolution" and the increased security measures at the government building amidst ongoing anti-Israel protests, directed her ire towards council members and Mayor Karen Goh, reported US media website Fox News." aoyEWBn_460svvp9.webm
  17. Rúben Amorim wants to bring Viktor Gyökeres with him to Anfield if he becomes Liverpool’s new manager, according to HITC. With the 39-year-old the favorite to succeed Jürgen Klopp in the summer, the Reds have inevitably been linked with a number of his players. Gyökeres is the latest, with the Swedish international reportedly holding a release clause of $107m (£86m/€101m). The 25-year-old has 36 goals from 43 appearances in all competitions for Sporting CP, having made the move to Portugal from Coventry City last summer.
  18. Had a bit of time, so I'm putting together the places I went and tried Introduction Perth in general Perth City is quite small, but Western Australia is huge, so be specific on where you want to go and what you want. Traveling distances out of Perth City are massive so account for the traveling time. Eg a day trip to Margaret River is ill-advised. Weather, if you're going soon, it's warm in the day, but gets cool at night. Bear in mind, Australia is like that in general, once the sun goes out, the temperature can drop by more than 10 degrees. Food Be prepared to spend 18-30 Aus$ a meal. Or pack sandwiches and such to save. Or stay home. You can't really scrimp too much and enjoy. The good news is that the currency is smaller than ours, so there's a discount. And don't try to smuggle food or any organic material, they are really strict. Declare and pack in clear bags. Usually dried stuff with English labels eg baby food and medicine are fine. Eat local stuff like beef and fish but if you do like Chinese food, there are many choices, the Northbridge area has many choices. Viet pho is also very good there. Some places offer free Chinese tea, but other drinks like Coke can cost $4-5 a can. Visa We do need a visa, and you have to use their ETA app. Bear in mind there's one for Australia and another for NZ, and they are not interchangeable. They do charge $40 Aus and the ETA, if granted, will be valid for one year and will allow Singapore citizens to visit multiple times for up to 90 days per visit. Scanning your passport and photo is a bit fiddly. So don't do it last minute. Data roaming I think it's vital since you need your phone for GPS, and downloading a map prior to leaving home is ok, but can be tricky. Wifi in hotels is ok but don't expect lightning speed. Usually hotel wifi is free but check first to avoid surprises. Car rental If you intend to go out of the city, a SUV is a good thing. But a mid to large sized sedan is fine for road trips. Specify the child seat if you need one. It is illegal without one and they are really strict. Pre book it to avoid issues. There are many car companies, so just use one of the major websites. There is a petrol station not far from the airport to fill up. Prices do vary so check and use the airport station as a benchmark. It is more costly to pump nearer the weekend and when it is near to the tourist sites. Check your car for defects and spend some time. Again a reminder that distances are vast in Australia, so plan ahead, and it is always good to have at least two drivers. The one not driving is important, to navigate and more importantly, keep the driver awake. They drive on the same side as us, and our local license is fine over there. Roadside parking in the city can be expensive so take note. But check, some places are free after certain hours. Also, when it says "2P" they are quite strict and will fine you if you do exceed. Payments Cash is less and less accepted, eg my hotel only does cashless. Some places add a surcharge for credit cards but are free for debit cards so check first. They have their own version of paywave and it's quite convenient. Shopping There is a DFO on the outskirts near the airport, and prices are decent, especially those on sale. Remember to claim GST but it has to be in a single receipt or purchase. Check for details from their site: https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/tourist-refund-scheme Locally produced stuff are cheaper, including food, wine, and even hiking stuff. Bring a cooler bag or something. Also there are no bags for free, so bring your own or be prepared to pay. QV creams are way cheaper there, so get some for babies or yourself. Likewise for sunscreens and also try their local toiletries, very nice and cheap. Go to the supermarkets to shop for chocolates, biscuits, tea other local food. There are three major chains, IGA, Coles and Woolworths. Look out for sales Tap water is potable and I often just drink from the tap. The free water served in restaurants is just chilled tap anyway. Attractions: King's Park Great for kids and also adults to just walk about Free parking Caversham Wildlife Park 30-40 min from the city Great for kids and adults Free parking Bring your own lunch or expect to eat the stuff in the small cafe there. Not cheap and so so You have to queue to touch the koala and wombats, pay extra to hug a koala and there are showtimes, so take note and plan your circuits. Also a full day out Rottnest Island Better for older kids and you will definitely need a full day out Hilarys Boat Harbour 30-40 min away from the city Better for older kids and you'll need a full day out too Decent restaurants nearby, just not cheap Yanchep National Park 40 min from the city A little like Caversham so choose one Attractions • Gloucester Lodge Picnic Area. Named after Duke of Gloucester, who stayed here in 1934, the lodge is independently operated as a recreation camp. ... • Crystal Cave. ... • Bull Banksia Oval. ... • McNess House Visitor Centre. ... • Boomerang Gorge. ... • Yanchep Golf Course. ... • Lakeview picnic area. ... • Cabaret Cave. Fremantle Market 30 min from the airport or city Nice place to wander for half a day or less. It's quite small. · Viet Kites – pho, roast pork belly banh mi Dosukoi - Ramen · Muffle – waffle ice cream cone · Freo Baby – mini Dutch pancakes (milo milk) Dinner at Kailis’ Fish Market Café (11 mins walk from Freo markets) Food As mentioned there are many many places to eat at Northbridge if you fancy Chinese or Asian, so take a walk around. I choose child friendly places mainly and also a lot more Asian places than some others may want. I tried Fortune Five and Billy Lee's, and I prefer the former. Dessert (fruits) is free at the Fortune Five Ekiben: https://thewest.com.au/lifestyle/food/ekiben-restaurant-review-the-north-perth-eatery-serving-traditional-dishes-cheaper-than-trip-to-tokyo-c-13961279 Nice food and ambience 58 Angove St. North Perth, WA + 61 8 6249 8200 Authentic Bites Dumpling House (4.4*), 3/145 Newcastle St, Perth WA 6000, Australia Simple eatery Bella Gina http://www.bellaginacafe.com/ For breakfast it's mainly the same fare everywhere, so just pick a child friendly place and get to know the owner. Golden Mile Chinese Restaurant (4.4*), Shop 1/6 Preston St, Como WA 6152, Australia Northbridge Chinese Restaurant (3.9*), 26 Roe St, Northbridge WA 6003, Australia - run by Malaysians and pretty nice BBQ Chop Chicken rice place in CBD, $18 a plate but authentic enough Last but not least: One thing you must try and often if you like it is their coffee. The standards are much higher than ours and you can enjoy the flavor. Hope this helps 🙂
  19. first time drove left-hand in jeju, bang a lorry in the city hahaaa, chicken and duck talk, but roughly i know what he saying "are you drunk?", police came also can't speak english, the lorry no damage then just left, should have familiarised the drive at the outskirts first
  20. Organizer starts investigation any breach of code of conduct. Gues too much complain on weibo. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/sport/beijing-half-marathon-he-jie-win-organisers-investigation-4265841 Beijing half marathon probes 'embarrassing' win by Chinese runner Footage shared widely online appeared to show three African runners deliberately allowing China's He Jie to win. BEIJING: Organisers of the Beijing half marathon said on Monday (Apr 15) they were investigating after footage shared widely online appeared to show three African runners deliberately allowing China's He Jie to win. Video clips of Sunday's race showed the Kenyans Robert Keter and Willy Mnangat, Dejene Hailu of Ethiopia and home runner He approaching the finish. The three African runners can be seen pointing to the finish line and apparently waving He out in front, while appearing to slow down. He, the 2023 Asian Games marathon gold medallist, won by one second. The four had stuck together throughout the course of just over 21km, a broadcaster noted. "We are investigating and will announce the results to the public once they are available," a person from the Beijing Sports Bureau, who wished to remain anonymous, told AFP. The event's organiser - the Beijing Sports Competition Management and International Exchange Center - also said an investigation had been launched. The incident received significant attention on Chinese social media site Weibo, with some users criticising what they saw as an "embarrassing" result. "This will certainly be the most embarrassing championship in He Jie's career," one wrote. "With such a major organiser and such a well-known event, this really pushes sportsmanship to the ground in shame," the post added. Long-distance running has boomed in recent years among China's middle class, but there have been numerous instances of cheating and poor organisation. In 2018, at a half-marathon in the southern city of Shenzhen, 258 runners were found to have cheated, including many who took shortcuts. Traffic cameras caught them darting through trees to join a different part of the race. In 2019 a woman was filmed riding a green-coloured rental bike in the Xuzhou International Marathon in eastern China. She was ordered by race officials to dismount the bike, only to get back on again afterwards.
  21. Liverpool produce most wasteful Premier League performance on record. The Merseyside club ended the match with an expected goals (xG) total of 2.87, representing their highest xG in a Premier League game in which they did not score since the statistic started being recorded in 2010-11. The figure was also the highest xG total a team had recorded without scoring in a Premier League match since Brighton & Hove Albion faced Norwich City in April 2022.
  22. Indeed this is a major plus point, and pretty much the major factor why EV is preferable for city driving than ICE cars...
  23. And what exactly can the Bakersfield City Council Mayor Karen Goh do to stop the Israel Hamas conflict? How stupid is that? Lucky we have no one in SG so stupid go and ask their town council Mayor to stop the Israel Hamas conflict. If you have a clogged drain or no one came to collect your rubbish . . .
  24. I won't be too bother with asernal or City games if we can't even win a match at home against Crystal Palace. We still have to play villa away.
  25. City won't drop a single point from now on. 2nd or 3rd in the table make no difference.
