  1. My Nissan 2015 radio unit keep restarting non-stop. Had send car to TCM and was told to change the motherboard of the set. Suspected is the software issue. Any sylphy owner encounter this issue? Would appreciate if can share your solution. Thanks...
  2. Hi! I'm going to collect my sylphy later today. Wonder if anyone has a checklist for new sylphy car? Thanks!
  3. Thinking of getting the Nissan Sylphy (2009 facelift)... Feedback appreciated...Thanks
  4. kudos to the truck driver for resisting the urge to crush the sylphy...😆
  5. knn... my sylphy 1.5 also 9 nia....🥺
  6. Yes, my older Nissan Sylphy also has issue and left one year 3 months. Recently just changed new valve body and overhaul the gearbox. The workshop boss told me that once the vehicle left around 2 years, always got gearbox issues. I saw his workshop, so many older cars sent for overhaul gearbox, not only jap cars, there are also europe cars. I will drive till 10 years and consider to renew the coe or just scrap the car.
  7. 2010 Nissan got so many B&B cars selling. Like Latio, Sunny and Sylphy. And all were 1.5L car. Only Sunny got 1.6L. Didn't know that Sylphy has a 2.0L version.
  8. Har?? This Mazda so kwai lan arh? Sylphy driver roll down windows wave, or both hands tolong tolong also no gib way? No wonder have to deploy passenger as temporary Stop sign post. 😁
  9. Will see many copy cats doing this act at checkpoints if nothing done to this current driver & passenger of the Nissan Sylphy. Just like past video of a PGV driver opening his driver door trying to squeeze into another lane during jam.
  10. Should submit to TP and ICA for dangerous act and failing to form up on the Nissan Sylphy. Cutting queue by using human shield.
  11. Maybe can create a thread or club for forummers with expiring COEs. Mine expiring in around a year. First time really thinking about renewing coe. 9 year old turbo charged sylphy that had seen quite an increase in repair costs since 7th year onwards. Still have many disturbing mech noises that I have been turning a deaf ear on. To renew coe for 5 years, its like spending 80k cash to buy back my own old old car that I have no confidence in its reliability. Then maybe have to spend another 10 to 20k to overhaul it abit since commited.
  12. My driver side door lock is spoilt. Nissan sylphy. Basically the locking mechanism cannot be triggered electrically (button on door or key button). So I have to use the physical key to unlock and lock the driver door everytime now. The other 3 doors lock and unlock as per normal. Anyone had this problem and is it expensive to repair?
  13. A little surprised that car horns can break down. I mean, my Sylphy is coming to 9 years old only. I was told by the workshop that it is a common problem to Nissan cars. It's not the horn but the contact on the steering wheel that's worn. Appreciate fellow motorists in this forum can advise where to find distributors who supply the "pad" (to be mounted on steering wheel) for the horn. Perhaps, what is a reasonable price to replace the horn? Thanks! Also, looking for manual air horn to save cost. Hahaha!
  14. my aunt's one a lot of problems, i need to help her solve it. idling got jerking problem, moving off low power, i researched, seems like some ignition coil problem, may be engine mounting too. air-con sometimes draw in outside air when too cold. thanks all.
  15. Rarely see Sylphy so hiong one. 😁
  16. This Pulsar consider a failure, think no business one. Actually, for Nissan cars, any car model after the Sunny, like not many business. Then the design become more and more ah pek and ugly, like the sylphy and almera.
  17. Hi guys, Sorry if it's going to be a long post but just to share my experiences so far buying/owning a 1.2 QQ. Bought a Sep/Oct 2016 QQ from direct seller, 1st owner, she's an acquaintance of a family member. Mileage at 34k km, seller is an air stewardess who is migrating end of this month. Test drove the car at her place, no funny sounds everything looks good save for minor scratches and dinks. Collected the car middle of this month and so far I have done the following : 1. Interior & Exterior cleaning at Island Car Wash & Grooming since the car was quite dirty - $160 2. Change 4x tyres to Bridgestone Alenza 001 at Yung Hin Tyre & Battery - $560 Current set was still original Goodyear Efficientgrip SUV from week 14, 2016. Thread still okay but changed since coming 7 years old and my steering wheel felt very heavy. 3. Change to Varta Silver AGM battery at Yung Hin Tyre & Battery - $260 Current battery changed in 2021, so I just thought might as well change one shot together with the tyres. Past week noticed a rattling sound from the centre dashboard when idling and rattling sound on the right side when I am accelerating. At cruising speed, both sounds will go away. Progressively, the rattling sound from right side persisted when I am idling as well. Both sounds will go away when I off the aircon thus had a feeling it's an aircon issue. Aircon was still very cold except for the 2 issues above. Just came back from L&Kim Aircon this afternoon, a worker came by to check. At first he said could just be mounting issue since its worn but he will check. The boss came with his rod and start checking, both diagnose as compressor issue. They also brought their neighbour workshop fella to check on the mounting. Advised to change the compressor first and observe after, if not the engine mounting also may have to change. Now my car is with L&Kim, was advised about 6+pm will be done. Cost : $830 One last thing that I noticed, when returning the steering wheel from full lock while reversing, there will be a TOK sound. When moving normally and turning, no such sound. Having almost read through the pages of this thread, I have found a few things that may be causing this but it's KIV first, for now I wont full lock while reversing. Other than the above wear and tear things I have changed, the ride has been good much better since I was driving a Sylphy before this. FC can't say much since I am still on my first full tank pumped last week. Now I am thinking where to send the car for it's first major 40k km servicing, considering between: 1. going back to TC and get their NPMP 2. go to Autosaver 3. go to ERA Auto c/o Kelvin Any bros got any recommendation be it the above 3 or other workshops? Thanks!
  18. Why not send it back to Tan Chong Motors(the agent) or any car workshop to check? They would be able to advise you better. A 4 year old Sylphy should be considered a relatively new car. I sold my Sylphy about 4-5 years ago at least... Hope you are able to get your car fixed soon.
  19. (copied from my post in "muffler" forum Driving 7 yo Sylphy and engine outlet /inlet to exhaust-muffler "broke". Loud Rattling sound when idle. Exhaust pipe holding up as brackets intact. Wifey says don't waste money to repair as noise doesn't bother her. But can pass upcoming VICOM inspection or not? If must change, better go to Nissan or to one of the 3 w'shops mentioned in this forum?

  22. New sylphy has been out in europe, anyone know when it will landibg Thailand and available in sg? With the launching of new civic 2016 guess difficult for nissan to compete with honda if no further facelift model launch on their current car range :-/ https://youtu.be/3S_qPoAKzqI
