  1. OK, I admit I just get to know this site recently, and had a good laugh at some of the "news". Enjoy... e:Ny1 was meant to be a secure password, Honda finally admits The Honda e:Ny1 was never meant to be called that, the company has finally conceded, after it emerged that the name was actually the result of a comical administrative error. According to a leaked internal report, a member of staff accidentally copy-and-pasted part of a secure password into the online trademark application. An investigation was launched but the employee was spared disciplinary action on the grounds that it was ‘long past 3pm on a Friday’ when the form was submitted. “This is all very embarrassing,” said the employee on the condition of anonymity. “But who among us hasn’t made a boo boo at the end of the week?” “My heart goes out to everybody who’s had to type out e:Ny1 since then. I’m also gutted for my mother in law, because if passwords didn’t need at least one number, capital letter and special character, that Honda would have her maiden name now. “It would’ve tickled her pink. And she’s in her seventies, so she undoubtedly would’ve bought one.” Honda has now called for members of the public to suggest a new name for e:Ny1. Popular candidates on social media include the Honda Typo, Honda Captcha and Honda TwoFactorAuthentication. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Intellectual Property Office declined to comment officially, but said: “This isn’t the first time this has happened. I’m not pointing fingers, but did you think Toyota bZ4X was intentional?”
  2. Hello Everyone, I saw that some drivers in the Honda jazz fit group on Facebook received notifications of vehicle recall due to Fuel pump impeller. Personally, i have not received the notifications but out of curiosity, i went to onemotoring to check on it since my car is a Honda Fit manufactured in 2019. True enough, it was under a recall program. Under the Onemotoring page, i was advised to contact the importer or dealer for rectifications. I have since then contacted the importer to ask for advice. However, i was directed to contact my dealer to get it rectified instead. My dealer may have closed down and I shared this with the importer. I was informed to get it rectified at my own workshop. My work shop however have turned down this rectification work as they do not know exactly what needs to be replace or changed. As the description of it is very brief. "Improper molding conditions in the impeller (resin impeller) of a low-pressure fuel pump can cause the resin density to become low, causing it to swell and become deformed by the fuel. As a result, the impeller may come into contact with the pump case, causing the fuel pump to malfunction, and in the worst-case scenario, the engine may stall while driving. Replace the low-pressure fuel pump with a countermeasure item." I have since informed the importer that my dealer has possible closed down and that my workshop do not want to do the job - pending their reply. Any advice from anyone who have faced or are facing such issues at the moment ? Thank you.
  3. i not going to send my car to Kah Motor. I'll verify this with Honda Japan directly to ensure the authenticity of the request and any associated fees since this is recalled by them. Honda Japan should bear all associated costs.
  4. @camrysfe I saw this same Crown Crossover at Bedok towards Siglap about 2 weeks ago. No photo as I am driving and the car is within the blind spots of my car cam. Somehow my first impression is that it is a bloated Prius, especially from the side. @Tohto Toyota external might have improved over the years but interior, especially the choice of materials is still not up to the mark, as compared to Korean and Conti in general. Just look at the interior of the Prius and you would get what I mean. Hard and "raw" (non-textured) plastic is evident. @ER-3682 thanks for sharing the fact. Somehow I have a soft spot for the Elan and Elise and it is the compactness of the car that attracted me (just like the Honda S660 & Daihatsu Open). But I know I will have problems getting in and out as I age. @Gnahp I laid on the middle of the road to take the shot
  5. @itsmeagainhk Thanks for the info. I got a call from kah motor yesterday claming that they instructed by Honda Japan to contact local customer and ask me send my vezel for them to replace the faulty pressure pump but they going to charge SDS545 admin fee.
  6. Yup try and even sit inside. The doors are so heavy like German cars when compared to even Toyota Harrier hybrid at the car@expo. Nowadays even Korean brand cars doors are heavier than Japanese brands. German, Korean and all those EV, they are already at digital instruments cluster and large infotainment display, ventilated seats etc yet when walk over to look at Toyota and Honda, I just sigh. They just cannot keep it up to date when today trends, still typical Japanese old school mindsets.
  7. Source: https://www.mycarforum.com/forums/forum/2-japanese-talk/?do=add Honda will introduce its new Ye Series of electric vehicles at this month's Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. These new vehicles will join the automaker's existing e:N Series EV lineup that is already on sale in China, and they will begin going on sale before the end of the year. The first two models that will arrive are the Ye P7 and Ye S7. The pair will ride on a newly developed EV platform available in single-motor, rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configurations. Honda says it will tailor the RWD variants "to offer sporty and crisp handling" while gearing the AWD versions toward "high power and highly responsive handling." The photos show the two EVs in just a couple of angles, with the pair featuring similar silhouettes. However, both have distinct front fascias, with the S7's styling being a bit sportier than its sibling. The brand also has plans to launch future production models based on the Ye GT Concept. The GT has a coupe-like profile—it looks like a squished S7—with a pointier nose, sleeker headlights, no cladding, and a wide, low profile. Honda doesn't offer much regarding the GT's specs, but it said it designed the EV "to provide the ultimate driving experience." It'll also be the first Honda automobile ever to feature a large screen for the front seat passenger. Honda says the Ye P7 and Ye S7 will go on sale before the end of this year. Production models based on the Ye GT Concept will hit dealer lots in China by the end of 2025. The company plans to introduce 10 new EVs in the Chinese market by 2027, six of which will be new Ye Series models. Its latest series of EVs is all part of the automaker's plan to shift its lineup to fully electric vehicles in China by 2035.
  8. The overturned car is Honda Stream. The Saab tbone Honda Stream first, causing it to flip Heard from radio the JC girl was a passenger in the Honda Stream, I think she was flung out and landed under the Sorento from the impact. Her father, the driver of the Honda Stream, is in critical condition
  9. Let say in the hypothetical scenario if only that SAAB was equipped with active safety features like ADAS, the car blind spot assistance alert triangle on side mirror will light up and the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist alert will be trigger and may auto e-brake, will the outcome be somehow different but that an old SAAB. The flip black Honda stream also very unlucky and took the T-bone impact from the SAAB car which direct channel all the first impact force into the Honda stream, that stream only have 2 front airbag.
  10. Judging by current trend..... " the honda civic must he racing with the BYD...." 😛
  11. Case study 2022 in point: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/2-dead-car-bus-woodlands-road-traffic-accident-honda-civic-tower-transit-2914436 There is something to be said for driving around carrying enough mass, but if you’re not strapped in, you’ll still pinball around inside the vehicle.
  12. Sliced through the Honda like cheese... the Saab is built like a Volvo tank...
  13. JC girl was in the overturned grey Honda Stream, the first car to be hit. Her father, the driver is in critical cond.
  14. @Lala81 Overturned should be a Honda Stream. Not too clear which car the JC girl was in, but should be either the Sorento or the Stream. Saab looks like almost no damage, considering the carnage it left behind.
  15. Looking at the situation and speed, seems like on purpose. Like the Honda that smashed into the bus in woodlands. But that one is medical issue.
  16. Lol.... Sorry but at risk of being misogynistic, but most times i see those kind are women drivers. Just last Sunday at Bishan open air carpark, carpark quite full, was waiting for my wife to tabao lunch, car was stopped along the side of a bank of parallel lots. There I witnessed a battle scarred honda civic trying to parallel park into the last parallel lot.... Adjust in out 10-12 times... Front left wheel dunnoe hit the kerb how many times... Each time adjust do the same movements... How to get in? End up the passnger had to come out of the car to direct the driver... Even then that takes another 5 times. Finally the car got in... The passenger walked away quickly... The driver finally came out, guess what... Auntie driver. I was actually waiting to see if the Honda hit the mercedes in the adjacent lot... No such luck....or else sure got video to post in Reckless Driver thread... 😊
  17. Ya, seems like it. A couple of aggressive ads AFTER the expo show, are some ADs running out of orders to keep the narrative of COE will continue to surge? Quote Nicholas Wong, chief executive officer of Honda authorised agent Kah Motor, told Motorist: “Looking at the total number of bids received in this round, Cat A has dropped by 500 bids and Cat B has dropped by about 200 bids. The sales volume and bookings are better than usual, but not better than expected. We were expecting better sales. We’re waiting for LTA to announce the next COE quota for May to July, possibly tomorrow or this Friday (April 19).” Unquote https://www.motorist.sg/article/2754/april-2024-coe-results-2nd-bidding-the-coe-dragon-turned-on-its-afterburner-right-after-the-car-expo-especially-in-cat-a
  18. Finally Honda Stepwgn Spada is arriving officially Come register your interest - https://www.honda.com.sg/stepwgn-interest.html Wonder what is the retail? [
  19. If I’m in UXA, will just get the Honda Pilot..
  20. @Throttle2 I went to The Car Expo last week to jalat jalat. Did not manage to take any pricelist from Kah booth but mainly because I am not interested in Honda car. If what u say i.e. 240k for the new CRV is true, then i must congratulated Honda, cos that means that they feel their brand power is on par with Mecidi..... cos mecidi advert C180 at 250,800 😉 Hummmmm.... I think some of these days need to go Kah motor to look see look see. Who knows, maybe i will be surprised. nvr say nvr
  21. I own a Honda Freed Hybrid 2019 model and this happen to me twice. When going to Malaysia at Woodlands causeway, sometimes it's a long wait. But there are times where it's 1 hour+ at the causeway. The strange thing is that my hybrid battery will go dead, and then the car doesn't seem to move. When I press on the accelerator, the car jerks and has no power moving forward. There is multiple reminder to me that the battery will be dead soon and performance will degrade. Only when the car clears the customs, I drive for about 1km+ then the car goes back to normal. The last time it happens, I have to stop the car, turn off and on, and I see the car charging. So the question is: 1) Why isn't my Freed charging when stationary? Is there a configuration that I need to do in order to enable that? The car instructions are all in Japanese. 2) Will this situation damage the battery life?
  22. PM personal car is just a Honda MPV? Really low profile le. Even many commoners drive a mercs/BMW le.
