  1. I think it's not really 'high', but rather the entry/exit height. Most SUV the seat is at hip level, so easier to just slide in for older folks. Traditional sedan/hatch need to lower down slightly, so some may not like as much.
  2. After owning sedans, hatch and SUV...I came to the following conclusion about the sitting posture of SUV: - because of the ride height, your bonnet and door window sill is relatively higher from the ground. - that created more "blind space" from the driver's view out of the cabin where he/she needs to harness more of his/her "estimation" power to correctly position the SUV relative to the road. - For sure all the SUVs I have driven or tested, the front driver seat allows for as much adjustment as those of sedans. There fore, you can similarly set your driver seat to slouch/lean back as when you drive a sedan....but by doing that, you will realize that you will have greater difficulty "positioning" your SUV. - And that is the practical and science based reason why when you get into the SUV driver seat, you will automatically adjust your seat to a more upright position as you try to achieve the view out of the cabin that is optimized for safe driving.
  3. supreme LEEder might let him take over OngLye next round mah...cos he knew that no chance to be next seat warmer
  4. for the cx-5 i drove in australia, I had to have upright seat, otherwise my son wont have much knee room. Even though he's only 9 and still using booster seat. Lol.
  5. I want suv and slouch/lean back sitting 😁 So far there are only a few SUVs with pretty good slant, angle adjustable back seat.
  6. Vios/City cabin space vs altis/elantra is tiny difference given current car design. A civic has more cabin space than a mz6. Camry/accord cabin space is different class compared to mz6. Of course a CRV/Rav4 is also roomy and comfortable as it's more boxy. if u like to sit very upright, u would prefer SUV. If u like to slouch/lean back like me, then i prefer sedans. SUVs i never really feel comfortable in the seat.
  7. Ask around, this is not popular brand even available. Ubi getting dealership correct, the old SEAT place previously Chery...previously....
  8. LW should have no problem to hold on to this seat for 10 year la. Esp PM is ownself say ownself to be PM, no one can vote him out.
  9. Well, he got 3 son and 1 daughter... 1 son throw in the towel, doesn't mean the other throw in theirs too.. Many things can happen in the next 10 year provided LW can hold on to that seat for that long...
  10. What do you think? That someone has to ensure the seat is only kept warm and not permanently sat on As much as I am excited about a personality like lawrence taking over the PM seat - as he appears to be not made in the conventional mould of previous PMs, so we can expect refreshing solutions to our challenges - I hope he is confident enough to build his own following and genuine support from his colleagues, and can be his own man.
  11. Source: https://www.mycarforum.com/forums/forum/2-japanese-talk/?do=add Honda will introduce its new Ye Series of electric vehicles at this month's Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. These new vehicles will join the automaker's existing e:N Series EV lineup that is already on sale in China, and they will begin going on sale before the end of the year. The first two models that will arrive are the Ye P7 and Ye S7. The pair will ride on a newly developed EV platform available in single-motor, rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configurations. Honda says it will tailor the RWD variants "to offer sporty and crisp handling" while gearing the AWD versions toward "high power and highly responsive handling." The photos show the two EVs in just a couple of angles, with the pair featuring similar silhouettes. However, both have distinct front fascias, with the S7's styling being a bit sportier than its sibling. The brand also has plans to launch future production models based on the Ye GT Concept. The GT has a coupe-like profile—it looks like a squished S7—with a pointier nose, sleeker headlights, no cladding, and a wide, low profile. Honda doesn't offer much regarding the GT's specs, but it said it designed the EV "to provide the ultimate driving experience." It'll also be the first Honda automobile ever to feature a large screen for the front seat passenger. Honda says the Ye P7 and Ye S7 will go on sale before the end of this year. Production models based on the Ye GT Concept will hit dealer lots in China by the end of 2025. The company plans to introduce 10 new EVs in the Chinese market by 2027, six of which will be new Ye Series models. Its latest series of EVs is all part of the automaker's plan to shift its lineup to fully electric vehicles in China by 2035.
  12. For some cars, one of the option for the processing unit is under the driver's seat. But two disadvantages: 1) Very difficult to access to insert cashcard. But that seems like a deliberate effort because LTA really wants to push people to use vCashcard (which is a whole other issue altogether) 2) Apparently the unit can get warm. So now you get 'free' heated seats. It's not hot enough to cause major problems but you can definitely feel it.
  13. Just look at this Jimny on display, the wind screen look so congested. And the footwell in the passenger seat, I think they don't even dare to display the processor unit, for fear that driver will suddenly realize how much space is left. Why it sound so kinky Hahahaha
  14. VW Singapore plots Skoda comeback Volkswagen-owned Czech brand Skoda is making a comeback, yet again. But this time, it is parent group Volkswagen which will do its own importing and retailing here. Volkswagen Group Singapore - the manufacturer-owned importer and retailer of Volkswagen vehicles here - has registered a new company for this purpose. According to the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, Skoda Centre Singapore was registered last month and will be operating out of 247 Alexandra Road, which is the same address as the VW showroom. The Straits Times understands renovations are being carried out at the facility and that Skoda Centre Singapore will start operations in the first quarter of next year. Volkswagen Group Singapore was not available for comment, but it is understood that a meaningful price differential will be in place to re-launch the Czech brand here. Previously, Skoda cars - which are based on Volkswagens - were the same price or even costlier than equivalent VW models. In other markets, Skodas are cheaper. The brand was last represented by Harvest Automobiles, part of businessman Peter Kwee's now dormant motor group of companies. Harvest Automobiles went bust in 2013 - the third Skoda agency to have failed in Singapore. The Straits Times understands Vertex Automobiles, the dealer for Chinese automobile brand Chery that is owned by egg trader Lian Fong, had made a pitch for the Skoda franchise. But it has since landed Seat, a Spanish brand also owned by Volkswagen Group. Skoda had also been courting Trans Eurokars, a multi-franchise group owned by businessman Karsono Kwee. Among its brands are Rolls-Royce, Porsche, Mini and Mazda. The best year for the Skoda brand here was 2010, when it sold 105 cars. That is less than 4 per cent of Volkswagen sales last year. Will the brand have better success under Volkswagen? Nanyang Business School's Adjunct Associate Professor Zafar Momin, previously an automotive expert with the Boston Consulting Group, said: "Skoda may be able to make a comeback in Singapore if priced and promoted properly. It needs to be very competitive with its Korean competitors in terms of pricing, as it could provide solid, competitive products targeted at value segments of the markets. "With VW Singapore now doing it themselves, it has a better chance than before. Having said that, I wonder what "comeback" really means in a small crowded Singapore car market which has small volumes for many non-mainstream brands. Would it really be worth the effort and to what extent would it cannibalise VW products?" When contacted back in 2014 - when Harvest Automobiles relinquished the business - Volkswagen Group Singapore said it had no plans to take over the Skoda retail business here. It has, however, taken over the maintenance and warranty of Skodas here. There are about 400 Skoda cars in Singapore today. As a onwer of both Skoda and VW model, I can attest that Skoda is indeed better, in almost every aspect, than VW. I can wait to welcome it back to Singapore!! Here are some interesting models in current Skoda lineup, that I hope can be made available to local motorist when sales start next year. Superb Superb Combi Kodiaq
  15. He first has to get a seat in parliament... wonder how long he can tahan
  16. So despite a long flight that wasn't enjoyable, my wife has decided she had enough fun to want to go through another. This time we will do a shorter flight and go somewhere with reasonably cool weather (baby loves the cold), and get a car.. Because she want to bring that mega cot again! haha So it's middle of March 2024, 6 days in Perth Australia and I will appreciate tips and advice again on places to go and stay. I've got tickets sorted, plus a rental car with an infant seat. My MIL will be going again too - brave lady, haha Now both wife and I have been to Perth a few times, so the city itself isn't very interesting, and we will want to stay in a same region, ideally even the same hotel / cabin throughout. QUESTIONS: Accommodations: So if we wish to do a farm stay, the Swan Valley area looks alright? - Anyone done farm stays before and has places to recommend? - I think we can go for two hotel rooms, OR a whole lodge / farm cottage for ourselves - ideally these have a small kitchen to prepare baby's food, not far from amenities eg Coles / Woolsworth supermarket? - Settler's Farm Stay - the only issue is that they don't have room for the whole stay, so I may have to get one night at the beginning elsewhere first -- does anyone have experience with this place? Attractions: Any tips on flying with a very active two year old - during the last flight, the entire aisle was the playground, haha I booked an infant seat and specified 2 years old, is their infant seat ok? Do I need deep cleaning? Any other attractions or recommended farm stays? Places to go - hiking? - markets? - Rottnest Island - is it any good for a two year old? - Caversham Wildlife Reserve - alpacas, and other animals (a few people have mentioned it) - visit Fremantle market (Fremantle Markets is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s also open on Monday public holidays) Thanks again!
  17. I read it somewhere as well when I was searching for more info. I went to the car show and sat inside the rear seat, definitely OK for Asian size. I am 1.73m. 😃 I am a fan of X4, it is definitely bigger than X4. The only blip is why is the rear brakes using drum brakes. Which car still use drum brakes in this era? Skoda is fond of doing out of norm things.
  18. LW seat warmer.
  19. the seat usually has a recess at the bottom, accessible when the seat is removed from the car and turned upside down 🙂 my seating situation also quite cramped. Reusing your photo, my aftermkt HUD controller (blue, size of a cigarette pack) is stuck to the underside of the steering column and another controller (yellow, size of two cigg packs) is stuck to the side of the transmission, just clear my left knee. btw the transmission gets very hot when driven hard, i don't know if this new PU will like it if stuck on transmission tunnel (front passenger side). Perhaps the PU installer can install the PU where the blue box is, under the steering column. It's usually out of sight. Just need to make sure left knee can clear it when getting in/out of car. No issue for me as my seat is mounted lower than stock
  20. Altis facelift Elegance new changes are (1) Electric Brake, (2) 12.3" display, (3) keyless entry on front passenger door side (4) powered driver seat (5) rear usb port (6) wireless charging
  21. So you didn’t get the expo $5k discount since you never signed up at the expo? Actually for those people wanting to buy a car, don’t think it is good to go to car expo la. I would rather go to the showroom itself to test drive and take my time to see look. Much lesser people crowding the car. The crowds at the expo really scary, like you said, esp the kids. Those kids hogging the car seat. 😓

  23. I am thinking maybe install it in the front footwell, just in front of the driver seat, secured to one of the bolts of the driver seat.
  24. United Airlines better still, in continental USA domestic flight, they often run into over-booking situation then will start offering cash to any passenger that willing to give up their seat and fly off on a later flight This was years ago when my former job required occasional overseas trips, not sure if it's still the situation now.
