Hi Biatch,

This is the new model replacement for the current Volvo S80, which was launched back in 1999. [:)] Yes, I agree it looks much better and sportier than the current S80. Can't wait to see the real thing in the flesh when it arrives on our shores. [nod][thumbsup]

Hi Potheader,

I think the new S80 looks better than the S40. [nod]

In my opinion, I feel that the design of the current S40 looks a bit funny from certain angles. [;)]

Hi CRV2004,

It does look much sportier than the current "Ah Pek" S80.

(No offence to owners of the current S80 as I was previously a Volvo S80 owner too [:)] )

Hi VIT4WD,

This is definitely the new model replacement for the current S80. Check out the write-up below. [:)]

New 2007 Volvo S80

Next month's Geneva Motor Show will host the world debut of the new Volvo S80 full-size sedan, which will go on sale by the end of 2006 in the U.S. The new S80 sports smoother styling, particularly inside where it shares the slimline center console design of the compact S40 sedan. The second-generation sedan will be available with the same V-8 engine found in the XC90, with 311 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. A new in-line six-cylinder engine bows in the S80 as well; its compact design makes it nearly as small as the company's five-cylinder engines and it can be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It displaces 3.2 liters and makes 232 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive will be available on V-8 models at launch; stability control and tire pressure monitors are standard equipment, while an electronically controlled suspension and adaptive cruise control are options. Volvo expects to sell 50,000 copies a year; prices have not been announced.

Hi JTS156,

I think styling of the new S80 is similar in some ways with the current S40, which was launched about 2 years ago. [nod]

It's definitely a new model replacement for the current S80, whose design dates back to 1999, and not a facelift. [:)]
