Slonez Clutched January 30, 2007 Share January 30, 2007 I believe the local agent bring in this model. Market price about $1300 from what I hear. Check with your installer.
Kermit 1st Gear January 30, 2007 Share January 30, 2007 I recently did some research comparing the RF306 with Alpine H701 processor. Price aside, the 701 is more powerful, and is a more versatile gadget. The 360, if I remember, does not allow for a full 3-way active setup plus sub. i.e. it only has 6 RCA outputs. The 701 has 8 RCA outputs. You will also need to buy a BT palm to tweak the 360. The 701+controller cost only about $1100...The 360+palm combo easily sets u back by $1500. With that, you might as well change to high-end HU like Clarion D2. Price and function-wise, 701 beats the 360 anytime....
Kwongwing Neutral Newbie January 30, 2007 Share January 30, 2007 But the RF360 comes with a built-in hi-lo converter - if the setup requires such a device then the RF may be a better choice.
Headshok 1st Gear January 30, 2007 Share January 30, 2007 hihi, there is the 3sixty.1 and 3sixty.2 the latter is the 'higher end' one. yes its true its functions are much more limited as compared to the 701,(cannot go 3 way active, and the TA not as flexible as the 701). further more, at the moment its is only compatible with Palm OS. But one thing good its that it will be able to interface with almost all ( i tink should be all ) the OEM head units. i met someone who changed from a jaguar to a saab, he had problems with interfacing the H700 and the controller(which is now with me, hahahah) and he went the 3sixty route which was easier to interface with the system. but ultimately, if, the only edge the 3sixty has over the 701 is that it takes hi low inputs... if u can combine the 701 together with audiocontrol LC6, this combi will be better than the 3sixty. cheers
Kermit 1st Gear January 31, 2007 Share January 31, 2007 agree... I feel it's not worth it to go for RF360 just for the HI-LO converter capability. There are better options, as mentioned by Headshok. In fact, there are many good quality Hi-Lo converters in the mkt, some even act as line drivers. In the long run, the 700/701 is likely to serve better. Imagine when you change car, or finally decide to change HU...and want to go all the way 3-way active+sub...you'll swear at the RF360. Besides, to really save $, can hunt ard for a 2nd hand 700/701. Newkid 2nd Gear January 31, 2007 Author Share January 31, 2007 headshok, you still playing with sub woffers? from the rockford website, windows mobile PDA can tune the 360. my new car is the mark x, need the processor to be concealed and tuned wirelessly. not sure if alpine can be do that. Kermit 1st Gear January 31, 2007 Share January 31, 2007 Oh, one more small but important point. There are presumably fewer users of the 360 than the 700/701. This means that not many installers know how to tweak the 360, compared to the 700/701. Besides, one is more likely to find support from other end-users of the 700/701. Most of us, if not all, who play with processors use the 700/701 right? Of cos, if you're the daring and savvy type...the 360 is one good toy to play with... Headshok 1st Gear January 31, 2007 Share January 31, 2007 yoyo. if u die die want to keep ur oem outlook and want to be able to tune "wirelessly", then the RF is the one for you. but with the alpine, if u forsee urself not tuning it so much, u can have the processor in the boot, then when there is a need to tune, u can attach the controller to the processor, throw the cable just thru the cabin and tune at the seat, once done, remove the controller. thats another way u can do. of course wireless better lah. so now, its just whether u want more fuctions(Alpine+ LC6) or whether u want wireless tuning+ oem integration(RF) and yeah, i'm still playing woofers.. heheh.. more fun than SQ.. ↡ Advertisement
