Any thoughts on the fortuner?

hello guys. jus wanna hear some views from u people. i noe my previous posts was bout the BM camry and the Km accord 2.4.but it looks like my parents are thinking of having a change and getting an SUV instead.we came out wif the options of SUV wif 7 seater capability.

 

we've shortlisted the possibilities

and they are the TOYOTA fortuner

VOLVO XC90

AUDI Q7

 

but the prices for the XC90 and Q7 are a little too high(>150k)so im thinking of getting the fortuner instead.any fellow fortuner-owners here? thanks.

 

btw, im driving the cefiro 230jm currently(my mums)

if don't need 7 seats, go for the CR-V.

suzuki grand vitara or hyundai sante fe are not a bad choice too. the fortuner is basically a truck as it is based on a hilux platform

the fortuner is running on a ladder frame chassis. paying alot for a SUV converted from a pickup.

 

go compare the interiors of the toyota hilux and the fortuner i'm sure you can find alot of similarities...

I've sat in both the XC90 and the Fortuner before.

 

The Fortuner is like a truck on mashmellow wheels. Too high and too bouncy for my liking. The 2.7l engine sounds rough and unrefined as well.

 

The XC90 is more expensive but if you can afford it, why not? Its a true 7 seater and it rides well with a LPT engine.

hmm.i would love to get the XC90 or the Q7. but high price.so its gotta be a no-no to those 2 man.

You shortlist 3 and then exculde 2......... that leaves you with the Fortuner !

 

If that's your only choice, just go test drive again and again to see if its your cup of tea. But be warn, it's FC will be much higer than your 230JM. Friend who switch from CRV 2.0 to fortuner claims he is only getting .

 

 

Take note of the seat height too, cos my mum-in-law had difficulty getting in/out my BIL's fortuner.

hmm.seems like for many fellow MCF-ers are saying,the main liability wif the fortuner would be the poor FC.hmmm. guess i have gotta use either shell 95 or 98 to pump in the future man.lol

 

haha.hey guess u're driving the cefiro 230jm as well right? which year model was it?mines in june 04.wads ur mileage like?
