Anyone knows what's the octane rating for the above? How about Synergy F1?

Just got back from Jaybee and this is my virgin pump of Synergy regular but suddenly I thought, what's the octane level for it?

I think is 92 only right?

Mobil only 2 type of petrol. Synergy F1 and another type.

Synergy F1 is 97. The other type is 92.

I supposed the other type is the Synergy regular.

regular either 91 or 92 (not too sure)

F1 is 97

Malaysia oil is 91/92 and 97 in all stations

(Vpower different of course) [cool]

If your car has a knock sensor, it will try to compensate for the ron92.

The safer option is to pump more 97 or 98 to balance it out.

How about adding those octane booster? Will it work? What are the immediate impact should my car not have a knock sensor?

And cheaper too? RM2.70 right? I was hesitant to pump that one as I thought it was on par with V Power...

It's more cost effective to just add 97/98 since you are paying for fuel also and not just additive.

Octane booster would be useful if you are staying in a place where higher octane is not available.

If your car does not have a knock sensor, then knocking may occur under high load, if your car requires 95.

If you don't find the engine knocking, then you could continue to use it by driving conservatively until you get the min. required 95.

yea at the standard price. i had vpower and it never quite felt good, i mean if u were to compare Vpower in SG. by far i would say Petronas is the best (personally), and f1 follows quite keenly behind

yap, agree, i also felt that petronas is the best. measured the FC and it is the best out of the 5 (mobil, caltex, shell & esso. However, that is based on 1 tank of fuel measurement. Maybe someone else can confirm?
