Azarael Clutched April 11, 2009 Share April 11, 2009 the insight will have lithium ion batteries right.....hmm i doubt it will be put up as a low price. If buy from PI, something wrong with the car's batteries, then how ? kah motor sure sell it at a premium. i think the best bet is still the new 1.8 prius

Astrid 4th Gear April 12, 2009 Share April 12, 2009 I would wait for the new 2009 Toyota Prius. It is a more-accomplished hybrid and with a 1.8L engine now, is definitely a more-powerful car than the Honda Insight. Its FC is also claimed to be >>20km/L. Iygnaug 1st Gear April 13, 2009 Share April 13, 2009 we would all love to drive powerful hybrids with good price. Is that ever possible?
Friendstar Supercharged April 13, 2009 Share April 13, 2009 we would all love to drive powerful hybrids with good price. Is that ever possible? Never!!! unless the govt steps in to offer tax rebates. cos the R&D and development of hybrids are costly to the manufacturers, it'll continue to be sold as a premium
Beehive3783 Turbocharged April 14, 2009 Share April 14, 2009 i would prefer to wait for the FCX Clarity to mature. It's more impressive than the Insight and Prius. Looks better too.
Azarael Clutched April 14, 2009 Share April 14, 2009 thanks for info it seems the new Mercedes S class with the hybrid system will be the one to watch with lithium batteries
Windchoco 1st Gear April 14, 2009 Share April 14, 2009 Personally I think that VW has done a better job with the image of these eco-friendly vehicles.. You don't get the impression that power is sacrificed.

I would also like to save the environment within my abilities lah, being an early adopter for such vehicle really not very worthwhile. Ivanpaseo 2nd Gear April 14, 2009 Share April 14, 2009 (edited) right now i think all the new hybrid car are not really that good as long it using batteries it sucks big time when it ages..... why the hell no one bring in Honda FCX clarity!!! the truely hybrid car using fuel cells to power its electric motor emits only H20 and eats only hydrogen...... and it selling in the states but only in Southern California..... Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear April 30, 2009 Share April 30, 2009 Just 2 days ago they government announced some "green" plan which may give tax rebate for electric car. Hopefully is not for show only
Windchoco 1st Gear May 1, 2009 Share May 1, 2009 Actually, if buy hybrid must service at agent, if u buy normal car but service outside... the savings in your petrol roughly same as your savings in servicing.. wats the pt... Somemore u buy the hybrid at a premium, gov no tax rebate yet... ↡ Advertisement
