Last evening at about 6.15pm at my house car park, the owner of a parked Hyundai forget to pull its handbrake and it rolled forward and knocked onto another parked vehicle in front. The accident caused blockage to vehicles entering the car park and those who intended to enter had to go against the flow of traffic. Someone called '999' and 15 minutes later, a Highway Patrol attended the case. I was wondering, why would Police HQ send a TP Highway Patrol to attend a minor case where an NPC police could be despatched for the same case .... Already hardly see a Highway Patrol on the Expressway nowadays and heavy vehicles are travelling on 1st lane and wtf, attending to minor case in HDB car park. ↡ Advertisement Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have heard stories from ex-cops that even if a crime is committed at an area where the jurisdiction between two NPC overlapped; each will push it away. I have encountered remnants of the old SPF guys in real life; same old mindset in civillian life. Expect to be paid high high and push away responsibility and very little initiative. Now you can understand why crime is low as the faith of its citizen towards the force has diminished over the past 10 years with all the screw ups and bad image it has resulted. Singapore is divided into multiple divisions (A division, J division etc) and the policemen belonging to certain divisions will not want to entertain requests from other divisions. The car was parked diagonally taking up two slots and was not even blocking the traffic in and out of the carpark... So your case is not consider minor to warrant their attention liao! Yes, I had seen TP but those on m/cycles. Thought TP had outsource to Traffic Warden to do the summon and do they need to send their own men to issue summon? The WRX clearly stated at the side "Expressway Patrol". This screening of ownership and waiting for the owner to come to shift his vehicle could had been handed by any NPC officer.
