DIY myself in my company's workshop this Saturday morning. Don't trust anyone to do my cars.

Dont expect proper svc during this CNY weeks.

 

Cause more damage than Good.

 

 

So I also DIY, as usual

 

Done over 2 days. One each for exterior and interior.

 

One more wash and window cleaning this Saturday.

You use 3000 grit wet to sand down? Best to touch up on a hot sunny day, faster cure, then after 2hrs can sand down and polish.

Better, cos I'm doing early morning, rain also best, wash away all my polishing dust.

Just go washing bay, rinse off, and wipe dry, hoh say liow.

yup how you guys touch up? I got this ugly paint chip/scratch on my bumper caused by someone.

You use 3000 grit wet to sand down? Best to touch up on a hot sunny day, faster cure, then after 2hrs can sand down and polish.

I use 2500 first then 3000. But even before i sand I use a sharp razor to shave the excess paint. After shaving I only need to sand alittle to level the paint.

Razor to shave the excess??? Err... not shaving beard leh. I normally build the chip up to a certain level, 3-4 coats, then wet sand it down to level, using 2000 followed by 3000.

Lol. Yeah. Use a razor. Read about it in some detailing websites. But the actual thing they use is actually a titanium block with very sharp edges. Then they just slide the block over the paint and the excess paint will be cut off by the block.

 

Cannot find that kind of block in SG so I improvise and use a shaver lo. Not as good cuz still need to make it level but much faster and I can sand less which means can reduce the amount of clearcoat removed. Only thing is must be careful with the razor and don't inflict more damage.

First time I heard about this, really. Not shave right, scrape off right? I use a sanding block, slowly wet sand down.

Now I don't even bother, touch up with paint and that's it, everytime sure kana stone chip.

Morning 6am start washing, machine car, 10am finish, drive back park, hoh say liow.

Early still cool, wash car, dry then drive into factory, machine the car, finish early go home can do other things.
