Most likely cause by the excavation next to the road, which resulted in heavy soil and/or underground water movement.

The contractor is going to be made responsible for the rectification for sure. Lucky it is not those bungalow alone the road, else the compensation alone will be 7 digits figure at least...

Lornie road going towards Farrer road.. Lane 1 and 2 collapse near PIE exit. Avoid all roads leading towards these 2 roads. Traffic is almost at a stand still.post-81158-0-34591800-1527819838_thumb.jpg

SINGAPORE - Cracks across at least two lanes on Lornie Road caused a massive traffic jam tailing back to Bartley and Serangoon during the morning rush on Friday (June 1).

The Straits Times understands that the cracks are near the ongoing construction site of the Bukit Brown road, caused by an explained subterranean heaving of the earth.

Motorists are advised to avoid this stretch.

The Land Transport Authority is investigating the incident.
