This is priced close to Model 3. So likely to be below S$200k. Add in the petrol savings it would be a compelling buy. Good reviews on the 3rd row and boot space too.

Interesting, just looked up the pricing.

Model 3 standard 38k usd becomes 113+45(158k sgd)

model 3 performance 55k usd becomes 154+45(199k sgd)

model y 7seater 45k usd, should end up around 185k sgd with coe

The headroom with the glass back looks very tight, really cant put adults in there. Even in GLB you can put smaller adults back there but probably not in this if head is touching the glass. But still an attractive option for kids.

If pricing is there it is priced quite well to compete with GLB, disco sport, and to an extent kodiaq, sorento, cx-8, 5008

actually i never drive a full ev before.  does it feel like a CVT?  if so , i wonder how all the driver who hate cvt  will feel next time😁

EVs are direct motor single drive. So it won't feel like CVT or any other auto transmission at all. It delivers immediate power unlike ICE vehicles.

but from logic, and my limited tech sense, i think it would feel 80-90 % similar to a cvt.

u wont feel any thing like what a atf gearbox would feel.

(i guess only😅)

If you step as hard as you drive a truck, confirm long pillar.

You are right, it is somewhat like a cvt, but the power comes on much faster since it's electric motor and not ICE/hybrid.

If u have ride a PMD before, it is exactly like a mini tesla haha

Not really. CVT will have a lag and the so-called rubber band effect which you won't feel in a single drive EV.

There is ZERO lag.

The latest CVTs don't have that rubber band effect anymore. U can try the IVT on the latest Avante and u will know what I mean.

Anyway, back to topic on this Tesla.

6ft and his head is touching the rear glass, good news for Asians, plenty of 5'6” can easily fit the 2 rear seats.

Notice in the video the rear doors are swung out to the max?

Why not do the demo in an actual carpark with cars parked at the sides?

Then we will see how easy it is to get in and out of the 3rd row of seats.

I would say this sentence may lead to people misinterpret what a single speed gearbox is, even though the meaning is actually true.

Single speed gearbox is not like a CVT, it's more like driving in 1st gear (manual or auto doesn't matter) for the whole journey.

The other problem with CVT that people often complain (other than the rubber band effect) is that the engine no power and/or the car is dragging. This is actually a misconception. This is because CVT may allow the engine RPM to be constant but the vehicle speed increase, and therefore the sound from the engine RPM is constant. actually the engine no problem one.

Single gear in EVs won't have this problem. vehicle speed increase, motor RPM also increase, so the sound heard from the motor is consistent with human expectation. Driving with a single speed gearbox feels no different from any traditional gearbox, albeit only 1 gear.
