Specs:

 

Power - 240bhp/5500rpm

Torque - 343/2500rpm

 

Drivetrain - permanent 4WD, lifted out from the Evo 7 GTA.

 

Transmission - INVECS-II 5-speed Auto with Sports mode, from EVO 7 GTA.

 

Engine - 1997cc DOHC 16V, in-line 4 cylinder with intercooled TC. Same engine as in Evo 7 GTA, which is a slightly detuned Evo7 engine.

 

Price - $128,988 for standard model.

$128,988 is non-guaranteed 3 mth bidding, guaranteed is at $130,988.

 

I was at Suntec last Sunday, only thing is that the boot is too shallow & not deep enough for my liking.

 

It looks better than the Subaru Forester Turbo & more powerful. The current Forester looks dated & power was detuned to only 177 BHP.

The 'ROUND AIR CON VENT' looks like a copy from the Alfa . Both my previous 33 have similar design air con vent.

Turbos tend to be rougher and the power delivery is not as smooth as a big block NA.

Cosx, I think each manufacturer has it's own reasons for not adding Turbo or Supercharger to their line-up.

 

Bimmers produce very smooth large displacement engines for their cars. The M3, M5 for example. In my opinon, there's no replacement for displacement.

 

Hondas has been very successful with their DOHC VTEC engines which produces at least 100 BHP per liter, eg is the previous range of Civic EK4 Sir at 1595cc with about 170 BHP, Civic Type-R EK9 1595cc with about 180 BHP & others like Intergra Type-R & Accord Euro-R.

 

Nissan do produce Turbo charged cars. They used to run a Turbo-charged Pulsar car in the WRC but have since stop participating in WRC. Their Turbo line-up are Nissan Silvia Spec R Aero(JDM) or 200SX & of course the famous Skyline GT-R V Spec II.

It's really a silent killer, yah? Sure kenna smoked even before you can say 'What the f***!'

 

The air-con vents, that's really familiar. The Mazda 6 has it too. I remember not too long ago many car mag journalists panned it. Now they say classic Italian styling! How times change.

Actually the Evo's power delivery is very linear compared to the WRX, which has a significant lag. Even the detuned engine has 343Nm of torque at a very usable 2500rpm.

Wow! They have test drives? Will booking a test drive lead to you booking the car?

 

As for PIs, having been thru the PI route, all I can say is that unless I really have no choice I'd rather buy from the authorised agent anytime. No matter what complaints there may be against the authorised agents, they are still much better than PIs.

Quite a bit of softroader bang for the buck, if you ask me, esp when there aren't too many turbo-ed soft-roaders around right now. Looks somewhat different from whatever we see right now on the road - not a bad attempt for an otherwise conservative marque (locally, anyway.....)
