Brax strives to build car audio equipment that provides an absolutely first-class listening experience, and their Matrix line embodies that goal. They hand-assemble every product in Germany using the highest quality parts to give you the best performance possible. If you're looking to build a reference-level system in your vehicle, Brax audio components will put you right smack in the middle of your favorite musical performances.
Smooth High Frequencies
Brax thought a little outside the box when they created their Matrix M3CPP 6-3/4" component system. The tweeter's built from resin-infused silk and coated in black Acronal, so you'll hear smooth, accurate high-frequency response without any piercing peaks. Brax anchors each tweeter in a robust two-piece stainless-steel housing that can dissipate heat much more efficiently than conventional designs. A powerful Neodymium magnet drives the tweeter efficiently so it can keep up with the most intense musical tracks.
The 2" midrange driver, built from the same materials as the tweeter, covers the sonic area between the tweeter and the woofer, bringing warmth to vocals and instruments. With these drivers installed in your vehicle, you'll almost think a window's been opened on all the details in your music, as everything sounds much more realistic and natural.
Detailed, Punchy Bass
Never afraid to use unusual materials in the quest for better sound, Brax built the woofer cone from Agave Sisalana, an incredibly tough natural fiber. The fiber is then treated with aluminum oxide to make a rigid, lightweight cone that delivers clean, punchy bass. A rubber surround and durable spider connect the woofer to a cast-aluminum basket, while a stainless steel phase plug helps to improve dispersion and cool the large hand-wound voice-coil. This beast of a 6-3/4" woofer handles up to 120 watts of RMS power.
Audiophile-Grade Crossover
To eliminate peaks and drops in response, a massive crossover network ensures that the correct frequency ranges get to the proper speakers, using superior components to guarantee high stability with no coloration. It even includes five levels of tweeter attenuation so you can tune the system to your vehicle's acoustics and your taste.
Note: Brax describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.
