Audison SRx1 is a feature-packed monoblock amplifier rated at over 400 watts into a 2-ohm load.

The SRx1 uses the more traditional Class A/B technology rather than Class D used in most of today’s mono amplifiers. This allows the amplifier to be used in a traditional monoblock configuration driving a subwoofer system, or by using two SRx1’s in a Dual Mono configuration, driving a stereo full range speaker system.

The SRx1 is full of useful features. For driving a subwoofer system, a fully variable 24-dB/octave lo-pass crossover is featured. Also on board is a fully adjustable 24 dB-per-octave subsonic filter. For those looking to upgrade a factory system, the SRx1 features a unique, high quality, high-level input stage. This parallels to a high-level bypass output that can either feed the source signal to other amplifiers in the system, or can be used to connect back to the factory speaker system. A signal sense turn on eliminates the need to search for a remote turn on from the high-level source unit. The amplifier automatically turns on when signal is present and supplies a remote out to turn on other components in the system.

One of the most unique features, and proprietary to the SRx1, is the Electric Bass/Acoustic Bass selectable speaker output. Gone are the days of picking a different amplifier, depending on your Basshead or Sound Quality needs, the company says. The SRx1 sports two sets of speaker output terminals. The Electric Bass output provides a damping factor of 300. This setting provides ultimate control of the woofer, according to Audison, and provides a precise, deep bass. This setting is best for under-damped loudspeaker/enclosures, and for those looking for high quality, well-defined bass. With a damping factor of 70, the Acoustic Bass setting is ideal for techno, electronica, and club music, the company says, and is perfect for hitting those high SPL numbers.
