Anti-roll bars also known as anti-sway bars, sway bars or lower tie bars, after the handling of the car on the lower end of the suspension.

Sway bar ties the lower suspension components together across the front or back, and affect a car's over steer and under steer. Sway bars will keep your car flat in turns instead of leaning over to one side. They distribute energy from the side of the car with all the force from the turn on it to the other side of the car. Bringing the whole car down flat instead of leaning to one side. Of course the car will still lean some but not as much.

Sway bars provide better cornering especially at high speeds and work very well in conjunction with strut tower bars. However, they can have an adverse effect in off-road situations by leaving one tire completely off the ground.

The upgrade version of Ultra Racing's anti roll bar will be more effectively preventing the car sway a side at cornering, greatly reduce body roll and high stability in cornering.

Features

Improve handling, stability at high speed and cornering, hence safer driving

Extra thickness of bracket and tubes to maintain constant geometry at all times

Keeps your car flat in turns instead of leaning over to one side

Made of high quality steel, provides more strength

Lets face it, Mitsubishi Attrage is a cheap car. Value for money, point A to point B. Great for fuel efficiency. The issue with this is that they make the car so light that it feels like its going to fly whenever I was doing a turn even if I was going under 50kmh. After some discussions with guys from the Attrage FB group, decided to go into Msia to get both the front strut bar and the anti-roll bars done. Granted I’m not an experienced driver (my first car) so anything I’m writing is my personal newbie opinion. Generally speaking, immediately after installation of the bars, the car felt abit stiffer. The most major difference however is the handling. Now whenever I drive in & out of my estate, the 90 degree turn doesn’t make me feel like I’m going to fly. Same thing as whenever I’m going along Lorong Halus, the handling feels soo much grounded. Like my 70 yr old mother says, “the car feels heavier Fuel consumption hasn’t changed much. I was still able to get a reading of 18.6 km/l from the screen. The bars aren’t that heavy but the handling has improved. I asked my insurance company and as far as I can tell, if its declared to them, they’ll cover the cost of the bars at a premium but other than that they’re fine if I don’t declare.

I was not satisfied by the amount of body roll that is inherent in my 2nd-gen Toyota Wish. Simple turns and cornering at moderate speed (I am not a racer; I have ever been summoned for speeding twice in the 20 years I have been driving) feels uncomfortable and unstable. I paid for a set of Ultra Racing front strut bar + rear anti-roll bar (16mm) from E-rev. The improvement in body roll was immediately noticeable! I can say the magnitude of body roll has been cut by half. Theories and anecdotes throw around online point to the rear-anti roll bar being the major contributor to the improvement. Caveats: 1.) You must declare these modifications immediately to your insurance company. Mine increased the premium by about 4% In response even though I strongly opined that the additions made the car more safe, not less. 2.) I basically paid a few hundred dollars for essentially what are two solid steel bars. Overpriced? Perhaps - I bit the bullet for an established brand (determined by reading numerous online posts especially in foreign car forums). 3.) The car now transmits more bumps and shocks from bad roads than before. Not severe -maybe about +25% Worser than before. Strangely, I feel highway driving is now more smooth. 4.) DO NOT aggresively corner when the road is wet / gives poor traction (eg. Sandy), or is very irregular. You can read up about this characteristic of anti-roll bars from numerous sources online. NOTE: For cars that have 'twist-beam' rear suspensions like the Wish, they already have the 'anti-roll bar' feature built-in. The one I bought is simply another bolted-on stiffener with no moving parts to enhance the original's effects. For cars with fully-independent rear suspensions, they will have to get true 'anti-roll bars' which require bushings mounted to the chassis so the bar can rotate to work.
