  1. I don't know about you guys, but when i watched the first half, i was thinking Pool will get trashed... Such was how poor the team played. Macallister showed he was out for a while, and played so poorly i was suprised he lasted so long - but then again there was no obvious choice waiting on the bench anyway. Then at different times, different players would somehow play badly, slipped, or get bumped off the ball, putting the team under real pressure. It's incredible that they could not put even one chance away, and Pool got away with it.

And as the a soccer match would have it, 2nd half the tide turned and Pool managed to somehow score 2 goals. Job done.

But whatever has been written, i think the team has to improve tremendously if wannt fight for league champion. Will not always be so lucky. If Pool had beaten both Utd and Arsenal at Anfield, there would have been some breathing space. But the draws mean have to get more points than the other teams every week...

guess it's the loss of confidence with the KDKs, plus worried really will at short interval then the others will require repair too... so might as well make use of the "already paid/paying transport liao, take the chance to more since about time..."

It's like if let's say radiator leak need to go workshop replace and need to leave car there one day, very inconvenient liao. Then halfway workshop called to say, err... actually just happened to find out that the cooling coil is starting to have hairline crack and will likely start leaking soon, so ask if you wanna change it on the same day, or take the chance and wait till actually leaking then leave the car there another one whole day to replace...

That’s really unfortunate. It almost sounds like one of those workshops that offer free checkups for your aircon.

In my case my fan was one of the mid/upper range 5-bladed models, and used it a lot as it was in the living room. Never had a reason to even ask a repairman to come, though.

my living room one also 5 blades, 5 speeds.

two bedrooms' ones are bit smaller, 3 blades, 3 speeds.

my girl often hides in the room and will on it like most of the day... but that's now and when we first moved in, she was still in P3 so was still in the living room often. but it was the first to spoil...

The box fan in my mums kitchen is older than me. Other than very difficult to turn its knob switches. Still working. Revolving cover and all.

wah lao... simi brand one? if company still around, this is solid testimony. you can ask them to pay you to advertise for them... :XD:

Why change when still can spin...becos of 30 dollah spend more dollah...😁

the box fan cost >$100 when new. Those days fans were not yet very cheap, and i think my grandma wanted a decent one...

The fan itself can work still, all 3 speeds, but the revolving cover that can oscillate, took a direct hit when it was knocked down by my nephew, so the wholnot e cover got dislodged. Essentially only blow at one direction lor... since no more oscillating/revolving cover. This was fine for me in office, but not so useful at home anymore as it'll only blow at one area...

Anyway, I have no issue with my KDK wall and ceiling fan. Many years liao.

But if you want to buy KDK stand fan, get the Panasonic one also can. Exactly the same and I remembered it’s cheaper.

On Panasonic, my grandmother bought one box fan, when she went to my parents' flat to sleep probably 30 yr ago... It's still working now... a pity that maybe 20 yr ago, my nephew pushed it off the table accidentally and the revolving cover broke... but the motor was ok and it still turns perfectly. I then took it to my office as standby to use when i had to work OT or after central aircon is switched off. didn't use it a lot, but last month tested still working...

    really power...

Oh for sure. But mine was 10 year and counting. Other brands clearly start failing much earlier.

Everyone can have their own opinion, it can differ but it doesn’t cancel someone else’s experience out.

my KDKs PCB started having problems around i think 4-6 yr period leh... so disappointed.

we actually got the tech to come look at my girl's room one only, as it gave a really loud squeaking sound when switched on. The room is the furthest from the main door.

after assessing, told us PCB needed replacement, and said something like $80, plus got think $30 transport. LL had to do lor...

then after done, while on his way out, walked past our master room, saw the same model, so he asked if we want him to check too, since he's already here (and we're going to pay the $30 transport already)... so ok lor, let him check - thinking that it should be all right cos doesn't have the sound.

then when he checked, told us the PCB got bit spoilt too, and showed us the timer doesn't work anymore... we were like, wah lao... originally didn't want to change but he said if next time call again, will incur another transport of $30... so... shit, change also lah...

finally, after done, and walking out, at our living room, saw the bigger KDK, and asked us the same question...

you guessed it, for the same reason, we said check lor... and when he tested the remote (without looking at the PCB yet), told us of 5 speeds, speed 4 and 5 are the same, so the PCB is also pai liao...

and shit, this bigger fan, the PCB is $20 more ex...

So, from thinking KDK is last long long, became "repair/change one become repair/change all three"...

    can't say KDK fantastic anymore...

Kdk DC fans also need pcb replacement one lah.

Look at what Atrecord says. Anecdotally that ties in with all I've read before.

    yup.

The technician that KDK sent - he was a freelancer - when i asked him why KDK nowadays spoil after few years, unlike the ones i saw in my classrooms when a kid - those never ever spoilt - to which he said if things last so long, the company how to survive...

It's kinda ok. cos there's really only just a few spots in my house that doesn't have a ceiling fan.

I have 8 ceiling fans + 1 kitchen corner fan in my home lol.

    wah...

i got 4 in bed rooms, 2 in balcony, 1 in living room. 4 different models/brands. 12 yr now.

3 KDKs (with remote) all replaced PCBs before, around 4-5 yr stage. 1 is noisy again, but we're bearing with it.

    of the 4 non-remote ones, 3 spoilt before/now.

Still got one small circulator in kitchen, and 2 more tower/oscilating fans...

earlier this year got one Airleo...

If 1 vs 1, you can do that.

When it is a pack, avoid it from far away.

Stand firm and look into the eye

After a while, it will run off by itself.

Did that a number of times.

    this brings back memory.

in JC, my ECA group went for camping trip in Ubin.

As seniors, we took turns to take the juniors through the camp. During one hiking session, apart from the few on duty, the rest of us seniors (about 10 of us) were slowing strolling behind the trainees (juniors), partly making sure nobody drops anything or get left behind.

Then at one point, someone in the group (of us) suggested to take a short cut instead of following the trainees' route. But i said still need at least person to be behind the trainees, so volunteered to continue following... while the rest took short cut back to our camp site.

The original route was a known path through the forested ubin vegetation, and i just walked along, alone. After a short while, a pack of wild dogs appeared from the left of the vegetation area, from quite far away, and started barking and running towards me...

I was like shit, in that instance, dunno whether i should try to often-told way of standing my ground and looking at the dogs, but one look at the pack (of maybe around 10) of dogs running at me... and i decided better not try my luck in that deserted area, so started sprinting ahead.

as i ran, the dogs closed up, and at one point, i could feel the heel of one leg hitting something as i ran. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess it must have kicked the head of a dog that was closing in.

Got no time to think at all, but thinking back, it was unthinkable... if the dogs had caught - and maybe - bit me.

Fortunately, at that critical moment, there was a loud yell from the direction of where the dogs came from originally, and the dogs then stopped chasing me... i turned my head to take a look, and from far, could see an old man there yelling at the dogs. There was also a hut further away, and i gathered that the old man must have kept the dogs and so they listened to him...

I also didn't stop, but just continued running - albeit not at the sprinting pace anymore - ahead, towards where the trainees had gone.

TMD, those dogs must be really 欺善怕恶

I don't find McAllister impressive.  Know he's being played out of position but given the number of chances (and fouls) given,  there must be surely a better player who deserved playing time.

As for the Luton game, it was a no-show from everybody (except for Lucho)

Allison also made a few saves. else it would have been worse...

  13. memory not fantastic nowadays, but can't really remember another match that pool played so badly. apart from the nunez - and jota's - misses, there was almost nothing of note, except if there's prize for backwards passing, sure to win hands-down.

dunno this season play this new what type of formation with TAA coming to midfield to be playmaker, can yield what results at the end of the season. TAA is not a good defender, is not fast, and is not pirlo, who can dictate play at will. when the midfield can't think of ways to go past the parked bus, and the attackers are off-form, it calls for a bad day at the office.

good thing diaz equalised, which was somewhat fortunate. It was a shoulder-neck-headed goal in equal measure...

i think other than allison, don't think anyone else deserves real credit for the match...

this standard cannot even get into europe... better hope for drastic improvement...

oh, mgb phased out? I tot APB was before MGB? i felt the mgb we built so painstakingly when on course, was a total waste of time when i was posted to 38, and saw the AVLB only took like 5 min to launch the bridge which was the same length as the 24 (or was it 12) bay MGB that a platoon will take about 2 hr to build...

    i really hope it's a lot more than 7k...

i had the impression that the mother of the victim was like my office cleaner - not rich type...

7k wouldn't have been enough to pay for the milk powder, diapers, school fees and meals spent on raising the kid up to NS age... and a whole life was gone. i didn't even ask if he was an only child - i hope not...
