    Will also heed @Watwheels advise to do spontaneous cleaning time to time so I can procastinate washing.

    Anyway for anyone wondering, I have bad experience with car wash because some of them like to reuse the same cloth and sometimes there are debris which they didnt realise that scratch your car without you knowing. 🙂

    I am getting lazier in washing my car.
    But I wish to wash it myself.

    Any recommendation for All-In-One (AIO) product that I can do in less than 20mins?
    Preferably something that I can just spray water, apply, wipe off.

    Not trying to achieve any outstanding results after wash.

    Just a clean exterior will do.

  3. The car can be driven but is not safe to do so according to the technician.

    My Dad have to sign an idemnity form that say that if anything happen to him or the car, Komoco will not be liable.

    Im a layman, base on what I googled, ECU will help regulate many respect of the car meaning the car may overheat and it could be dangerous. But I may be wrong. In any case, I don't think it is safe and future warranty may be voided if we were to go ahead.

     

    I have gotten the technician in charge of the car to feedback to the management.

    If he cant deliver the replacement car, I will try to lay in touch with the management.

     

    But it doesnt sound promising because he told me our purchase agreement and warranty does not grant us any replacement car.

    My Dad's Accent ECU is down


     


    We have been waiting for 3 weeks.


    Today, we were updated that there will be a delay as Accent ECU is made to order.


    It will arrive earliest by 13 Sep... not including repair time... which means a down time of 2 months.


     


    Although it is under warranty but there will be no replacement car.


     


    Any advice?


    Is this the norm?


    And no replacement car as well?

  5. Any one here experience ECU of Accent spoil?


    Its a 1 year old Accent.


     


    It was down 3 weeks ago and they say the car is no longer safe to drive so they have to ground it.


    They say the delay is due to the fact that the ECU comes from Korea but they will expedite.


    Although it is under warranty but there will be no replacement car.

  6. Question is why would you want to do that.

     

    The thing is I do not want to.

     

    But my Dad's Hyundai Accent is a bread and butter car and he does not want to spend so much.

     

    Because 175/70/r14 is a very rare size, the difference in price between this and 175/65/14 is about 30% different.

     

    For 4 wheels, the amount is quite substantial.

    We intend to change it in Malaysia to save cost.

    But we cant seem to find that.

    Workshop is suggesting 175/65/14

    Does it work?

    The WS is indeed not my insurance authorised WS.

    I paid more so my insurance allow me to go to any Workshop (not just the authroised one).

    I bought this insurance because mine is a new car and I have to go to my authorised WS to prevent warranty void.

     

    When I was recommended to this WS, the uncle was very convincing and I was sold. Or maybe I am just too gullible.

    So its a triple whammy for me now because I risk my warranty to go to his WS, he didn't file so I cannot claim, the other party can claim me full since I have no defence. :(

     

    Yes I understand this is a lesson learned. And lesson learnt it is.

    I signed those documents so I have to shoulder the blame as well.

    The ball is in his court now so I have no game.

    I will accept it as it is.

    I have to stomach this.

    Cos he send me some authorisation to act form which I signed and mention "your comment we will reserve all legal rights!" so I presume he is threathening to sue me.

     

    I guess there is no way one can be more prudent as long as the Workshop have intention to do what they intend to do.

    Or maybe Im just too simple minded. :(

    After pressuring him to give me the law firm that act on my behalf, he dropped the bomb...

     

    He say he didnt commence the claim because he "think" it may not succeed...

     

    Now, not only will I not get back my 2k deposit from him, the other part claim against me also ballooned because I did not make any claim against the other party...

  11.  i suggest u check with the lawyer that help u deal with the claim.

     

    before the work begin, u need sign a lawyer letter. warrent to act or something. 

     

    if u didnt sign any lawyer letter, and he collect 2k from u and say he claim.

    My assumption is tat the WS did not file the claim on your behalf wother other party insurance company. That probably one of the reason the other party took so long to claim against you after one and half year.

     

    WS probably take the 2k as repair cost for your car. The other party claim against you likely to be settle by your insurance company.

     

    I see. I did not know that no claim will result in delay.

    Perhaps that was also why I ended up getting claim by the other party since I did not bring any claim against him.

     

    But yes, the other party claim against me was settled by my own insurance because they send a lawyer to defend against my claim but they have no knowledge if the WS make any claim against the other party.

  12. Actually, when the Boss refuse to get an update for me from the other party insurance company, that is when I became more wary.

    Because I just cannot wrap my head around why would he refuse to help me get an update.

     

    I started on this thread because when I was browsing for similar incidence, I come across another thread complaining them as 2nd hand car dealer.

     

    I am fine with paying the 2k.

    But I am not ok if I am paying the 2k because he forget to file the claim.

    Some of my friend is also suggesting that the claim is successful and that he pocketed both sides. But I am skeptical about this because it seems to be too big a conspiracy.

     

    So my question again is, is there any definitive way I can bypass my authorised workshop and get an update from the other party insurance company?

    Was you the named driver on the insurance policy?

     

    Ride under your name? Premium didn't increased upon renewal?

     

    Lastly any black and white; like form where you signed and doucmemted in how the insurance happened?

     

    Official receipt when you paid 2k?

     

    My insurance company says that it is 2 separate claim.

    They are only handling the claim by the other party on me.

    For my claim on the other party, it is handled by the Workshop.

     

    I am the named driver and the premium did increase in 2019.

     

    I have a receipt stating I paid 2k. But need to go find. Haha.

    Summary of my case:

    Involve in an accident in 2017 and paid up for my own repair first although I am claiming the other party.

    2 years on, the Workshop tells me that there is no update on the claim and they will keep my 2k deposit until the other party insurance get back to me.

     

     

    A more detail write-up

    I was being hit by another car (supposingly rented) in June 2017.

     

    So based on my friend's father advise, I went to a Workshop in Woodlands Road to make the claim against the other party.

    I am pretty inexperience in this area so I just follow the advice by the Workshop Boss.

    He told me that he is an ex-SPF and Hwa Chong grad or something, and all his friends are lawyer etc. So he knows the stuff and will handle it for me.

     

    Long story short, he mentioned that it is a 50-50 case.

    In fact the chances of me claiming successfully is not high according to him.

    So he requested that I pay him for my own car damage upfront (about $2k) and if the claim is successful, he will refund me the 2k.

     

    In mid 2018, the other party have claimed my insurance.

    As for my claim against the other party, the workshop mentioned that there is no update.

    Till date, they are still holding on to my 2k.

    So I asked the Workshop Boss to email the other party insurance company and get back to me on the status but he refuses and chided me for being ungrateful because he is actually helping me in a 50-50 case.

    I explained to him that I am asking him to do so only because I am unable to do so. I have tried getting an update from the other party insurance but they ask me to go through my authorised workshop.

     

    So my question is

    1. Is there any way I can get an update on my claim status against the other party without the Workshop?
    2. Is it possible that the Workshop have forgotten to claim the other party it is too late to claim now?

    Thanks all.

    I am really at a lost now on what to do because the Workshop refuses to assist me yet the other party insurance request that I follow-up with my authorised workshop directly.

    I face exactly the same scenario as you. I booked my accent (lagoon blue) in Jul first bidding, secure my COE in jul 2nd bidding and face the same delay duration from August to September and to October too. Did U manage to get any new update on the shipment?

    Very sorry to hear about this.

     

    My SE was pretty upfront with me. He screenshot the delay of the shipment for my Dad's Lakesilver. It arrived in early Sep.

     

    But there was a further delay after the shipment arrives and my SE explain clearly to me the scenerio.

    He says that the car is not at Komoco but was handled by the appointed shipping company which cause the delay. He says that it depends on our luck because shipping is by first in last out scenerio. Ours was delayed because it is somewhere at the back.

     

    What he can do is try to pull strings to get them to retrieve the car earlier., which is a hassle to them.

     

    Fortunately, we got our car last week.

     

    Maybe you can speak to your SE nicely and make him or her understand that you really need the car.

    Base on my understanding, different colours arrive in different shipment.

    And this cost is excluding ur Road tax

     

    U should ask for compensation

    I thought the road tax and COE will ot start counting until they register the car? Or am I wrong?

     

    But there is alpt of hidden cost for the delay, like mt Dad have to borrow my car to fetch my mum and I have to pay parking on both ends etc.

    Mine is Lake Silver as well.

    But till date totally no news and cannot get a confirm date.

     

    May I know if Komoco gave you any form of compensation out of good gesture?

  17. Actually my Dad needs the car because my mum is starting work next week at a very inconvenient location.

    And she chose the start date of her work because of this reason.

    So... its a hassle for her to travel especially since she is not young anymore.

     

     

    In addition, may I ask how long after the registration of the car, will we receive the car?

    Because in my previous instant, it was 1 day after the registration but Komoco mention its 4 days in my Dad's case.
