Strange, till know there's isn't any confirm hit by Israel missiles on the internet. No video. No one talking.. Did the missiles even reach the target?

Netanyahoo probably gave the iranian supreme leader a call first la.... hey bro, I going to send a few missiles over [laugh] Not going to hit anything, don't worry. But help me save face leh, don't hit back ok?

Same like the iranians gave plenty notice to the israelis and time enough for them to react in the drone attack, because drones fly slowly.

It is just about face-saving on both sides. Quite comical.

    Dey ….. it’s 72 virgins lah 😇

It's interesting why 72 and not a nice round metric number like 100 [laugh]

This probably has root in the ancient sumerian or babylonian number system in the times predating the middle eastern religions. A base 12 system that eventually settled into a base 60 system. 72 is divisible by 12 giving a remainder of 6.

It was only the arabs centuries later on that used the base 10 system.

So yeah, weird why it is 72 virgin and not 100.

It's a new norm - Both sides openly striking each other's territories from home base. No more unconfirmed involvement, no more proxies.  Going to get worse.

But both sides taking care not to do any real damage, if you notice. Iran's drone and missile attack on israel had little impact. I bet the israeli return strike also is just a slap on wrist compared to their usual scale of responses. Each side like just want to please their supporters while hoping to have the last word. The tit for tat attacks all calibrated to avoid extreme provocation of the other, hoping the other will finally let the matter rest.

The iranians seem very nonchalant after the israeli attack , scenes from the location of the explosion does not betray any panic or large scale of destruction.

really wondering all these people who comes up with such ideas have any experience setting up their own business or not lo ... say until so simple , then you try to be your own boss and see if you can give such options or not lo ....

Some SME , 2-4 man show only .... how to give such options ....

I suspect there are 2 hidden motives to such crowd pleaser initiatives.

One, to please the younger electorate, just in time and good timing lah, so to speak.

Two, flexi work hours actually enable moonlighting or part timing at another job more easily. Opens a door towards getting more income and helps a bit to alleviate high cost of living, a real problem now.

Actually companies no need to worry too much. It's just a wayang, after all, in the original announcement of the move, govt already gave a playbook of how such requests can be legitimately rejected. Already have 10-year series answer there.

This kind of Flexi work arrangement can only fit individual contributors who are responsible for concrete deliverable like a product or project. And these people, professionals or specialists , will work all hours and odd hours anyway, it doesn't make a difference. Because they are held accountable for the end result.

But for jobs that need liaising with others, administrative roles etc. the most flexibility can be granted is an hour later, an hour later, kind of thing. Such employees if they want to start late and work till 7pm-8pm is meaningless because who will work with them at those hours?

a young lady friend went solo to spain recently.

i sat her down and told her that the romantic vision of europe people grew up with is dead and long gone for many parts. whats in our mind from books, movies etc is no more. get that out of her imagination.

for the last 15 or so years, disastrous uncontrolled illegal immigration and lack of law enforcement has ruined it. eastern europe seem to have been less effected.

but there has even been beheadings in britain and france. sweden is gainging reputation for violent crime and rapes.

while this case seem to be singaporean... open eyes big big when going there, never take safety for granted anymore.

Close to 30 years back, my spouse travelled with a friend, touring europe for close to a month to celebrate graduation from uni. Both female. At some places, stay in hostels to save cost. Those days not much travel info on the web. Rely on lonely planet guides. Europe was a safer place then. Don't think it'd be wise to do that now.

Don't laugh SG got 2 Interpol officer go Vietnam and Taxi driver cheated them and stole their handphone!

Correction: Not stated taxi driver stole their Iphone maybe they just lost it in the taxi as they may have been kancheong.

    :D

Two Singaporean men who are participating in the 80th Interpol General Assembly in Hanoi were cheated by a local taxi driver.

The taxi driver charged them 40 times the normal fee and even stole their cell phone.

Before I read the amounts involved, first thought in my mind is that in these countries using currency like dong or rupiah, even if they cheat you, it is still cheap [laugh]

The family thought she was travelling alone.

I agree with you that we need to do some research on the places we intend to tour, and turn on the alertness level when called for. Even JB is risky if we throw caution to the wind.

  10. If scam, they'll turn up later. But those missing without a trace, likely victim of petty crime gone awry, got killed and body disposed somewhere.

Police in those countries mostly quickly close case, can't understand much English anyway, and won't be bothered if it's a foreigner victim.

People should be more careful venturing to these countries. The Mediterranean and Eastern part of Europe are quite different from the more developed Western and Scandinavian part.

    Quite a light hearted look.

Still... it's a direct state attacking isreal, this has never gone unanswered. Unless there's some SERIOUS behind the scenes work,  part 2 can still happen.

US saying it won't take part in a retaliatory strike... why does it have to say that unless they are worried. 🤔😬

The US is already telling Israel: just consider it a win.

After all, the drone and missile attack by Iran did not cause much harm.

In return, Israel got away with taking out 7 iranian IRGC senior ranking officials.

I am curious to see how companies would administrate this FWA from 1 Dec. I believe many companies still don't believe FWA, esp allowing WFH for their employees. And esp when in a company where those decision makers are those old school type of mindset and management styles, they only accept employees must be physically come to office to work then consider working. For all others arrangement, it means the employee is skiving from work.

Tesla, Amazon, Google, many others, have already shown how they view remote working. Unless someone in the G thinks he is smarter and all these giants are wrong.

And on the same day of this announcement, already a warning for those that press too hard on "flexible work"

But we all know nothing gonna change coz that someone will still be holding the strings.

What do you think? That someone has to ensure the seat is only kept warm and not permanently sat on [laugh]

As much as I am excited about a personality like lawrence taking over the PM seat - as he appears to be not made in the conventional mould of previous PMs, so we can expect refreshing solutions to our challenges - I hope he is confident enough to build his own following and genuine support from his colleagues, and can be his own man.

What makes u think conti ice car can also last in our hot weather lol

I mean, parts can just deteriorate faster in hot weather and give you warning lights, leaks etc. necessitating trips to the workshops.

But those lithium batteries ..... [laugh]  Anything with lithium ion or lithium polymer, just beware. To be treated with respect for the sake of their volatility. Problem is that general public don't have that level of awareness and the car manufacturers also do not want customers to be too conscious of it.

Can't help noticing, age group 25-34 - the prime fertile period [laugh]

Could he have guessed that today, at 30+ only then women will start considering having a kid after settling career which tends to be more hectic when first starting out.

This is also one of the cause of low TFR, at that age is no longer the prime period for conceiving. Then the men even worse at late 30 or reaching 40 (generally husbands are older than the wife), the sperm also bo-lat already, less active and higher chances of defective or non-viable sperm.

It's a double whammy, unless go find 20s bride from mail order countries.

To be fair to him many politicians are like that.

Trump, Putin, Xi all the same.

A number of those hostages are dead by now anyway or fates unknown, dispersed around among the different militant movements.

Hamas also doesn't know for sure the status and location of each of these hostages in the fog of the ongoing war.

Don't know. Same like tesla, byd and other EVs. Having worked with lithium and other rechargeable batteries a lot, I know that heat is a problem for these batteries. Anything also will overheat [laugh] How they will fare in our hot weather here in the long-term is yet to be seen.
