How come your warranty is 6 years? (2016 to 2022)

Be careful with the cam wiring, do go to a reputable shop to do it. Poor wiring fix can cause the battery to be drained and might affect warranty.

Warranty is 5yrs. The car is reg on Jan 2017..no much different from 2016.

If you really want to avoid warranty issue, install Cellink (or similar).  Cellink charged via ciggy.

For car battery, it is not worth the effort as it requires registration of the battery in ECU.

Once it is registered, it is likely charged like a new car battery.  It might speed up the demise of the battery.

Thanks for the advice. I am going back to Foon Audio who installed the cam on my Jetta.

Ya, agreed abt battery. Just feel wasted as the battery is only 1 mth old.

  2. Hi,

Just bought a used 2016 216d AT. Warranty with PML till 2022 and free servicings.

Going to swap my 6mths old Pirelli tyres with the AT's RFT coz too bumpy. Old back cannot take it.

The current AT has no camera so I intend to bring over my front n rear cam (iRoad X9) from my Jetta. Will it void the warranty? Can't do without cam though.

Also thinking of transferring my brand new batt from my Jetta to the AT.

Is it possible and feasible? Will it cause any issue? I intend to turn off the start/stop as I don't really like it during the test drive.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Hi,

I am considering to buy a pre-owned Kadjar 1.2 petrol.

Been driving Skoda and VW but never a french car.

Just want to check what are the common issues with Renault Kadjar 1.2L and the level of difficulty in servicing and sourcing of spare parts.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Hi,

I have a few occassions when the fan kept running after I had shut down the engine.

The first time it happened, I just turned on the engine for 1 min to shift my car. When I shut it down, I can see the fan turning. I turn on and off the engine again and it was gone.

The 2nd time happened when I was using the car battery (engine not on) to vacuum. After I shut everything down, the fan remained. After about 5 mins, it went off.

The 3rd time happened when I shut down the engine and turned it on again after 2mins. I drove it for about 100m before shutting down. The fan remained and I had to restart the engine and shut down again.

Anyone had similar experience? Is this normal? My MK6 Jetta is the non-sport version.

  5. can name a few ?

I had a rather unpleasant experience with Henly so preowned arm of AD is definitely my choice for used car dealer.

I just bought a used car from Select Premium (preowned arm for Performance Motors) and had very good experience. Everything went smoothly. I just sit back and relax while they did all the works.

Had 12 months warranty given too. Went back yesterday as there was an issue with the abs. A faulty speed sensor was replaced with no question asked. Since it was under warranty, no cost is involved.

Guess other preowned arm of AD should be good as well. At least, no worries about mileage tampering, unwillingness to repair faulty parts, etc.

  6. To be fair, Henly is giving me about $2K discount for the car. So, it will be around $76000 for a Aug 2013 car.

I saw a similar car at Select but Aug 2012. Select is willing to sell at $70K and no admin fee.

Which one will you guys choose?

  7. The sales refuses to reduce the admin fee. I wanted to get the car from Select which has no admin fee but Henly has a better and cheaper one. Haiz....guess either I LL pay the $500 or move on then.

I am very keen on the car and I am prepared to put the deposit tomorrow after test drive (today got no time to do so).

But I just feel that admin fee is not very fair, especially at $500.

  8. This dealer is like a middleman between buyer and seller. But I still don't understand why cannot test drive.

Anyway, I have decided to forego this and continue looking.

I can see there are a lot of used Volvo but the price not very attractive.

  9. $91K to me is bigger than rocket leh.I also don't feel good about not being able to test drive the car.

Wearnes preowned don't have 2012 S60. They only have S80 T4 which I have no interest.

Guess I need to continue my search then.

Thanks for all the kind advices!

  10. Thanks for all the advices.

The one that I had in mind is this:

    http://m.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=575939

The only factor pulling me back is I cannot test drive the car. I can start the engine, look under the hood but no test drive. The explanation is because the car dun belong to them so cannot drive.

Also cannot bring to 3rd party workshop as the company claimed that they had carried out the necessary checks.

I expect heavy fuel consumption but not really an issue as my Skoda is a drinker too.
