I really like their 2024 KIA Sportage 1.6L hybrid, but it never come Singapore at all.

My dad still got the old mindset in 2024 that Korean car like KIA and Hyundai more difficult to maintain and not much resell value when selling perhaps 6-7 years time later compare to Toyota as he drove Honda and Toyota throughout his life.

I told him downgrade the car as he tiring soon no need to drive such a big car with high installment and road tax. So I recommend him KIA NIRO Hybrid SX or Hyundai Avante Hybrid but of course cannot compare with current PI 2.0NA Toyota Harrier SUV that we had now.

He never even test drive these Korean brand before, die die don’t want these 2 Korean brand then say Conti expensive + high maintenance fee and he dislike Mazda. Not much choice left, I told him then you go test drive the 2024 1.6L facelift Toyota Corolla Altis which also around $150K as we looking for new car these few months as the new 2.5L Harrier Hybrid cost $235K, wth $235K for a Toyota is really sucks.

Saw the Sportage there too, really looks good. Here cars are priced too high now with little models to choose from.

In fact, it's not for any Right Hand Drive market because from past sales, RHD Market K5/Optima has poor and poorer sales. Hence KIA decided to ditch producing for RHD market K5. It's a pity because this K5 is really a looker.

Just came back from Korea and these new models of Korean cars from Kia and Hyundai are really a looker. But buy 1 new Staria here can buy 6 there. Haha.

The govt don't owe anyone explanation or owe anyone compensation for any change in direction of their policy ... Take reference of parliamemt sessions.

Just look at most recent change: removal of CPF SA account and SA shielding.

    Welcome to Singapore.

That’s why people should vote wisely. They have the majority so anyhow change without asking anyone. Or they only ask those pro policies people? Here is getting worse and worse.

    Today in parliament,

    1. The minister for transport (Chee Hong Tat) says need careful studies for one-off rise in vehicle population.

    Ref: https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-markets/transport-logistics/singapore-open-to-idea-of-one-off-rise-in-vehicle-population-with-higher-usage-based-charges-chee

    2. The minister of state for transport (Amy Khor) says need careful studies for separate COE category for private hire vehicles.

    Ref: https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-markets/transport-logistics/private-hire-coe-category-possible-but-needs-careful-study-new-measures-to-stabilise-private-hire-taxi-supply

I thought such studies should already had been carried out and today they should be presenting the results and proposals in parliament. These are not new issues.

Maybe new minister just came in need time. Previous minister too occupied with other affairs.

Careful studies is the new term for monitoring? I think just collect more money for high mileage users and continue to collect money from normal users since they are starting to use the new IU system.

Frankly, what is the obsession with all the loud engine noises?

I thought people want car  that it is as quiet as possible?

Dunno, but the noisy cars I see usually are cars that are not very good in performance and the drivers want people take a 2nd look at them and thinking that their cars are super cars like Lamborghini or Ferrari. In fact, usually are the Lancers acting as Evos.

To these people, even the next U turn is just slightly in front, they still find very far. So most drivers like to take the easy way out by cutting across several lanes or cut dangerously to get where they want to go.

Maybe to them petrol is very costly and precious. More precious than their lives. Ask them don’t drive better. Confirm save a lot of money.

Actually this means that COE can be very low actually.  If all the dealers just sell at low NG rates, they will bid low.  So quota can be 1000 and 10000 bids but it every one bids a few hundred dollars for the coe, the coe will still plunge.

Not saying that car dealers collude cos it’s illegal :D but since it can be done independently after a motor show, it can be also done independently in the other months as well.

Same can be said for petrol companies. 1 up, all up.

LTA fault lah...why boh dai boh jee go draw parallel white lines there?!?!?😁

Draw doesn’t people will obey. The yellow box outside FairPrice Hub, everyday when I drive home confirm got people cross just to go to the most right lane to U turn. Just want to save some time. The funny thing is there’s another u turn just slightly in front at the next junction which is not far away.

Haha  you are bad.  But that bend is an exception of all the expressways in SGP that  i have ever expericned. I happen to have chance to  drive both merce and Odyssey on that same  stretch from time to time,  the merce had no feel of that problem at all but was quite obvious on the two diff odyssey models that i owned.  So i believe the poorer road holding cars  are more susceptible to skiding there.

Someone should review all accident videos on that road and this will come up with a list of those poor road holding cars.
