    iPhone 11 - launching 10th Sep 2019

To me, the iPhone has been getting really too exp. I was excited and was contemplating to make the switch when the new XS launch, but when I saw the pricing, I got a shock. Now with my plan going to be up, I'm waiting to see the price of their new flagship phone. I doubt it will get any cheaper.

    Most Improved Car Brands

I'm surprised where you have included Honda as a growing brand. My thoughts are that it should be included as a consistent brand for the Singapore market. My points are CR-V -> it is considered a premium vehicle now, however, I do still see quite a number of them on the road. They have been moving quite consistently over the various generations. Although I would choose the Harrier over the CR-V. HR-V (aka Vezel) has been consistent in terms of sales and widely adopted by PHV companies due to its fuel consumption and low maintenance. Civics -> With the new generation, there are so many of them on the roads. I think the above 3 models and with the new Accord coming in, I would say they should be parked under consistent brands.

    2019 All new Mazda 3

Totally agree. Even in Australia where the roads are long and hilly, higher CC cars are better. I remember renting a 1.4l Hyundai Getz going road trip at Tazmania up a small mountain. I was surprised that the engine didn't kaput on my way up. It was the most excruciating drive as I couldn't even outrun a trailer carrying logs on the highway.
  4. Haha, I have owned a car for many years, never realised this.

    Petrol Price Movement in Singapore

Haha same. The only time I start comparing is on which petrol station gives the most discounts. When really need to pump, we have no choice but to do so even if the price is high.
  6. Haha I totally agree.. I will always give those agents the "WT Fish" look when they mentioned that >= 600m to 1 km is a decent distance.. My parent's and my new place both are 3 mins walk to the nearest MRT station. I'm too pampered and will not consider anything more than 6 mins of walking.

2018 Kia Cerato K3 / Forte (BD Series)

I agree to a certain extent. In my opinion, it boils down to how each country views working on a production line. What I meant is, the Japanese (is perceived to) takes more pride in their work as compared to the workers in Thailand. That's why the build quality might be slightly off. For the example you have provided between Corolla and Vios, it's difference segment cars and the noise insulation (NVH) should be deliberately tweak so that people would want to spend more on a higher "quality" vehicle. It's like Merc C and E class, there is also a difference between the NVH (Disclaimer: it's just an example to show case the difference in quality) I do understand what you're saying. Overall, QC or QA should be maintained at a high standards.

As long as the Quality Assurance is done properly, it doesn't matter where it is manufactured.

    Is SPC fuel quality#%&@?

I pump both SPC and ESSO. I get better FC with ESSO but I will still go for SPC as it's much cheaper.
  10. I don't mind paying more for something that I see that have value in it. I took a look at the new Camry and I really do like the design, interior look and space of the car, however, there are certain areas I still find tough plastics that shouldn't be there at that price point. The Mazda 6 at a much lower price point has much better materials. However, this is still up to the tastes of the buyers and individual likes are subjective. From value perspective and based on my understanding, Toyota usually makes tweaks their cars according to the market their in. Example: In the US, they travel long distances therefore the parts they use are very specifically created for their market. For SG or South East Asia, the parts are created to be more resilient for start stop traffic. My dad loves the Toyota brand, but I do prefer design. I would pay more for a nicer car that I like.. Haha

    GrabHitch/RYDE-car pooling services

Hitch are privately owned cars, not private hired vehicles. For an OPC to convert to PHV, they will need to convert to a normal plate as commercial or PHV insurance only covers those. Commercial insurance is not cheap.

    GrabHitch/RYDE-car pooling services

Definitely allowed. I took hitch on my OPC and only in Jan 2019 converted to normal plate

2018 Kia Cerato K3 / Forte (BD Series)

I was watching the introductory video on YouTube for the Forte GT. 201 HP 1.6T sounds superb. Too bad they won't bring this car into Singapore.

Why did you chose you current HDB flat ?

When my family decided to move to our current location, our most important factor are. 1. Location 2. Age of Flat 3. Price Location is still the most important factor as after a long day at work, I do not want to take the MRT then change to a bus just to get home. Although my current place is still far from the city centre, but at least I'm staying a 3 mins walk from the MRT station.

    Audi A3 Sedan/Sportsback Owners - Check In

Haha, I'm not sure if it's for the middle management as I've seen junior executives (between 2 to 5 years working exp) driving A3. I'm still driving my 9 years 3 months old KIA I bought brand new. It's ok to walk into Audi, the staffs are really friendly.
