  1. The current 10th generation Civic was officially unveiled on 17 September 2015, and after close to 5 years, the next gen is on the horizon. The spy shots below shown the 5 door Type R variant, which look more upright than the current gen even though it was wearing heavy cladding. More spy shots of the other variants can be expected to surface very soon. Stay tuned.
  2. Mugen is preparing body kits, new exhausts, and other parts for the latest Honda Civic Type R. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/703238/honda-civic-type-r-by-mugen-for-2024-tokyo-auto-salon/ Mugen has over 50 years of experience in tuning and motorsport. The company has turned its attention to the Civic Type R by bringing a pair of modified examples to the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon that runs from January 12 through 14. They feature updated body kits and some mild performance tuning. Mugen calls the two flavors of modified Civic Type R the Group A and Group B. For now, there's only a single image of each car, but a video offers some additional details about each trim. Honda Civic Type R Group A by Mugen Honda Civic Type R Group B by Mugen The Group A kit is the milder one of the pair. Mugen adds a more aggressive front splitter and gives the front corner inlets a sharper shape. There are revised side sills and a reshaped wing out back. While not visible in this photo, the back bumper also has some styling changes. In all, it looks like something Honda could come up with for a special edition Type R from the factory. The Group B kit goes much further. It has the same front splitter and side inlets as the Group A, but there's also a carbon-fiber hood with lots of vents and slits. The top of the front fenders have additional openings to vent air from the wheel wells, while broad side sills give the flanks a more muscular appearance. Out back you'll find a tall wing and a modified bumper. The flamboyantly designed pieces give the Civic Type R a more stereotypical "tuner car" look that evokes the modded Civics from the early 2000s. These kits are not purely about aesthetics. Mugen used computational fluid dynamics to tune the pieces to help the Civic Type R's aerodynamic performance. The upgrades aren't limited to looks, either. Mugen is also developing new performance parts for the Type R. New dampers and BBS-sourced forged 19-inch wheels are part of the package. The Group A gets a stainless steel exhaust and new brake pads. The Group B has titanium pipes in addition to new brake calipers and rotors. Inside, the tuned Civic Type Rs feature a new steering wheel with Mugen branding on the bottom, bucket seats, a new shift knob, and carbon-fiber trim on the center console. Mugen will announce pricing for these parts at the Tokyo Auto Salon. We should also get a better look at the cars to see how much the body kits alter the Type R's appearance.

  4. Going to get a Honda Civic 2007, any known problems i should look out for and change? How much will the estimated costs be? Thank you!
  5. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/599481/2023-honda-civic-type-r-debut/ It's been over a year since we first saw camouflaged prototypes of the 2023 Honda Civic Type R. An official teaser campaign from Honda began six months ago, featuring everything from auto show appearances to setting lap records, all with cars still wearing a camo wrap. Now, the wait is finally over and all is revealed. Well, except for a few minor details like power, performance, and price. Admittedly, those aren't minor details but Honda promises more information is coming soon. What we can share right now is that the newest Civic is the most powerful Type R ever. In fact, Honda says it's the fastest, most powerful Honda-branded vehicle ever offered for US buyers. The familiar turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder from the outgoing Type R still holds station under the hood, sending its power to the front wheels through a revised six-speed manual transmission. There is no sequential gearbox, no all-wheel drive, and no wild hybrid tech. In terms of powertrain, it's a proper old-school hot hatchback. As with the engine, Honda isn't ready to share details on the Civic Type R's underpinnings save for it being "enhanced." We do know the car is lower, longer, and wider than the previous model. It also wears a wider set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, all of which surely contributes to the new Type R setting a front-wheel-drive lap record at Suzuka. Visually speaking, we finally get a good look at the Type R's big rear wing in context with the car. It's not the only upgrade – the front clip is a bit more aggressive with a mesh grille and revised corner intakes. Subtle side sills are found on the fenders behind the front wheels that work with the intakes, enhancing airflow efficiency around the car. Type R wheels and tires neatly fill bulged fender flares, and to maintain the sporty look, the hot hatch has wider rear doors versus the standard Civic. A rounded rear fascia with a diffuser and the triple-exit exhaust completes the exterior makeover. Inside, of course there's red mixed with black. You'll find red on the aggressive sport seats, carpeting, badging, and contrast stitching. Black covers the rest, including the Civic's handsome dash which carries over from the standard model. A special +R driving mode adds some visual excitement to the driver display, and an onboard data logger offers real-time information on the car and how it's responding to the driver.
  6. Dear Bros/Sis, planning to go Malaysia, JB to do an internal rewrap or fabric work on my honda civic F4. Any bros know of any shops that does this? Or would Singapore have any affordable shops to do such a service?
  7. TL;DR – A driver of a cam car (make and model unknown) took their grievances online to shame two Honda Civic Type-R drivers for dangerous driving. Unfortunately, things did not work out as planned. Netizens ended up flaming the driver of the cam car instead. A cam car driver was overtaken by not one but TWO Honda Civic Type-Rs along the CTE and decided to call out the two Type-R drivers for reckless and dangerous driving. In an unexpected twist, netizens started flaming the cam car driver instead. I don’t know how you feel about it, but it’s a great form of amusement to wash away those Monday blues, that’s for sure. Watch the 2min+ video here: An interesting takeaway At the 0.06 mark of the video, you can see the Gold Type-R entering the frame with its right signal on, attempting to cut into the cam car’s lane. But what’s interesting is that you can see cam car speed up to block the Type-R from doing so. Yet, cam car driver calls out the Type-R driver for dangerous driving? Hmmm. The second Type-R Agreeably, the second Type-R (silver) did drive rather dangerously. It squeezed into a tight pocket of space in front of the cam car and weaved through other cars to exit the CTE. It probably deserved the high beam from the cam car in that instance. But, as always, let’s hear what other people have to say. 8. A Hyundai Kona vehicle was caught on tape swerving irresponsibly through traffic, hitting a Toyota Prius, a rubbish bin and a Honda Civic after seemingly getting fed up of waiting for the white Toyota Prius to parallel park. A copious amount of white smoke was seen appearing at the end of the video. There have been many speculations on the cause of the smoke. Watch the video for yourself below: 292023483_1112651806315178_4155691904836114357_n.mp4 According to the caption provided in the user-submitted video, it claims a fire could have been started by the Hyundai Kona, resulting in the white smoke produced. However, a netizen pointed out otherwise. One netizen claimed that it might have been the coolant that caused all the white smoke seen in the video. Both options seem plausible. The aftermath of the debris of the Honda Civic seems absolutely heartbreaking as shown below. Looking at the state of his car, even the most mild-mannered individual might lose his/her temper. Netizen Comments Netizens have expressed their take on the situation through facebook comments, mostly criticizing the Hyundai Kona driver as well as the other car involved for his slow parking skills. Looking at the state of the Honda Civic, even my heart breaks a little for the driver. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 9. Want to see the shocking moment when a Honda Civic driver abruptly swerves between lanes on the causeway resulting in an accident? Watch the video below! This driver has managed to do it all. After realizing he was going into the wrong lane, this 'gundu' swerved abruptly into a bus after forgetting to check his blind spot. One really wonders how he managed to get his license. The bus was pushed off course in which the Civic driver then managed to hit both the road divider AND almost crash into a motorcyclist after abruptly swerving back into his original lane again. It almost takes a certain type of talent to mess up this badly After being hit by the debris of his mistake, the motorcyclist seems to start scolding the driver of the Honda Civic, as he probably should. Netizens chime in with their own take of the incident, criticizing and mocking the driver as well as expressing concern for the motorcyclist’s safety. What is your take on this incident? Have you ever personally encountered a reckless driver on the road? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 10. NGL, road altercations in Singapore is a common affair. However, the extent of these altercations varies from minor ones that diffuse within seconds to major ones that go back and forth, intending to provoke each other. Watch this Honda Civic's persistent provocation towards a motorcyclist: What Happened? A Honda Civic was caught in the act of intentionally provoking a motorcyclist on the PIE. The Honda Civic was seen tailgating closely behind the motorcyclist before abruptly cutting in front of him. The Civic slows down to be alongside the motorcyclist. However, the motorcyclist passes him while making a hand gesture towards the Civic driver. The Last Straw It was at this point that the Honda driver lost it. Once again, he changes lane to tailgate the motorcyclist while flashing his high beam at him. The Honda Civic driver then attempted to 'sandwich' the motorcyclist between itself and a van. In response to the Civic's action, the motorcyclist makes another hand gesture before zooming off. Sadly, the actual audio could not be heard due to the background audio in the user-submitted video. But I am speculating that there was lots of honking involved. What Did The Motorcyclist Do? TBH, I highly doubt the motorcyclist is an innocent party in this altercation. Yes, judging from the video, he may seem innocent. However, there seems to be an encounter between these two that wasn't caught in the dashcam footage. Regardless, the Honda Civic driver was acting like a total d!ck throughout the entire video. (BTW, the lyrics of the background music is a very apt message to the Honda Civic driver) Netizens' Comments With his car plate made known, I hope TP does something about this Civic driver. "Attempted murder" seems a bit far-fetched tho... The above is such an unpopular opinion that bears so much truth. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! 11. Have you heard of the domino effect? According to Google, it is referred to as "the cumulative effect produced when one event sets off a chain of similar events". Watch the domino effect in action here: What Happened? A Honda Shuttle and a tipper truck slammed into each other as they decided to switch lanes simultaneously. The collision caused major damage to the Honda Shuttle, leaving it with a pretty wrecked rear with a shattered window. Debris also flew into the adjacent lanes, which caused a grey Honda Civic to jam brake on lane 2 of the expressway to avoid some pieces of small debris. As a result of the Honda Civic's emergency brake, a Kia Cerato Forte Koup behind it could not brake in time and rear-ended the Honda Civic. The rear-ending seemed pretty intense as the Honda Civic rolled several metres forward, despite its brakes being applied. Needless to say, the accident left the front bumper of the Kia a complete wreck too. Netizens' Comments The biker is very lucky. And kudos to him for remaining so calm! IMO, the Honda Civic driver most likely panicked and performed an e-brake. I am confused.... ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  12. The number 1 rule before reversing your car is to always check clear your rear and blindspots before proceeding. Lazy to do so? Then get yourself a rear reverse camera, or you will be like this guy: IMG_7646.MP4 What Happened? I am sure we have all been stuck at the gantry for some reasons (Eg. Insufficient funds in cashcard, problem detecting your car's IU). And that was what happened to this particular Honda Civic driver - he got stuck at the carpark gantry. After what seemed like an eternity and having no luck in exiting from the gantry, the Honda driver decided to reverse out of the carpark gantry. However, this was where this 'Bodoh Kambing' screws up by not checking his rear and began reversing. The motorcyclist attempted to 'siam' the Honda by back-paddling but to no avail. Eventually, the Honda Civic hits the motorcycle. NGL, this is easily one of the most ridiculous accidents that could occur. Netizens' Comments Unpopular Opinion: Anyone can obtain their driver's license, but not everyone (with a driver's license) should be driving on the road. 👏 Whether the motorcyclist is in the yellow box or not, the Honda driver should have simply turned his head to check clear - nuff said. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 13. Hi MCFers, I am driving a Civic and was wondering where you guys do your servicing. I have been to Kah motors religiously but think I can probably save quite a fair bit outside, does anyone have any recommendations? BTW my servicing is 40K, car is about 1 yr 2mths. Thanks in advance!!
  14. This has to be one of the most unique, one-of-a-kind accident you would have ever seen before. The aftermath of the accident might even be meme-worthy. Watch it here: What Happened? The accident occurred at around 7am, at Hougang Avenue 1. As the morning traffic started forming at a red light, a BMW 520i driver decided to perform an abrupt lane change from lane 1 (go straight/turn right lane) to lane 2 (go straight-only lane). Despite an oncoming Toyota Corolla approaching, the BMW driver insisted on squeezing through and changing lanes. Unfortunately, the Toyota Corolla driver was either not paying attention, not practising defensive driving, or simply not fully awake. And needless to say, the BMW and Toyota collided with each other. The BMW driver decided to react by swerving to the right for some reason. And as a result, the BMW grazed the side of a Honda Civic that was in front of it. The back-to-back accidents left all 3 cars perfectly aligned in a straight line, entirely blocking off other motorists from passing through. The jam must have been so bad at this junction, considering the morning jam + the jam caused by this accident. And also, can I just point out how bad I feel for the Honda Civic driver, who was patiently waiting at the traffic light but got implicated in this accident? Netizens' Comments I would love to watch him crawl out from the boot! I can totally imagine this😆 Helicopter helicopter~ ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 15. With the Chinese New Year festivities happening last week, most Singaporeans are sure to be extra cautious during this busy period. Whether it's chauffeuring their loved ones around or going about on their day-to-day tasks, the last thing a driver wants is to be involved in an accident during CNY. Luckily for this Honda Civic Type R driver, the unthinkable almost happened if not for his powerful brakes and short reaction time! The video starts with the cam car slowing down and stopping at a busy junction, just as the traffic lights turn red. On his right, a blue Honda Civic Type R from the opposite direction makes its right turn across the junction. As the vehicle enters the yellow box, a motorcyclist suddenly speeds across the junction as he beats the red light. Luckily, the Type R driver reacts quickly in time, slamming on his brakes and coming to a complete stop. The rider was shocked by the car's presence and swerved slightly to avoid being hit in a head-on collision. If it wasn't for the driver's quick thinking (and his brakes), this rider would not have been able to ride away with his leg sticking out like that. Big brake kit – is it purely for aesthetics? As one of the most popular car modifications, a big brake kit is advertised to drivers as necessary for greater stopping power and better overall handling of their vehicles. Consisting of larger-than-stock brake rotors, upgraded brake pads and rotors, stainless-steel brake lines, and fittings, the kit allows drivers to upgrade their car’s stock brake system for one single price. Even in wet conditions, drivers can enjoy better stopping power and shorter distances. It is also aesthetically more pleasing to look at and is safer to use on track. However, the downside is that installing one can be pretty expensive. Drivers have to upgrade their tyres to a larger size to fit the enormous discs of the kit, which can cost a few thousand dollars. Buuuuut, you can’t put a price on safety right? 16. Because there’s nothing more Christmas-sy than getting a surprise visit from the TP. In a video posted on Christmas Day, a reckless Honda Civic driver decided to make his own Fast and Furious sequel on the TPE. With the cam car travelling in the middle lane, the driver caught the white Honda Civic dashing through the (snow) roads on the first lane. The white car swiftly overtook its left silver taxi, squeezing itself just in front of the cam car. The driver then recklessly cut in front of the taxi and sped up, with its left indicator shining strongly in the night. The Honda’s crazy antics led to a few drivers slowing down on the middle lane. Surprisingly, the taxi didn’t waver once throughout the whole ordeal. Speeding and overtaking on the left? All jokes aside, the way this Honda Civic driver drove on the expressway is perilous and reckless. In Singapore, the speed limit for expressways and tunnels ranges from 80 to 90 km/h. Judging from the video, it looks like the Civic was doing more than the limit. Drivers who exceed the speed limit by 40km/h or less will be issued a fine ranging from $130 to $170 and up to 8 demerit points. On the other hand, drivers who exceed the speed limit by more than 40 km/h will have to be prosecuted in court. They will also be issued up to 24 demerit points. While overtaking on the left is not illegal, it is not recommended unless a road hog blocks the rightmost lane. Even so, overtaking on the left requires the middle and left lanes to be mostly unoccupied. Switching lanes and slotting yourself in spaces between two lanes is unsafe and could result in an accident if other drivers are not alert enough. 17. hi everyone, posting here since i can't start a new thread yet. im a first time buyer looking to get a COE honda fit/civic or any other COE car which gets me from A to B. my question is, should i get a COE car which has been renewed for 5 years or 10 years? my friend has told me that if i get a 5 year one, at the end of the 5 years i will have to scrap the car which leaves me no value, so basically i'll waste the $$. however if i get a 10 year one, at the end of the 10 years i still can have the option of renewing the COE or selling it altogether. any advice? thanks!
  18. It was back in August when Acura confirmed the surprising return of the "Integra" moniker, but parent company Honda is actually the first to revive the fabled moniker for a production car. Meet the confusingly named 2022 Honda Integra, a Chinese compact sedan molded after the eleventh-generation Civic. Coming from the Guangqi Honda joint venture in the People's Republic, the Integra will be assembled in Guangzhou whereas the Civic upon which is based comes from the factory in Wuhan (yes, that Wuhan) belonging to the Dongfeng Honda joint venture. The two flavors are largely identical, but the new Acura version does look sleeker courtesy of its slimmer matrix LED headlights flanking a slightly larger grille with a honeycomb pattern. The changes continue at the back where the LED taillights adopt a sharper look and occupy less space on the tailgate. Dual exhaust tips and a subtle trunk lid spoiler contribute to the Honda Integra's youthful appearance, as does the faux diffuser bisected by the built-in fog light. Fresh colors like Emerald Blue and Fiery Yellow separate it from the regular Civic, and there are new wheel designs up to 18 inches in size. There are no interior images at the moment of writing, but we're expecting the cabin to be essentially carried over from the Civic. The engines are also a mystery for now, although the "240 Turbo" badge on the trunk lid indicates the car has 240 Nm (177 lb-ft), which is exactly what the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine develops in the Civic where it sends 180 hp to the front wheels via a CVT. The CN-spec Integra gets a six-speed manual, much like the Civic Hatchback.
  19. bros, i'm driving a FD4, when ever the revs are between 1.6 to 2K i will have a metal grinding sound coming from the car. anything above or below that, no problem. sound is audible in the cabin. so i guess it is quite loud. any one encounter this?
  20. The next-gen hot hatch will still stand out in a crowd. The last couple of days have been busy in the Civic Type R world. Honda shared some "spy" photos, and then we caught video of the car in action sporting a single janky exhaust pipe. Not to fear, hot Honda fans – that pipe was just for testing purposes. A new round of decidedly unofficial Type R spy shots feature another red-wrapped prototype with all its production components, including the triple exhaust finishers out the back. Whereas Honda offered up just a pair of photos, our spy photographer grabbed 14 as the prototype went by. We already know the next Type R won't be as flamboyant as the outgoing model, but these shots offer a bit more context as to just what that entails. The front fascia features a large lower intake flanked by a pair of side intakes that look clean and aggressive without being shouty. The theme continues along the sides where we see rocker trim with a winglet in front of the rear wheel, similar to the current model. The biggest difference comes at the rear. Yes, that spoiler is large and in-charge, but barring clever panels hiding vents under the camo wrap (which actually is a menagerie of Rs when you look close), we'll have a modest pair of side vents flanking the center-exit exhaust. It's a far cry from the current Type R with its large corner vents and a plethora of contrasting angles. As for what's under the skin, expect to see a tweaked version of the current 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, turning just the front wheels with a six-speed manual. A slight bump in power is virtually guaranteed, but with front-wheel drive enduring as the order of the day, don't expect much more than the current Type R's 306 hp (228 kilowatts). The wrap should come off sometime next year as a 2023 model. More photos for your imagination.
  21. A discretionary right turn goes wrong and ends up in a collision at Yishun Avenue 2. The incident occurred yesterday (June 22) when a white Honda Civic attempted to perform a discretionary right turn at a junction and collided with a black Hyundai Tucson. The video also showed another van swerving around the Honda Civic after the crash to avoid hitting it again. A pedestrian was also seen lying on the ground at the end of the video. However, it was not specified if the black Hyundai Tucson had hit the pedestrian. A discretionary right turn refers to a junction allowing for motorists to make a right turn as long as there is a suitable gap in oncoming traffic. The driver is allowed to decide when to turn right when he or she feels that it is safe to do so without the need for a green arrow. This is not the first time that a vehicle performing a discretionary right turn ends up in a serious traffic accident. In 2018, two high-profile traffic incidents involving vehicles attempting to perform discretionary right turns resulted in the deaths of two people. According to Channel News Asia, the Land Transport Authority announced plans to phase out discretionary right turns in Singapore following the two fatal accidents. By 2023, more than 1,200 junctions will have red-amber-green turning arrows. While the importance of discretionary right turns has been a popular debate topic, it goes without saying that drivers should take extra precaution when performing such manoeuvers. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 22. Hi there, my Honda Civic is going to reach 10 years next June. I am thinking of extending the COE, but some say might as well get a new car because of my car's high mileage (already 180,000km). Any advice on which would be better? I am thinking of extending the COE because my usage has dropped quite a lot in the last 2 years (don't need to send wife to work or kids to school anymore), and I send the car to Koh Motors for servicing regularly, so I thought the car can tahan another 5 years. Thanks!
  23. I purchased a Honda Civic sedan 2018. Any recommendation for accessories to make it look cooler (LED headlight bulbs, cup holder, body kits, etc.), and also websites or places to buy them are welcome.
  24. Recently, a video of a Honda Civic dangerously changing lanes along the SLE on 21st May was posted online. The driver was seen sifting through the lanes on the expressway without a care in the world. On top of that, it was also reported that he was speeding. Netizens' reactions As usual, netizens were not too happy about seeing the driver's lane changing technique. What do you think about this reckless behaviour?
