  1. You’d think after we’ve written so many posts about drivers running red lights and failing there’d be fewer cases. This is why you guys should share our articles so that your friends will be made aware of the consequences of driving recklessly (i.e, being our next post)! What happened? A Volkswagen Jetta tried to run a red light after failing to give way to a red MPV that I believe is a Honda Stream. Don’t quote me on that second one though. The footage shows the Jetta speeding up at the intersection right as the MPV was turning, like he was going to make that gap at all. Bro definitely has Ayrton Senna as his favourite driver. On the other hand, the Jetta also has a turbocharger; so maybe just unfortunate timing? There is no information as to the conditions of both drivers. Online chatter Cue generic comments blaming the VW. Running a red light and immediately getting hit is pretty funny karma. Interestingly enough, the watermark in this video was significantly larger and partially obscured the important bits of the video. This didn’t escape netizens’ attention, leading to ridicule. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. While we don’t know what type of influence the driver was under in this accident, it definitely was not a good one. At around 8pm on Saturday (Jan 15), a driver spotted a Volkswagen Jetta driving diagonally in its lane on the AYE. Situated on the right lane, the silver car struggles to maintain its position in the middle of the lane. The vehicle veers slightly to the right now and then, with the driver attempting to correct its direction. Seconds later, disaster strikes as the Jetta veers too far to the right, hitting the road divider of the expressway. The impact of the hit sends the car flying forward, pushing it in the opposite direction. The car flies across 3 lanes and makes its second hit with a large white truck. Both vehicles come to an immediate stop in the middle of the expressway as the cam car drives away. What happened? While there has not been a statement on what happened with the Jetta driver, netizens were quick to offer up their theories. #1: Driver was sleepy The most popular theory was that the driver was too sleepy. Netizens had noted that right before the incident, the car was already constantly veering towards the right of the lane. This could signify that the driver could have been falling asleep at the wheel. Some even shared their personal experiences and anecdotes about driving while being exhausted (which is not something you should do!). #2: Driver was drunk The second theory was that the driver could have been drinking before this incident. Again, netizens related the shaky driving before the incident to the influence of alcohol. They reasoned that there was no way a driver would drive in the first lane if he knew that he was tired beforehand. On the other hand, if one had been drinking, the driver could still take the first lane if he felt fine (despite his judgment being impaired). #3: Driver was distracted The last theory was that the driver could have been distracted by his phone. In this scenario, it would make sense that the Jetta was driving in the first lane as the driver was physically okay. He could have been answering a call or texting – something that some of us are guilty of doing when we are on the expressway. While we don’t know for sure which of these theories are true, the fact is that a driver should not be on the road if he is exhausted or has been drinking. 3. My VW Jetta 2014 model recently have "brake servo failure" with 3 error signs shown (photo). Now this sign came out every time after engine starts. In march 2021 VW Singapore quoted me replacement of ABS/EDL Control Unit for $3,974, of course I refused to do so. Anyone can offer your solution?

    VW Jetta

Hi all, Some pictures to share with you while I am overseas : the notchback version of the Golf V - the Jetta. The rear lamp clusters are very similar to the latest Passat (the silver car next to the black Jetta). Read from a couple of motoring literature in Europe that the Golf VI will be introduced earlier than expected, in 2008 or so. This will probably be the shortest production run for the Jetta. http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_ne...006/112_news11/ A preview of the Golf VI (albeit small) http://www.autozeitung.de/pages/auto-news/...02-vw_golf6.jpg
  5. In Mid 2018, it was announced that the new-and-improved Volkswagen Jetta GLI would be arriving within the year, and now there is confirmation that VW is sticking to its word. The GLI, the performance-oriented variant of the Jetta, will debut in late winter 2019 at the Chicago Auto Show. Volkswagen had its attention throughout 2018 pointed on the launch of the 2019 Jetta, the start of the seventh generation of the compact family sedan. After debuting the Mark 7 Jetta at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the nameplate has popped up throughout the year for a variety of reasons. VW made a special Jetta for the the European Experience car show, it brought out numerous custom Jettas for SEMA (the H&R Special Springs R-Line is pictured), and it built a Bonneville Jetta intended for a speed record. It's no coincidence all of these builds try to brush off the economical character of the four-door and lean into its sporting side. The buildup culminates with the upcoming launch of the Jetta GLI, which a VW representative confirmed will debut at the Chicago Auto Show, Feb. 9-18. The unveiling will take place in the press days before the show goes live. From previous reporting, we believe the GLI will be properly hotted-up. Based on past conversations, VW has indicated the GLI will adopt a multi-link independent rear suspension, leaving the torsion-beam setup for the lower-trim Jettas. Under the hood will be a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder mill that we expect will be the same tuned engine found in the GTI, which has 220 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque with premium fuel. That should link to either a six-speed manual transmission or the seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic. If VW is truly bringing GTI characteristics to the Jetta, then the GLI should offer a much more fun experience than can be found in the current lineup.
  6. Hi Jetta Owners, I had year 2010 Jetta 1.4 TSI giving me problems and I do not have the owner manual for troubleshooting the fuse box engine & cabin. Please advise me if any free download. If you have the owner manual, kindly take picture of fuse box diagram (Engine side & Cabin) in the manual for me. :) Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advanced.
  7. With more and more brands abandoning the manual gearbox, the amount of drivers being able to drive cars equipped one also lessens day by day. With that in mind, Volkswagen USA thinks that its latest Jetta GLI, when optioned with a manual gearbox, would easily deter thieves. In its latest commercial for the sports sedan, it portrayed the aforementioned idea in just that way. However, while it was cheeky of them to come out with this advertisement, they did put a small line at the end of the video saying, “Legally we have to tell you that you should always lock your car, so you should lock your car." to make sure viewers should only take it as a joke. It is unknown whether the latest Jetta GLI will make it to our sunny shores.
  8. Following Skoda with it new Octavia, the new Jetta seems to be much larger than the existing model, and likely to hit close to 4.7m in length. Design wise, I am seeing hints of Audi (headlight), Honda (grille) Ford (C pillar) and Hyundai (taillight). Hopefully the car look better in metal, just like the current B8 Passat. Photos were rumored to be taken at VW Mexico manufacturing facilities. In case you still don't believe this is the new Jetta, but some other VW model for Brazil or China, here are some spy shots of the new Jetta taken earlier.
  9. Jesse's Volkswagen Jetta is up for sale again in America. If you love your Fast and Furious movies, you will recognise his car for sure! Basically a 1995 VW Jetta GL, it is still in the same condition it was when the movie was made. According to Carscoops, it is unclear whether the car has been modified mechanically but judging from the photos, you can see that it has been given new wheels, a lowered suspension set up, a full bodykit package, roll cage, racing seats and an Alpine audio system with an integrated PlayStation 2. After the filming was done, the car was bought over by Frankie Muniz, who also acted in the Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Reportedly, he barely drove the car and is now asking S$135k for the car. It might sound like a lot, but it does have the autographs of the late Paul Walker,Chad Lindberg (who played Jesse in the movie), and director Rob Cohen in it.
  10. Volkswagen will be sending a modified Jetta to set a new speed record in the BGC/G class at this year's Bonneville Speed Week. Obviously far from production specs, the car you see here has been highly uprated. Starting from the outside, the car has a lower ride height, a set of more aerodynamic wheels fitted with special Goodyear tires and two parachutes. Inside, it is fully stripped out and only has things necessary for it to be operated. Built by THR Manufacturing, Volkswagen says that the car will be using a modified version of the company’s turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder EA888 engine without giving away how many horses it produces. The company believes that it is enough to allow the car to go faster than 335km/h and wants to showcase the 'potential performance that the EA888 engine can achieve with modifications.'
  11. Hi Members This thread mainly for VW Jetta comments... Happy reviews and contributions
  12. Hey guys...here's the review...a good car for those who love the GTI, but must have 4 doors... do note the error in the title of the review. It should be "Volkswagen Jetta GLI" http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/review.php?AID=42
  13. Hi All, I admit that I am attracted by Jetta because it is a Europe car and the current offered price is very attractive too. it is spacious and the boot is huge. However, when I went through all the threads, it seems it got a terrible history. I have a few questions: 1) the 7 speed gear box- when I checked with the sales, he told me it is not an issue any more for those 2015 Jetta. How likely I can trust him? he told me the sales figure is good this year. 2) Currently WV only offers 3 years warranty for the gear box now. After the warranty, the sales told me it is about 2K+ to replace it. If I want to keep this car after 3 years, Do I have to budget this 2K+ every year based on the information given by some brothers in this forum. 3) Besides this gear box issue, Is there any other main issue for this model? The sales kept telling me that I don't need to worry about it any more since WV has fixed it for the year 2015 model. if it is still a concern to me, he suggested me that I can sell it just before end of the 3rd years. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Ken
  14. A couple of photos of the next generation Volkswagen Jetta have been leaked online, courtesy of the Spanish website, Autologia. Looking pretty similar to the recently launched Arteon sedan, the new mid-size sedan from VW is scheduled to be launched globally in December. Other than the photos shown here, no details about the car are known at this stage but it seems likely that the car will get similar powertrain options as the current mk7.5 Golf.
  15. Although Jetta GearBox's negative impression, but its sales figure don't lose "sell like hot cakes" Mazda 3 and Altis
  16. Hello there! Saw the Jetta Sportline 1.4 today at Motorshow 2016 and quite like it. Do any bros/sis have any experience with this model?
  17. One and only Jetta Mk VI 6 with the original Volkswagen Adaptive Forward Light retrofitted. In fact, the only Jetta here in Asia with the original Volkswagen Xenon AFS lights ! It cost a bomb though compared to the cheap Chinese rip off which looks almost identical but function wise, it cannot be compared. http://jimmy-cbx.blogspot.sg/2015/07/jetta-mark-6-original-xenon-drl-led.html
  18. Hi, I have a few occassions when the fan kept running after I had shut down the engine. The first time it happened, I just turned on the engine for 1 min to shift my car. When I shut it down, I can see the fan turning. I turn on and off the engine again and it was gone. The 2nd time happened when I was using the car battery (engine not on) to vacuum. After I shut everything down, the fan remained. After about 5 mins, it went off. The 3rd time happened when I shut down the engine and turned it on again after 2mins. I drove it for about 100m before shutting down. The fan remained and I had to restart the engine and shut down again. Anyone had similar experience? Is this normal? My MK6 Jetta is the non-sport version.
  19. One of the cars from the original Fast and Furious movie, the white Volkswagen Jetta, is now on sale. Owned by Frankie Muniz, the Jetta has been making several appearances over the years for the movie's promotion purposes. Sporting a updated front bumper, side skirts, a large wing, side decals, and big wheels, the car has been signed by the late Paul Walker. Chad Lindberg, who drove the Jetta and played Jesse in the film has signed on the car too. Inside, the car features a custom stereo with a Playstation 2 console and runs using a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The car is connected to an conventional automatic transmission. Weirdly, the no information on the selling price has been released.
  20. One and only Jetta Mark 6 to be equipped with the original Volkswagen Chassis Control system. PS : This is the only Jetta with a C/S buttons that really works ! The write up is here The system consist of 4 electronic control shock absorbers, 3 level sensors, 3 chassis acceleration sensors, controller, harness, new bump stops, harness etc. Anthony is the first to own this very rare and unique Jetta Mark 6 2015 model. The handling and control of this Jetta is like no other ! Here is a video from Seat to explain the basis of the DCC ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHJ3jJ8-bvk

    VW teases Jetta R

During the European press launch of the new 2011 Jetta, the media got a taste of the Jetta R with a special prototype fitted with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, six-speed DSG transmission and Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel drive system. As you can see in the pictures, the V6 prototype's body has not been altered yet. Only the bigger wheels and four-tail pipes at the back signal that this is not your normal Jetta. Should it make it to production, you can rest assured that the R division will dress-up the Jetta with a body kit, racing seats, sportier steering wheels and pedals. The Jetta R should fit snugly in the R line-up, alongside with the Golf and Scirocco R models and the also rumored Polo R. Its future depends on customer feedback: "If there are customers asking for it, we will do it. It wouldn't be a problem for us. The Jetta's platform can take four-wheel drive" VW R&D chief, Ulrich Hackenberg, told Autocar magazine. The European Jetta has received many upgrades over its American counterpart. These include the use of higher quality and softer materials on the control panel with a more sophisticated four-link suspension system at the back instead of the U.S.-spec model's simple, beam axle setup. The base Jetta in Germany, which is powered by a 105HP 1.2-liter TSI petrol, starts at
