New outback is announced. Similar to the forester, brand new SGP platform, but looks similar to the outgoing model. Surprisingly, Subaru decide on the XT model for the outback. https://www.motor1.com/news/345124/2020-subaru-outback-debut/

Porsche's 918 Spyder hits top speed in the Australian Outback
chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
If Germany's infamous autobahn is too far and inconvenient to try your car's top speed, there is actually another place you can go... Porsche has just released a video which showed racing driver Craig Baird behind the wheel of its 918 hybrid hypercar. And with a racing driver at the wheel on one of Australia's Northern Territory unrestricted roads, you can bet the video is all about the 918 spyder hitting its top speed. Watch the video and see how fast the 918 spyder went. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M68VE61mTyY -
The Subaru Legacy and the Legacy on stilts, the Outback has been revised for the 2013 model year. Subaru has slightly 'improved' the looks of the quirky looking large sedan and wagon by changing the front end of the cars. Both cars feature new headlights, grille and bumper. The new look seems to suit the Legacy better with its Audi-esque bumper (but still slightly awkward) but the Subaru Outback still looks dumpy and awkward to me. Other styling changes are limited to the interior

Hi, I love big rims and tyres both for the look and performance. Outback 3.0L 2005. Now thinking of upgrading the stock 17" 215/55 to 19" 245/40. With the bigger rims I will be able to put in the much bigger Brembo brake sets. The questions are: 1. Where can I find those rims? 2. Will there be problem doing so? 3. Is changing brakes that simple? Thanks.

Hi all, Thought I'll share this short review with all for a couple of days of driving a rental Mazda 6 2.3L vs prev-model Subaru Legacy Wagon (OUTBACK) 2.5L (Note: Not in Singapore). Mazda6 As a passenger: - The car is pretty quiet and spacious. - Engine noise is pretty low. - However, being a passenger, I start to notice the plastic used on the dash was of pretty low quality - The centre console (gear box area) was heavily scratched during to placing items there (poor quality). As a driver: - Though 2.3L, the low end pickup wasn't actually very good. Power comes in at 2500rpm and the surge then was pretty good. (Low end worst than my 2.0L, should start appreciating it) - Can't imagine the 2.0L will be worst. - Road noise and engine noise was very obvious. - Like the dash and design but not the quality - Compliment must be given to the brake. Very solid feel ! - Car feel light - Still didn't experience the exceptionally good handling due to poor weather. Subaru Legacy 2.5L Outback/Wagon AWD As a driver: - With 2.5L AWD, the car is even more powerless than the 2.3L Mazda 6 ! Power on come in after 3000rpm. Gotta really rev hard - Feel sturdy ... guess the weight and AWD. - Feature packed, low end model, but include nice fog lights, heated seats and lots of many other features. - Noisy .. but well .. didn't expect it to be quiet anyway (as compared to the Mazda6) Not as a passenger yet. Given a choice, I would keep the Mazda 6 as rental car for it's sleek look. But the Subaru Legacy Outback gave a very safe feeling instead. Snowing/Hailing ... so better stick to the Legacy Outback P.S: Sorry, it might not been a fair comparison, but just thought of sharing these after experiencing them :-)

From a distance, I thought I saw a Subaru Outback with Civil Defence painted on it. Quite happening, ya!
