  1. Hi, Was wondering if anyone here is driving 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander (or used to own one) ? Thinking of converting to SUV from my Mark X... Was looking at Outlander as I like the design and functions. Any things I should take note of ?
  2. TL;DR - A Mitsubishi Outlander driver turned right on a left-only lane and got honked at by a cam car. The driver then decided to get out of his car and let his middle fingers loose. Is being or at least acting fierce, the way out of any argument? Seems like this Mitsubishi Outlander driver is a firm believer of such a mindset. Watch this 99-second video and we’ll see if you share the same sentiments as most people after. What happened? In the video, we see a very self-entitled driver pointing his exceptionally long middle finger at the cam car. Reason? Because he’s in the wrong. Whut? Perhaps the driver believes whoever gets mad first automatically puts the other party at fault? He carried on raging at the poor cam car driver when he was the one at fault. Consider my mind officially blown. Before leaving the scene, he kept flipping the bird at the cam car like he was doing some ritualistic, voodoo dance. Pretty hilarious if you ask me. Gentle Reminder to all road users: Driving without due care or reasonable consideration for other road users carries a whopping 9 demerit points and a grand fine of $300. Let’s dive into the online chat box. Seems intense over there. No holds barred against the Mitsubishi driver. He has officially gotten his role as an Internet clown. Let’s just say there’s loads more of such hate comments directed at him, but for now, we’ll leave it here. Therefore, folks, be vigilant when you drive - don’t get yourself on SG Road Vigilante! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. Rumours: New Mitsubishi Outlander might get Nissan power source: https://uk.motor1.com/news/420365/next-mitsubishi-outlander-nissan-engine/ In return, Mitsubishi will reportedly share its plug-in hybrid powertrain with Nissan. The current Mitsubishi Outlander is nearing the end of its lifetime. The current model has been on sale since its 2014 model year, and it's about time for Mitsubishi to give its compact crossover a full revamp. It won't be long, however, until we see the next-generation Outlander. It has been spied testing since September of last year, and it has been confirmed that a new one will debut this year. However, information about the next Outlander is still scarce at this point, as well as its expected styling, although these exclusive renderings should give you an idea of how it will look like. What we know is that the Mitsubishi Outlander will be sharing its underpinnings with the next-generation Nissan Qashqai, which is scheduled to debut this year, as well. Both crossovers will ride on a platform developed by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. Automotive News, however, reported that the Outlander will be using a Nissan engine under its bonnet, marking the first time that a Mitsubishi vehicle will be using a Nissan mill. The information was from Japan's Nikkei business daily. This signals a deeper alliance between the two Japanese marques, furthering the current strategy of cutting costs by sharing product development.
  5. You might have come across a question like this during your BTT (Basic Theory Test). For the benefit of those who don't know, the answer should be "C". This is a one-way traffic sign. Apparently the driver of this red Outlander does not understand the sign. It's pretty clear that he made a mistake and turned into Tyrwhitt Road (a one-way street) along Lavendar street. While most people would stop, make a three-point turn and move on, this driver continues to drive against traffic along Tyrwhitt Road. Maybe there's a shortcut to his favourite durian stall. Here's the video. Anyway, this is how a One-way Street sign looks like. It even has the words "ONE WAY" plastered on it. How could anyone miss this? And for the Mitsubishi Outlander driver, If someone were to report you, I think it is highly possible that you will be penalised by the Traffic Police. Driving or riding against the flow of traffic as indicated by traffic signs - Demerit 6 points + Fine - $200. This guy, I really wanna "watch-out" him. 😂
  6. for those looking out to buy a 7 seater mid range SUV as an alternative to a 7 seater MPV.....pls share your views and comments
  7. Helping my father make a decision on his next car. He’s currently driving a Fortuner in its last yr of COE, and would like a 7 seater SUV as replacement. Visited the show rooms last wkend to look see, so considering between these two models: Outlander $129k Sorento SX Diesel ~ $155k (SE quote) He’s the type to use the car up to the 9-10yr mark before changing. Sorento OMV is 33k, PARF is about 4.7k more than outlander. Travels >30k km a yr, so calculated the savings of diesel over the petrol over 10yrs, together with the PARF difference, it will eventually add up to balance the car price as well as road tax difference. So kinda leaning towards the Sorento. Hence would need some input regarding both models and which would you pick over. Are they any hidden cost or details that may help tip the outlander to be of better value or the deciding factor? maintenance, would turbo diesel engine require more maintenance in the long run vs 2.4 NA Engine? Servicing cost wise, are they about the same? What about parts replacement, Kor vs jap parts cheaper? Reliability? Would assume both are equally as good? Is it easy to find Diesel Euro V in Malaysia? (He travels to JB quite frequently, Penang Ipoh maybe once or twice a yr) Many thanks for any input or views.
  8. Why are people selling this car after driving less than 6 months? Is this car bad? http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=507338&DL=1000 http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=506312&DL=2037 http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=504212&DL=1000
  9. Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has announced that the completely redesigned 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander crossover will be the 'Official Safety Vehicle' for this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) to be held on June 30th. With advanced safety features including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), the seven seater 2014 Outlander will represent Mitsubishi in serving as the Official Safety Vehicle for this annual event. In addition to its safety technology, the Outlander is available with the company's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system that provides superior stability, traction and control - perfect for negotiating not only the numeral twists and turns of the Pikes Peak course but also the instantaneously changing harsh weather and road conditions along this high elevation route. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution will also join the Outlander as a supplemental safety vehicle. These vehicles were built specifically for the race with support coming from a number of firms including BBS USA, Cobb Tuning, Kenwood USA Corporation, and Muellerized Suspension Tuning. In Mitsubishi Motors' debut in last year's running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, its innovative i-MiEV Evolution all-electric prototype racing car scored an impressive second place finish in the Electric Vehicle Division in 2013. For the 91st hill climb, Mitsubishi Motors returns with an all new, more powerful electric powered prototype racing car dubbed the MiEV Evolution II in a two-car assault, in the very capable hands of two-time Dakar Rally winner Hiroshi Masuoka and six-time Pikes Peak overall motorcycle champion and 2002 SCORE International off-road series champion Greg Tracy. Held in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, the challenging Pikes Peak International Hill Climb features a unique road course that is 20km in length with 156 corners, commencing at an elevation of 9,390 feet and finishing at 14,110 feet. First run in 1916, this annual event is the second oldest motor race in America after the Indianapolis 500. Mitsubishi Motors will also serve as the Presenting Sponsor at the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

  14. Some Mitsu Outlander & Grandis recalled: for defective brake light system and when it fails the gear may get stuck in 'Park'. http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNew...ory_312307.html Watch for it: https://vitas.lta.gov.sg/EvPublicEnquirySer...ButtonName=view
  15. Alright, after the mazda showroom, mitsubishi is next.honestly, outlander was that striking enough to gain my interest. but todays exprience somewhat changed my mindset. price wise is about 92k for M spec and 99k for G spec, exclusive of promotions and stuff. '07 outlander comes with 2.4L sohc mivec engine, pumping out 170 horses and 21nm of torque. (if my memory serves me right) packaged with invecs II cvt, with 6sp manual mode. the party piece is the supposedly magnesium paddle shifter on the steering column. which means, the paddles are stationery. (you wont confuse yourself on which paddle to pull, especially when negotiating tight turns require more steeering lock) basically, 99.9% of the populartion wont be using it. being a cvt, acceleration is seemless regardless of how hard the acclerator is pushed. (unless in manual mode). 170 horses doesnt feel very strong, but is still adequet to hual the car along. another feature is the transmission selector. 2wd(fwd) / 4wd / lock (locks the diffs). 2wd or 4wd can be engaged on the move, at your command. this can be done via a circular dail, beisde the parking brake. VSC ABS EBD are standard, nt too sure about TC. but is there a way to temprarily disable the VSC for some fun? suspesion, pretty ok. body roll is ok for its height / weight, as long as you dont attack the corner too hard. bumps and stuff, i'll leave it for you guys to tell. the test route didnt really allow me to test the bump absorbtion. the outlander dashboard looks appealing, though the plastics used still suggests of a lower production cost. the meter console area has a multifuction lcd which is quite intereting. it even tells you which door is still open. G spec wll come with factory fitted leathers, and rockfort 9 speaker sound system with a big woofer in the boot. it too also comes with a sunroof. priced at almost 100k, you'll be expecting maybe a cruise control. but sadly, there isnt. (at least for the M spec) though fog lights and 18" rim are a standard. comments are welcomed
  16. Got my new car and looking at replacing the brake system with Brembo's. Any idea if there are suitable models specifically meant for the Outlander? If not, would it be possible to use the Evo's? 18" wheels.
