  1. I notice conti cars depreciates faster than Japanese cars. Thinking of selling my Nissan pulsar (left 3 years 4 months) for about $50k and get a used Mini (2+years) for slightly less about $40k. I heard minis models after 2014 requires much less maintenance and lesser breakdowns.. maintenance of my pulsar has been expensive last 2 years about $5k, having to change radiator, 2 oil housing, battery, alternator, etc. I may have to change brake disc and pads next due to the high pitch sounds it makes when braking. any thoughts?
  2. Heard that this model will be launching in 2016. Looks like Qashqai but smaller version, the exterior and interior looks pretty cool. Should be made in UK too like QQ. I estimate for price for this model should be in between note and QQ, and Abt the price of Jazz ba. Anyone interested in this model too? http://m.sgcarmart.com/articles/articleinfo.php?CT=n&AID=10400 Pic of Pulsar

  4. As above, from the brochures both seem to be using the same engine. If that is the case, does that mean the Pulsar will be better in acceleration and fuel efficiency ?
  5. Nissan has unveiled the new Pulsar Hatchback, bearing signature Nissan trademarks such as a V-motion grille and boomerang shaped lighting signature. The car was designed and engineered for Europe and will be built at Nissan's production facility in Barcelona, Spain. The new Pulsar offers a wide number of safety features usually reserved for premium or luxury models including the marque's advanced Safety Shield - essentially a suite of systems and technologies which offer a fully comprehensive 'safety net' for drivers. Among the systems offered are Forward Emergency Braking, Moving Object Detection, Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Warning. The Pulsar also features Nissan's second generation infotainment system which offers a range of novelty features including full smartphone integration, Google Send-to-Car and accessibility to a wide variety of apps. Through the Pulsar, Nissan offers a wide range of turbocharged engines starting with the 1.2-litre DIG-T powerplant, which provides 113bhp of power while a higher 187bhp rated 1.6-litre petrol engine will join the range early next year. A 1.5-litre dCi oil burner generating 108bhp and 260Nm of torque will also be available. The new Pulsar engines offer adequate performance levels and deliver emissions lower than 95g/km and are linked to an advanced XTronic automatic transmission. The long 2,700mm wheelbase and clever packaging has resulted with 692mm of rear knee room, which the marque believes is more room than what several compact executive cars offer. Also, the compact footprint of 4,385mm, makes it easier to park in tight urban environments like Singapore. The new Pulsar hatchback goes on sale in Europe from Autumn 2014.
  6. A friend of mine visited the Nissan showroom recently and was informed that a hatchback from Thailand would be launched in Singapore sometime in August this year. A visit to Nissan Thailand website revealed that this model could likely be the Nissan Pulsar. The Pulsar hatchback is known as the Tiida (Latio Sport) in other parts of the world. Hence, the Pulsar is the spiritual successor to the Latio Sport, which was a popular hatchback in Singapore. The Pulsar shares the same engine and transmission options as the Sylphy. This means a DOHC Twin C-VTC 1.6-litre that pushes out 116bhp and 154Nm of torque as well as a 1.8-litre version that churns out 129bhp and 174Nm of torque. Both engines are mated exclusively to an Xtronic CVT gearbox. The Nissan Pulsar measures 4,295mm by 1,760mm by 1,520mm (L x W x H) with a wheelbase of 2,700mm. This is similar to the Sylphy and is 100mm longer than the first generation Latio Sport. Should the Pulsar arrive at the Lion City, it will face stiff competition from the likes of the VW Golf, Opel Astra, and not forgetting the forth coming Mazda3 and Forte K3 hatch.
  7. Nissan Australia has confirmed the introduction of a hot new version of the Nissan Pulsar during an announcement made ahead of the local unveiling of the new hatchback at the 2012 Sydney motor show. The Pulsar is also known as the Tiida in other markets. Called the Nissan Pulsar SSS, the hot hatch will be powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged direct-injection engine (Codenamed MR16DDT) that produces 188bhp with a peak torque of 240Nm. This unit is also shared with the Nissan Juke. The engine will be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Although no official figure is provided, the SSS is believed to complete the century sprint in a little over 7 seconds given that the much larger Juke is able to do so in approximately 8 seconds. If this is not enough to make increase your pulse, an even more powerful Pulsar SSS NISMO could be on the card since the 1.6 turbo engine has already been tuned for the Juke. Australia will become the second market after China to get the Pulsar SSS with suspension tuned specifically for local conditions.
