  1. With the current Subaru Forester (launched in Q1 2013), 2 years old and the most popular Subaru car in 2014, I'm surprised that I can't even find a thread on it, so I'm starting one here. Are there any recent buyers who would like to share their views or recent purchasing experiences? http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/article.php?AID=12527 Motor Image Enterprises, the exclusive distributor of Subaru in the region, announced that Subaru vehicle sales in Singapore grew by 210 percent in 2014 (January 2014 - December 2014), jumping from 201 units in 2013, to 623 units in 2014. The award-winning Subaru Forester, which was launched in the first quarter of 2013, is the highest-selling Subaru vehicle in Singapore. Growth was also experienced across various markets with Taiwan and Malaysia experiencing a 44 percent and 24 percent increase in sales in 2014 (January 2014 - December 2014) respectively. At the same time, Consumer Reports, an independent organisation that publishes reviews and comparisons of consumer products, announced that Subaru won the Consumer Reports Top Picks of 2015 in three categories. In addition, Subaru was ranked 5th overall in the automotive brand ranking.   2. If you think you have seen this car before, you are not wrong. This electric SUV from Subaru is a badge-engineered Toyota bZ4X. In developing Solterra, the brand's first battery electric vehicle (BEV) to be launched globally, Subaru aimed to exceed the various customer expectations for BEVs and make it a practical vehicle so that customers can choose it comfortably and confidently, as the vehicle will be the cornerstone of Subaru's future BEVs. At the same time, as a Subaru SUV, Subaru aimed to make it a vehicle that existing Subaru customers can feel that it truly is a Subaru. By filling it with new values that a BEV can offer and the value of "enjoyment and peace of mind" that Subaru have cultivated over many years, Solterra has been built as an authentic SUV in an environmentally friendly package that can be used with peace of mind like the existing Subaru SUV models. Exterior and Interior The seamlessly shaped hexagon grille expresses the energy efficiency of a BEV. The body with the horizontal axis starting from that hexagon and the dynamic fenders bulging out from the inside show the strength as an SUV. High capacity battery packs are placed under the floor as it is a BEV, and by utilizing that battery as a part of the structure, a low center of gravity and high body strength and rigidity are realized. Driving Performance/AWD System Subaru Solterra has adopted a new system that drives the front and rear wheels with separate motors. Taking advantage of the expertise in AWD technology precisely controlling the four tires that Subaru has accumulated over many years, the agile response of the electric motors and the flexible driving force distribution between front and rear, Solterra fully utilizes the grips of the four wheels and offers a driving with confidence and peace of mind. Like the other Subaru SUV models, Solterra features the X-MODE AWD control system that enhances the sense of security on rough roads. By adding the new Grip Control function, which enables the vehicle to run at a constant speed while stabilizing the vehicle even on rough roads, the capability is further enhanced. Safety By devising the skeleton shape of each part of the body and optimizing the material strength, Solterra achieves both weight reduction and superior collision safety at the same time. In the event of a collision, the structure that transfers the load to multiple body skeletons efficiently absorbs the collision energy. It protects not only the vehicle occupants, but also protects the high-voltage equipment in the BEV. Which would you guys go for if any bros out here got the same requirements like uncle me below : Will buy only these 2 conti cars A3 or Octavia ( both lasting look ) - both almost got the same spec but both price gap quite a bit away Been driving Jap cars for past 2 decades M a Family man no need dashing power just smooth good pickup speed when needed when there’s 4 Adults in my car 🤗 Need space for the bicycles 😛 maybe dashing in driving in to JB for groceries 🤭 Been observing on 1 popular Korean model to 1 v.popular Jap hot model but both look can’t lasts long and will sick of it after a while especially t Korean one 😝 ( gonna drive next 10 yrs so must get something More lasting )

  7. Hi All. I am interested to find out the price of replacing the hybrid battery for our vehicle. How much does it varies from brand to brand? Anybody had theirs replace before?
  8. has anyone gone to any hybrid workshop that does battery maintenance besides HEVshop? What's the cost for cleaning hybrid fan or recharge the battery pack? My PI warranty almost ending and they have never checked the hybrid battery before that's why was hoping to get it checked outside. Thank you!

The Yaris and Yaris Cross are the first models to use Toyota's latest 1.5 hybrid system, developed directly from the larger 2.0 and 2.5-litre powertrains used by recent new models such as the Corolla, C-HR, RAV4 and Camry. This features a new 1.5-litre, three-cylinder Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, precision-engineered to reduce friction and mechanical losses and optimise combustion speed. The result is high torque at low engine speeds and excellent fuel efficiency. The engine's thermal efficiency is rated at 40%, which is greater than comparable diesel engines and ensures strong fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. Toyota GA-B platform Toyota Yaris Cross follows its sibling hatchback model in adopting Toyota's new GA-B vehicle platform. This ensures a high level of body rigidity and a well-balanced chassis, making the car responsive and agile. All urban. All SUV With the Yaris Cross, Toyota has produced an authentic SUV on a smaller scale, giving customers the higher driving position, practicality and interior spaciousness, they desire in a car with compact dimensions that make it well-suited to urban driving. The design evokes the classic qualities of SUVs, with a higher body and larger wheels/tyres communicating strength and purpose. Toyota Yaris Cross has the same 2,560 mm wheelbase as the new Yaris hatchback, but is 240 mm longer overall, with 60 mm added to the front overhang and 180 mm to the rear, securing more interior space. The ground clearance is 30 mm higher and the vehicle is taller and wider overall - by 90 and 20 mm respectively. Practical and Versatile Being a true SUV, special attention has been given to practicality and versatility. There's a power back door for when your hands are full. And an adjustable deck height to give the flexibility of either a secure underfloor compartment or increased trunk space for larger loads. In addition, the deck board itself can be split in two, giving customers both increased space and an underfloor storage area. The trunk is also equipped with a new flex belt system to secure items and stop them shifting during driving. Yaris Cross is just as spacious as it is practical. With all seats up and tonneau cover in place it delivers a large trunk volume. However, if more load capacity is needed, then there's a 40:20:40 foldable rear seat system to balance rear passenger space with cargo needs. Intelligent all-wheel drive One of the features that defines the new Toyota Yaris Cross as an authentic SUV is the availability of an intelligent all-wheel drive system - a unique feature in its class for a hybrid model. AWD-i provides extra stability and traction in everyday driving, in poor conditions and on low-grip surfaces. An electric system, it is more compact and weighs less than mechanical AWD units, helping the Yaris Cross Hybrid AWD-i achieve lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions than any of its all-wheel drive B-SUV competitors. The system directs drive torque to the rear axle when pulling away and when accelerating. In normal driving, the Toyota Yaris Cross operates with front-wheel drive, but when low-grip conditions are detected, all-wheel drive is engaged automatically. This can be, for example, on wet cobblestones, in heavy rain, on wet or packed snow, or on sand. Advanced Driver Assistance System The foundation of the new Yaris Cross's safety performance is its GA-B platform, giving the car an exceptionally rigid body. With the intention of meeting the highest and most rigorous independent test standards, it will further benefit from Toyota Safety Sense active safety systems and advanced driver assistance functions, helping to avoid a wide range of common accident risks through driver information, early warnings and, when necessary, automatic braking and steering intervention. Design The design process of Toyota Yaris Cross brought together a wide team from studios in both Europe and Japan. To describe their ideas and inspiration in more detail, please find below the words of one member of the team - Lance Scott, Design General Manager at Toyota's EDD studio in Nice, France. "When we started this process, we understood that whilst style is the number one purchase reason in the B-SUV segment, customers were also keen to have a high level of practicality. Not easy things to reconcile, especially in a compact package. From the very beginnings of the design concept, we had the European customer in mind, but needed to understand more about them. So we went out and interviewed real customers to understand their lifestyle, what they liked, what their daily activities were and how they enjoyed themselves. After an enjoyable and enlightening process, we came back enthusiastic to design a car that would mirror their personality and deliver a vibrant combination of being both sophisticated and energetic. As a team, we came up with the key words 'Robust' and 'Minimalistic', which we felt would express both compactness and agility, as well as the robustness and strength of an SUV. When we started to sketch ideas for the exterior, the iconic image of a diamond consistently came to mind. Subsequently we coined the phrase 'nimble diamond' to express the hard, strong and premium image of the gemstone combined with the agile and fun to drive personality we felt the car needed to convey. From the top view, or plan view as we call it, we 'cut', or 'shaved' the body to give us a diamond shape that allowed us the space to emphasise the fenders. This diamond body shape combined with the 4 bold fenders gave us an energetic shape which was both strong and sophisticated. Clearly, we want the car to be immediately perceived as a SUV, so we emphasised a higher ground clearance, a strong horizontal axis giving a great balance and poise, big squared wheel arches and of course big wheels ... up to 18"! The face was also a very important aspect for us. We wanted to keep the strong DNA of Toyota's SUV line-up but at the same time give Yaris Cross an identity of its own. At the rear, we again focused on giving the car a good stance with the wide fenders illustrating how it looks planted on its wheels. Combining the horizontal rear tail lamps and rear screen clearly shows family identity with Yaris, yet the wider and more squared tailgate hints at the luggage space's larger flexibility for daily usage. For the exterior colour, we started to think about something that could express an active and high-quality image that our target customers would really appreciate. Looking at future colour trends we can see that there is a growing tendency for gold and other precious metals, but we wanted to offer something a bit more natural and urban. Adding a subtle hint of green to the gold direction, whilst also de-saturating the colour to emphasis the metal like appearance, gave us this fresh urban yet active appeal that highlighted the surface form of the exterior. The final result is a colour we call Brass Gold" Toyota expects to produce more than 150,000 Yaris Cross a year at the TMMF Onnaing factory, near Valenciennes in France, and achieve a B-SUV segment share of more than 8%.
  10. For some time, i'm been wondering about potential dangers of EMF from hybrid batteries. These batteries are in big capacity and usually placed in close proximity to drivers and passengers. The car cabin space is very small. So google is my best friend. For those thinking of getting hybrid cars or already driving one, think about EMF dangers. POV, i don't trust the claims from car makers. There are already lots of cheating done on fuel consumption. I'm not surprised if they cheat on the EMF test results. Fuel cheating doesn't damage your health, but EMF will. The all-new 2017 Impreza debuts the Subaru Global Platform architecture that's designed to deliver significantly higher levels of driving pleasure, agility, crash protection and ride comfort and will underpin a variety of upcoming Subaru vehicles, including hybrids. As before, every Impreza is equipped as standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a boon to driving agility and traction and a key advantage over front-wheel drive competitors. The roomier 2017 Impreza models also debut the brand's new design language and new driver-assist technology. Also new, multimedia features including standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and standard Near Field Communication connectivity debut on Impreza. The new Impreza will be available in base, Premium, Sport and Limited trim lines when it arrives in Subaru dealerships in late 2016. Subaru's new design language puts the brand's signature hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights onto a more sculptural body, its athletic stance accentuated by prominent wheel arches and flowing lines. The dramatic new look carries into the cabin, with an outward-flow design that follows the front of the car. The 2017 Impreza rides on a 105.1-in. wheelbase, up 1.0-in. over the last generation Impreza. Both the Sedan and 5-Door are 1.6-in. longer than the outgoing models, and both are 1.5 in. wider. The larger dimensions create a roomier cabin, while a 0.4-in. lower height helps improve aerodynamics with a lower coefficient of drag. Although sleeker in appearance than the previous models, the 2017 Impreza Sedan and 5-Door preserve excellent all-around visibility. The new Subaru Global Platform, together with the Boxer engine, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and EyeSight® that represent Subaru's core technologies, constitutes the basic foundation of the next generation of Subaru vehicles. Impreza's new platform incorporates new frameworks with optimized cross sections and highly stiffened joints between structures to significantly enhance straight-line stability, agility and ride comfort while suppressing noise, vibration and harshness to a degree not seen in the compact class. Specifically, the new platform increases rigidity of the unitized body structure by over 70 percent. A lower center of gravity and revised suspension systems contribute to the biggest-ever leap in Subaru's performance evolution. The double-wishbone independent rear suspension mounts its rear stabilizer bar directly to the body, which helps reduce body roll by 50 percent compared to the outgoing model. Greater hazard-avoidance capability is another benefit of the Subaru Global Platform's inherent handling agility. In addition, the resolute straight-line stability that makes the 2017 Impreza more relaxing to drive is also an important constituent of the autonomous driving capability this platform can support in future Subaru vehicles. Taking full advantage of the new stiffer platform and more powerful engine, the Impreza 2.0i Sport, now available in the Sedan as well as 5-Door, delivers a more fun-to-drive performance feel thanks to exclusive suspension tuning, 18-inch machine-finish alloy wheels and Active Torque Vectoring. Subaru aimed for a new ride/handling balance benchmark in the compact segment. The Sport also includes a new 4-way Tire Pressure Monitoring System, which is available on other models. Exclusive exterior styling and features setting the Impreza Sport apart include standard LED daytime running lights (DRL), black-finish front grille, body-color rocker panels and turn signal side mirrors. The Impreza Sport 5-Door features gloss black rear gate trim, while the Sport Sedan has a rear trunk spoiler. Inside the Sport, unique black cloth upholstery is trimmed with red stitching, a motif that repeats for the steering wheel, gear shift, instrument panel and door trim. The instrument panel incorporates exclusive Sport gauges and a Multi-Function Display. The Sport comes well equipped, with upgrades over the Impreza Premium that include the Subaru STARLINK™ 8.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system, and a new harman/kardon® premium audio system is available. Keyless Access & Push-Button Start, aluminum pedals, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift handle and a CVT shift boot round out the Sport's enhanced standard equipment. A revised version of the FB 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Boxer engine gains direct fuel injection and other enhancements to boost both performance (now 152 horsepower vs. 148 before) and drivability. In highline trims, the Lineartronic® CVT (continuously variable transmission) features a 7-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters that allow the driver to control the transmission via seven pre-set ratios. Subaru designed the 2017 Impreza to provide even higher levels of safety than the outgoing model, which was named an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ when equipped with available EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The new platform underpinning the 2017 Impreza improves crash energy absorption by 40 percent over present models. The EyeSight® system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Lane Departure and Sway Warning, plus a Lane Keep Assist function. Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are also available. Also new are available Steering Responsive Headlights, which can illuminate curves as the vehicle steers into them, and High Beam Assist, which automatically activates and deactivates the high beam headlamps based on driving conditions. All 2017 Impreza models include as standard equipment front seat side impact airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag. The 2017 Impreza adds new driver-assist technologies, including Reverse Automatic Braking and the display of steering lines for the standard rear vision camera. Reverse Automatic Braking can apply the vehicle's brakes if an obstacle is detected while reversing. A new 4-way Tire Pressure Monitoring System can detect pressure drops at individual wheels. Subaru STARLINK™ Multimedia systems offer the latest in digital music playing, Bluetooth® wireless capability, iPod® control, smartphone integration and more. The display screen also provides the display for the standard rear vision camera, and the top-level system includes navigation. The available Subaru STARLINK™ Safety and Security Connected Services give the 2017 Impreza one of the industry's most affordable telematics options. Depending on the package selected, features can include SOS Emergency Assistance, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, Maintenance Notifications, Monthly Vehicle Health Report and Diagnostic Alerts, Stolen Vehicle Recovery Service, Vehicle Security Alarm Notification, Remote Lock/Unlock, Remote Horn and Lights and Remote Vehicle Locator.
  13. Hi all, especially those driving Japanese hybrid cars such as Honda and Toyota, the latest recommended engine oil for the new cars since years ago is 0w8. The car itself when shipped comes in the 0w8 oil. During maintenance and servicing, have you come across 0w8? Can’t seem to find it and shipping it is typically not allowed (like from Amazon Japan etc)

Porsche plans to reveal the first road-going 911 hybrid, pushing the iconic sports car into the modern era. We've seen the 911 hybrid in prototype form for over two years now. Porsche tells us that development is now complete, amassing 3.1 million miles in the process. Some of that mileage comes from the Nürburgring, where Porsche shares a rather tantalizing clue as to what badge the electrified 911 will wear. We're told the hybrid laps the Nordschleife loop in 7 minutes, 16.9 seconds, 8.7 seconds faster than "the corresponding version of the predecessor model." Basic math brings us to 7:25.6, and a quick look through recent Porsche 911 Nurburgring lap times brings us to the 992-generation Carrera S, which turned a 7:25 lap back in 2020. Images shared from Porsche don't reveal badges, but the lack of bonkers bodywork points to something on the milder side. A Carrera S with a hybrid powertrain certainly fits that bill. “For the first time in our icon’s 61-year history, we are installing a hybrid drive system in a roadgoing 911," said Frank Moser, Porsche vice president for the 911 and 718. "This innovative performance hybrid makes the 911 even more dynamic. We left nothing to chance during development and tested the new 911 under all sorts of conditions all over the world from the freezing cold to scorching heat, as was the case during the final stages of testing in Dubai." Details of the hybrid powertrain are as yet unknown. Porsche tells us it's aimed at performance, not efficiency, and we were previously told it won't be a plug-in hybrid. With a 'Ring time of 7:16, is should be plenty fast without losing its capability to carve corners. All will be revealed on May 28.   15. I own a Honda Freed Hybrid 2019 model and this happen to me twice. When going to Malaysia at Woodlands causeway, sometimes it's a long wait. But there are times where it's 1 hour+ at the causeway. The strange thing is that my hybrid battery will go dead, and then the car doesn't seem to move. When I press on the accelerator, the car jerks and has no power moving forward. There is multiple reminder to me that the battery will be dead soon and performance will degrade. Only when the car clears the customs, I drive for about 1km+ then the car goes back to normal. The last time it happens, I have to stop the car, turn off and on, and I see the car charging. So the question is: 1) Why isn't my Freed charging when stationary? Is there a configuration that I need to do in order to enable that? The car instructions are all in Japanese. 2) Will this situation damage the battery life?

The most important detail mentioned in the lengthy document is news about the 911 hybrid. We get to see the electrified sports car early this summer with a six-cylinder engine. It's touted as an "ultra-sporty hybrid" and promises to make the iconic sports car "even faster and more efficient." The partially electrified model will be a new member of a revamped 911 lineup, likely known internally by its "992.2" codename. Interestingly, Porsche hints there will be more than just one version with a hybrid setup, saying the hardware will be used in "selected derivatives of the 911 model line." Porsche doesn't go into any details about the 911 Hybrid, although it does say the newly developed powertrain takes after the firm's racing division. Presumably, lessons learned from the 919 and 963 programs have helped the road car division engineer an electrified 911 to meet increasingly stringent emissions regulations. About a year ago, CEO Oliver Blume said the new car wouldn't be a plug-in hybrid, so no charging port. Separately, Frank Moser, Vice President of 911 and 718 model lines mentioned last year the hybrid model "should not get too heavy," which would explain the non-PHEV route. A plug-in hybrid would've required a bigger battery pack, adding weight and complexity while creating packaging issues. According to sources close to Porsche, the 911 Hybrid will reportedly have a 48V starter motor built into the dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The umpteenth variant of the 911 is said to have an electric motor powering the front wheels while the combustion engine is going to drive the rear axle. Consequently, it'll have all-wheel drive. The e-motor is expected to get its juice from a small, lightweight lithium-ion battery pack developed specifically for this application and mounted behind the rear seats. The weight penalty is unlikely to exceed 220 pounds compared to an equivalent version that doesn't have the extra hybrid bits. The juiciest rumor surrounding the 911 Hybrid is the possibility of an electrified GT2 RS with a mild-hybrid setup. The combined output from the electric motor and a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six is expected to surpass 700 horsepower. The torque figure is unknown, but rumor has it that a "significant increase" is planned over the 911 Turbo S' 590 pound-feet. A weight distribution of 39:61 front/rear is mooted. The crown jewel of the 992 family is apparently scheduled to come out in 2026. A fully electric 911 isn’t happening this generation since Porsche has said an EV won’t be released this decade. The goal is to keep selling 911s with combustion engines for as long as possible, even if that means switching to synthetic fuel to meet stricter regulations. Porsche has been producing nearly carbon-neutral eFuel since late 2022 at its factory in Chile. It's worth noting the European Union has already agreed to exempt synthetic fuels from the 2035 ban on new cars that generate harmful emissions. It could mean the 911's days with combustion engines are not numbered after all.
  17. Hi guys my subaru stock HU is acting up. I am not sure if its worth repairing or rather just do a change. I dont need fancy HU. A standard andriod or carplay function, rear camera and navigation function will suffice. Any good recommendations or which one stop shop to recommend? I think I went to Autoimage decades ago.. Not sure if its still as reliable.

Most recently, Nissan took aim at Toyota's RAV4 hybrid indicating the fuel economy ratings on the popular small SUV are exaggerated. Case in point, the Nissan X-Trail e-Power uses a gasoline engine to recharge the onboard lithium-ion battery and gets an estimated 6.1 liters per 100km, or about 38.6 mpg. By comparison, the Toyota RAV4 uses a conventional hybrid system that delivers an estimated 4.7 liters per 100 km, or the equivalent of 50 mpg, a fuel economy increase of about 30 percent. Nissan indicates that the fuel economy differences between the two vehicles are not as far apart as the estimates suggest and believe the real-world performance is closer. "I think with the fuel economy, it's a tricky one. We'll leave it in your hands to do the real-world testing. But from a lot of the articles I've seen for RAV4 Hybrid, you can't get anywhere near 4.8 (liters per hundred kilometers)," says Aleksandar Pecanac, Nissan Australia's product manager for X-Trail. Nissan goes on to claim that its X-Trail e-Power system delivers a superior driving experience. According to Adam Robertson, deputy director of the Nissan Technical Center in Europe, the X-Trail drives "More like an EV, and we know from our experience with EVs that customers love it." Robertson goes on to say, "EVs have the highest level of satisfaction for acceleration, and that's not just the outright performance for a car like the Porsche Taycan. That's all EVs. "We also know that traditional hybrids have the lowest satisfaction. We wanted to capture the customer experience that they really like and bring that in with e-Power." The Nissan X-Trail e-Power launched last fall in Japan and Europe as an electrified version of the Rogue. The automaker has not yet indicated if and when it will bring the e-Power version of the Nissan Rogue to the US. Currently, Nissan's US website only mentions the e-Power on the Nissan Leaf.

I am starting this new thread/topic on Subaru EyeSight as there have been many discussions among the Impreza, XV and Forester forums, and many Owners are cautious about having solar film fitted to the front windscreen. I collected my SK Forester last week and has been exploring the EyeSight system since then. Let's start with MI disclaimer whereby buyer has to put his/her signature on the declaration form. In my opinion, the disclaimer is very relevant. Why is this so? The EyeSight system allows the driver to drive with it OR to manually switch-off either lane-departure detection or pre-collision braking or both features altogether. The 2 switches are located on the cabin roof, above the rear view mirror. In other words, Subaru (or anybody else) will not know whether the EyeSight was in operation should a front collision occurs. Also, EyeSight will not work above 60 km/h (+ / - ). What will happen if a crazy driver drives at high speed and crash his Subie and then seek legal compensation from Subaru for the "defective" EyeSight system. I am sure all other car manufacturers that offer driver assist crash avoidance system will insist buyers to sign the Disclaimer form. At the end of the day, the driver is still fully responsible for the vehicle safety, not technology. To be continued ...

The Subaru Forester is on track to be the brand's bestselling model in the United States in 2020, and the company is doubling down on the success by preparing a refresh for the popular crossover. After seeing spy shots of the updated model, the folks at Kolesa have a rendering imagining how it might look. As with most refreshes, don't expect any revolutionary design changes. The comparison below shows the 2022 model with a boxier grille and relocated crosspiece that shifts the Subaru badge lower on the vehicle's face. The revised lower fascia has somewhat larger openings in the corners, and the fog lights remain there. The opening in the center is bigger, too. Expect only the smallest changes along the Forester's flanks. Subaru might change some of the trim, but the crossover is going to look the same, in general. The changes to the rear are very minor. A revised bumper no longer has an opening for the exhaust outlet, which creates a somewhat cleaner appearance back there. The hatchback is a bit smoother, too. There are no details yet about how Subaru might change the refreshed Forester's interior. The usual recipe these days involves updating the infotainment system with a bigger screen and tweaking the cabin's materials. Powertrain changes are similarly mysterious. Expect the 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engine to stick around. In a dream world, Subaru would re-introduce a turbocharged version of the Forester by installing the brand's 260-horsepower (194-kilowatt) 2.4-liter powerplant into the crossover. Although, there's no evidence that this is what the automaker plans to do. Look for the refreshed Forester to debut in the first few months of 2021. Sales should begin in the second half of the year.
