    3. A discretionary right turn goes wrong and ends up in a collision at Yishun Avenue 2. The incident occurred yesterday (June 22) when a white Honda Civic attempted to perform a discretionary right turn at a junction and collided with a black Hyundai Tucson. The video also showed another van swerving around the Honda Civic after the crash to avoid hitting it again. A pedestrian was also seen lying on the ground at the end of the video. However, it was not specified if the black Hyundai Tucson had hit the pedestrian. A discretionary right turn refers to a junction allowing for motorists to make a right turn as long as there is a suitable gap in oncoming traffic. The driver is allowed to decide when to turn right when he or she feels that it is safe to do so without the need for a green arrow. This is not the first time that a vehicle performing a discretionary right turn ends up in a serious traffic accident. In 2018, two high-profile traffic incidents involving vehicles attempting to perform discretionary right turns resulted in the deaths of two people. According to Channel News Asia, the Land Transport Authority announced plans to phase out discretionary right turns in Singapore following the two fatal accidents. By 2023, more than 1,200 junctions will have red-amber-green turning arrows. While the importance of discretionary right turns has been a popular debate topic, it goes without saying that drivers should take extra precaution when performing such manoeuvers. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. Variant "N" I20 & Tucson

Rumors of the Hyundai i20 and Tucson getting hotter N variants have been circulating before the launch of the i30 N. https://www.mycarforum.com/blog/12/entry-5666-hot-n-versions-of-hyundai-i20-and-tucson-said-to-be-coming/
    6. Rumors of the Hyundai i20 and Tucson getting hotter N variants have been circulating before the launch of the i30 N. According to AutoExpress, both models have seem to be given the green light for production since then. Set to go on sale in about two years from now, the Tucson N will have around 335bhp, enabling it to hit 100km/h from a standstill in six seconds or so. Likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, the car will go up against the Cupra Ateca and its other rivals. Naturally, the SUV will also benefit from the usual handling upgrades to make sure it can handle the extra power. As for the possible i20 N hatch, the Korean company feels that it needs a proper Ford Fiesta ST and Renault Clio R.S. rival. Set to debut next year, it will be blessed with the classic modern hot hatch formula: a electronic differential, front-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine that will produce more than 200bhp.

      Review: Hyundai Tucson 2.0 GLS

The Koreans have improved their cars so much in the recent years that you cannot label them as budget carmakers anymore. Their latest offering, the all new Tuscon SUV, is no exception. Looking more stylish and handsome with its latest 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design, the Tuscon is arguably one of the best looking SUVs in its class. But watch out, its other Korean rival, the Kia Sportage which has yet to arrive on our shores, is one good looker too! It might just be me but I thought the rear lights give the Tuscon a wide and low-slung look. Inside, the design is slightly less adventurous but it sure is functional. Storage space upfront is good and the quality of the plastics on the dash are as good as the rest of the class. Space at the back is plentiful. Large sunroof enhances cabin space too. Nothing fancy here. Controls are all well laid out. Blind Spot Detection useful in Singapore's wild traffic. On the topic of traffic, I found the Auto Hold function more useful than I thought. Just remember to turn it off before you start parking else you might find yourself waiting for the car to creep after coming to a complete stop. Select-able Drive Mode good to have but does not change the attitude of the car much. Found myself using the Sport setting only as the other modes made the car slightly less responsive. Six-speed automatic smooth and fast enough for an SUV. Could be more responsive in Manual mode but I am just nitpicking here. For those who are keen in driving, there isn't much joy in driving the Tucson fast. Handling is best described as secure which is no bad thing for a family SUV. The ride is well-damped and it can actually carry decent speeds into the turns. While the steering weight is fine, the feel could be improved as it felt slightly artificial at times. Overall, this is an enjoyable and smart SUV from Hyundai. If you are shopping for a soft off roader and find the Qashqai getting a bit too common, you might want this on your shopping list.

      Tucson

Hi, Saw the tucson at jurong point today and i find it a nice car. Anyone knows if Tucson singapore version comes with ABS? I assume it is a standard item with Jap cars, but not sure for Korean makes. I know that it came with 1 air bag and not like tat shown in the brochure (dual and side air bags). Wonder how is the internal space compare with sonata? Thanks!
    18. Just went up Genting last Sunday with my 4 year old Hyundai Tucson. It was a hot day, and after about 4 hours of driving, the air-con started to fail with only normal air coming out from the fan. I heard a lot about Tucson air-con failing, I even laugh at my friends who are driving them, but never thought that it will happen to me one day. They went back to agent, who claimed that the thermoset stops functioning, agent just did a reset but it comes back again later. Anyone knows what will be the repair likely to be so that I can get well equip with this knowledge when I visit any workshop (maybe you guys can recommend me a good air-con service workshop?). Cheers!
    19. Anyone driving Tucson 2.0A? The 2007 model..... Any major problems? Maintainance? And petrol? Thanks.
    20. Hi all forum bros...I know this question is not new here but i still don't few comfortable about some questions. Maybe someone can convince me on really which SUV to go for. :( Understand from reading here that the FC and performance of both are similar......(am i right?) I went to C&C as well as Hyndai last weekend. Tucson selling at 62K and Sportage at $63.99K. At a lower price Hyndai is offering me a higher price (2K more) to buy my old car vs C&C. Off hand, i will save 4K if i go for Tuscon. I love the look of Sportage and don't mind paying for the 4K just to get it. But i am worried about the resale price that i will get when i want to sell it off in years to come. Anyone can advice please?

      Car battery for Tucson

hi everyone my poor tucson refused to start up yesterday got jumpstarted by a guy from star motors. he says i should change the battery and quoted $260 for an amaron maintenance free battery. my car agent says this is too expensive. the star guy says cheaper model will not sit in the space properly. so decided to ask around first before changing. anyway, my car seems to be working fine now. is the battery really weak? or was yesterday's "flat" just a freak incidence? what brand of car battery is suitable for tucson? how much does it cost? would appreciate all you sifus' recommendations. thanks in advance!
