  1. Tyres are important to any vehicle because they are the sole point of contact between the road and your vehicle. Regardless of the type of tyre equipped, it is always important to drive prudently and refrain from speeding, especially during wet weather conditions. Watch what befalls this speeding Audi on a rainy day: Location The incident location is on the ECP towards KPE (ECP) at exit 14. The image below is what the area looks like during good weather. What Happened? An Audi TT was travelling on lane 1 of ECP at a relatively high speed while it was raining. Due to its speed and the wet road conditions, the Audi sports car lost traction to its wheels, causing it to aquaplane. Within seconds, it spun out of control - it slid across the expressway, from lane one to the last lane. Just when it was about to smash into the railings, the Audi TT gained some traction in its wheels and seemingly executed a well-performed J-turn (out of pure luck). Miraculously, the Audi TT emerged unharmed - WITHOUT A SINGLE SCRATCH. The Audi driver probably used up his entire year's worth of luck. Netizens' Comments Confirm shrink one. I am not surprised if he stops driving after this traumatic experience. NGL, this is the fastest way I have seen someone exit an expressway. How fast do y'all think he was going? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  2. Have you ever had to carry your family’s groceries in one trip after they have been on an NTUC run? Usually, it takes two or three trips (with a trolley) to haul back all of the plastic bags but every once in a while, your parents might hit you with the “It’s fine. It’s not that heavy. You can carry all of them back with your hands.”. While you try your best to balance the hefty weight on your arms, your body might feel like it’s going to burst any second. Well, that’s what happened with this truck. On Saturday (4 Dec), a cam car caught the moment when the rear tailgate of a truck suddenly broke off the vehicle on the expressway. After snapping off, the heavy tailgate cartwheeled across the road, hitting the side of a white Audi TT. While the rest of the truck was encased by a cloud of soil, the cam car immediately came to a halt after witnessing the horrific hit. The cam driver hopes that his video will assist the white Audi TT in making an insurance claim for any damages done. How did this happen? Although this was not the first time we heard of a vehicle getting hit by some random part of another vehicle, incidents like this should not be a common occurrence. Last week, a tyre fell from a different truck and hit another vehicle on the PIE. While there were no injuries reported, the scene of a flying tyre is more than enough to traumatize a driver. Even though there are no solid details on what happened in this video, netizens were quick to speculate several possibilities. The first was that the truck driver failed to maintain his vehicle correctly and did not perform the necessary checks to ensure that his truck was safe to drive. The other possibility was that the load of soil that the truck was carrying was too heavy, resulting in the tailgate's sudden breakage. While we might not know for sure how this happened, we’re glad that nobody was severely injured from this potentially deadly incident. 3. Here's A First Look At The 2019 Audi TT RS Facelifthttps://carbuzz.com/news/here-s-a-first-look-at-the-2019-audi-tt-rs-facelift The copious amounts of camouflage could be deceiving. The current-generation Audi TT has been on sale in America since 2015, so it's due for a refresh to keep it relevant. To keep it fresh for a few more years, Audi is giving its popular sports car a facelift. Prototypes of the base model have been out testing for a while, but our spies recently spotted the updated hardcore Audi TT RS undergoing some hot weather testing in Europe. Copious amounts of camouflage cover the front, but we’re expecting the styling changes to be relative minor compared to the current TT RS. The grille appears to be slightly wider with new vertical vents alongside it, and the front bumper has been redesigned. The headlights also appear to be slimmer, but that could just be the camouflage deceiving us. Elsewhere, the side skirts look more pronounced than the current model. At the back, the amount of camouflage suggests there will be big changes but they will probably be just as subtle. We can see some minor tweaks to the rear spoiler, and the rear taillights also sport new graphics that make the TT RS look more modern. There could also be some small changes to the rear bumper. Chances are the interior will be updated, too. The current Audi TT's interior is already loaded with tech, but that probably won’t stop Audi updating the infotainment system. It isn’t known if the 2019 Audi TT RS facelift will receive a power boost, however. The current model is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder unit that produces 395 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the facelifted model retains this setup. In the current model, 0-62 mph takes just 3.6 seconds, with power being sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Audi is expected to reveal the TT facelift later this year, so we could see the 2019 TT RS debut at the Paris Auto Show in October before it goes on sale early next year.
  4. Long time no see. Any opinions on the Audi TT Coupe 2.0 would be much appreciated. In consideration of a change. Thank you.
  5. As they're old, cheap and four wheel drive, I'd always wanted to turn a Mk1 Audi TT into an off-roader. Then my daughter wanted a project so she could learn some mechanical skills... so we're doing it! Been going a little while but I wondered whether you guys would like to see it. If it's in the wrong place in the forum, please feel free to move it, or to delete it if it's just not appropriate for any reason! I'm on Youtube as Dave Makes Stuff if anyone's interested in seeing more: https://youtu.be/fgBrjKUdC9I
  6. Now that is one close shave. As seen on SG Road Vigilante's facebook page, an Audi TT failed to stop at the give way line, nearly crashing into a Mitsubishi Lancer Ex which had the right of way on 29th of April Eagle-eyed readers would have definitely spotted the P-plate sign on the Audi, signaling to us that this might just be a rookie's honest mistake. In our opinion, we thought the camera car would have gotten a larger shock, seeing the Lancer swerve into his lane along Sengkang West Road. On another note, should the Lancer have slowed down instead of (recklessly)accelerating into the camera car's lane? Any bro here test drove the Audi TTS already? can give some opinion on the ride? thanks and appreciate
  8. Shot by Autogespot, Audi's upcoming performance RS variant for the TT coupe, has been spotted undisguised in a petrol station in Spain. Rumored to be powered by a slightly different version of the current RS3's 2.5-litre turbocharged engine, the TT RS should have around 380bhp or thereabouts. Either a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch transmission can be paired with the car while Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system is standard.
  9. Audi of America has released a new commercial for the new TT and they believe that the TT is capable of making your imagination a reality. Directed by Mouse McCoy and produced by the Bandito Brothers, the commerical, “Audi TT: Reality? Check.” uses the cool tilt-shift photography style to obtain the miniature effect. Yes everything you see in the spot is real! For those who want to see how it is done, there's a little behind-the-scene clip too... https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=86&v=vKW5_dYsd8s https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=154&v=XyOgFi4OG7o
  10. -Project Kahn Audi TR8- Recently Project Kahn previewed its reworking of the Audi TT. It basically looks like an R8 with the R8 side panels in a different colour and all so much so that they have named it the Project Kahn Audi TR8. It does look good in all of its photo enhanced glory doesn't it? But we have to note that this isn't the first Audi TT that was done up to look like its bigger brother. We already have Caractere doing the same thing with their Audi TT bodykit and we also have Niche Design doing the same thing. I suppose this shows that at least a good number of Audi TT owners actually cannot afford to buy the Audi R8 and end up modifying their TT for good measure. Or bad measure. Or whatever way so that they can achieve their goal in a slightly warped sort of way. Now this is similar to those that end up making their BMW 3 or 5 series into the M versions of their car. Of course some of them end up just changing the rear badging to achieve this goal. This is actually the cheapest way of 'achieving' their dreams, and the fastest way to be laughed at by a true motorhead. Or if you're talking about the lower end of the scale we have people doing up their Proton Saga into Subaru Impreza and it isn't even the same brand! The thing is, why won't anyone who actually owns an Audi R8 decide to turn it into a TT? Now this would be a really interesting project for people like Project Kahn or any of the Audi tuners. Imagine Project Kahn selling the R-TT; an Audi R8 with an Audi TT aping bodykit. It would be fabulous. Imagine cruising down the autobahn in the R-TT and then some insignificant little Volkswagen Golf GTI giving you the 'Get out of the way' flashing headlights and you simply floor the throttle and leave the puny Golf and its driver wondering what the heck just happened. Or if a Mercedes Benz C63 AMG owner would be so humble to remove his car's AMG and '63 ' badges and stick on the C180 'Blue efficiency' badging instead. It would be a Mastercard moment indeed to watch those pesky Toyota Camry drivers on the Malaysian highways thinking that they've got a big car and that they're pretty fast. I suppose this will only happen if the owners of the higher powered Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz would become 'humble' and be willing to step down an imaginary notch to pull a really fast one on others. Let's hope that someone affluent enough reads this and is totally willing to do what I've just suggested. So if you're rich and you couldn't care less about your Audi R8 looking like a TT, you should be the one doing such a thing. Everyone is making cheaper cars into more expensive ones so it will be something unique indeed if someone did it the other way round. -Niche Design Audi TT- -the original Audi R8 - Imagine if this was rebadged as a TT! -
  11. A driver drove his 3.2-litre Audi TT for more than 130,000 km without any engine oil change. And this is how it looks like after it finally gave up. According to one of the users from the Audi TDI forum, a couple of pictures of the ruined engine were published in a post and the photos has since floated around the net. It is not known why the owner stopped changing the engine oil but it is almost a certain that the engine has to be replaced. For Audi TT owners out there who have the 3.2-litre VR6 engine which outputs around 246bhp, it should pretty comforting to know that your engine can take some real abuse!
  12. Here's the new Audi TT. The third-generation of Audi's two-seat sports car made its debut under the lights at Volkswagen's all-encompassing Group Night. Drawing inspiration from both the original TT and the Audi Sport Quattro Concept, the new TT is more of an evolution of the second-generation's look, wearing the same basic shape. The rear is reminiscent of the first TT, with the rounded look of the fenders and taillights meeting with the roofline to offer a stylish form factor that's accented by a subtle set of twin exhausts. As with the gen-two car, that sloping rear hides a spoiler that deploys automatically at 75 miles per hour. The front, meanwhile, with its sculpted grille and headlights, reminds us quite forcibly of Audi's heritage-inspired concepts, the Quattro and the aforementioned Sport Quattro. Under hood, there will be three powertrains available. The base is a 2.0-liter, TDI four-cylinder with standard stop-start that churns out 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, all while returning in a hugely impressive 56 miles per gallon. It'll hit 100km/h in a reasonable 7.2 seconds. The TT with the TDI mill is only available with front-wheel drive. The two engines we're most likely to see stateside are variations of Audi's popular 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder. The base engine delivers 230hp and 272lb-feet of torque, which can be delivered through either a 6-speed manual to the front wheels or through a 6-speed dual-clutch S-Tronic to a Quattro all-wheel-drive system. As with the TDI option, the past several years of TT indicate that we shouldn't count on a FWD, manual-trans model. Equipped with the 6MT, drivers can expect to hit 100km/h in 6 seconds, while the DCT/Quattro model can get there in a scant 5.3. Both cars are limited to 250km/h. For those with a heavier foot, Audi's second-generation TTS should fill the bill, offering up 310hp and 280lb-ft of torque from its 2.0T. A six-speed manual will be available as standard (again, probably not for the US) while a six-speed S-tronic will also be available. 100km/h arrives in just 4.7 seconds, meaning it's just 0.6 seconds slower than the limited-run TTRS.
  13. On the occasion of the DTM race in Shanghai, the German automaker presented the concept of a GT4 car based on the TT sports coupe. The Ingolstadt-based automaker has yet to release the full engine specifications but it did note that the GT4 is equipped with a TFSI engine delivering about 340 hp. The direct-injected powerplant is linked to an a S-tronic transmission with a differential lock. The racing package also includes a modified production suspension with adjustable dampers plus 9.5 x 18 inch light alloy wheels. The front apron, rear apron and the rear wing are sourced from the production Audi TT RS while the hood, doors and trunk lid are made of CFRP (Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer). The windows are made of plastic. Being a racecar, the GT4 also gets a roll-cage, a safety-optimized fuel tank along with a host of other modifications. The racer will set buyers back for about
  14. Audi has facelifted the TT for the 2011 model year with both the hardtop and roadster versions sporting revised exteriors and interiors. Being typical Audi, the facelift follows Audi's trend for little nips and tucks here and there and nothing fancy. The 2011 models sport a front with bigger air inlets, a shinier glossy black grill and those Audi LED daytime driving lights which were first seen on the TTS version. All TT variants have this feature now. At the rear, we have a rear diffuser with different exhaust outlet/s and almost unnoticeable tail light touchups. Some new colours are also available, Scuba Blue, Oolong Gray, Volcano Red and Dakota Gray. The interior has received a nip and tuck as well, with three new cabin colors, leather that's been specially treated to resist solar heat, and new aluminum bits of trim here and there. And now we get to the more interesting part, for me that is as I don't actually give two hoots about small little facelifts unless there's a technical change. A new 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine sits under the bonnet and it now comes with 211 bhp instead of the 200 bhp that the old one had. While it has more power it has lots more torque, 350Nm compared to 280Nm. Audi's Valvelift system (Audi's version of variable valve timing and lift control) helps the engine achieve this sort of torque figures. Audi says that the 2.0TFSI TT Quattro will reach 100km/h from standstill in 5.6 seconds. This engine will effectively replace both the earlier 200bhp version as well as the 3.2 liter FSI version too. The levels of torque make the old 3.2 v6 somewhat redundant and this is the reason Audi is dropping this model. The rest of the TT range are a 1.8 TFSI version with 160 bhp/250 Nm and a 2.0 TDI version with 170 bhp/350 Nm. The diesel is pretty economical with a combined consumption of 18.9 km/l. Available as an option on all variants is Audi
  15. The Audi TT RS is finally getting the VW Group's S tronic, 7-speed DSG gearbox. Audi has announced that the dual-clutch transmission will be available in the TT RS, both in the coupe and roadster variants, as of this month. The DSG gearbox promises to deliver improved fuel economy as the seventh gear comes with a long ratio to reduce engine speed with offers tons of torque on hand to keep the TT RS moving. The TT RS comes with a direct-injection, 2.5 liter, 5-cylinder turbocharged engine, which won the International Engine of the Year award for its category just this past June. The TFSI engine produces 340 PS and achieves a maximum torque of 450 Nm . Coupled to the S tronic, the TT RS now has a fuel economy rating of 8.5 liters/100 km with CO2 emissions of 197 g/km in the coupe variant. The century sprint for the DSG equipped TT RS coupe is 4.3 seconds as compared to 4.6 seconds for the 6-speed manual version. Top speed is an electronically limited 250 km/h, which can be optionally removed in certain markets.
  16. Audi and Volkswagen tuner ABT have upgraded their performance package for the Audi TT RS, enabling it to achieve near supercar levels of performance in terms of outright power. The previous iteration of the ABT TT RS developed 420bhp. Up from the standard 340bhp. Now, it packs 501bhp. Enough to make even a Porsche 911 Carrera feel like a Volkswagen Beetle. According to ABT, the TT RS allows the owner of such a car to experience

    MTM tunes up Audi TT-RS

MTM has unveiled their new tuning program for the Audi TT-RS. For a whopping USD $19,810, the company equips the 2.5-liter TFSI engine with revised ECU, a MTM turbocharger and a new exhaust system. Thanks to these modifications, output climbs from 335 hp to 465 hp. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 312 km/h. This is improvement of 0.7 seconds and 62 km/h over the standard factory TT RS. By coughing out an additional USD $13,620, you can have MTM

  21. The Audi TT is finally unveiled. All assumptions on how it looks are either confirmed or debunked! This is what the world will get its hands on come 2007. The new Audi TT! Please note that these are neither concept shots nor photoshopped images. These are official pictures. So this is the real thing. Now for my opinion. I think it's such a letdown, especially after all the hype and teasing. I don't know whether you guys can recall, but i remember being weak in the knees and falling in love the with Audi TT TEN years ago when it first came out. It was such a shocker, a trendsetter. Now, the 2007 Audi TT just didn't live up to its predecessor. Yes, it's nice of course. But don't you think Audi (or VW for that matter) just merely facelifted the car? I mean, they just didn't have the balls to create another trendsetter. It seems that they're too intoxicated by the success of the original TT formula that they're just ran outta fuel. The rear looks nice, but it's a facelift of the previous TT's rear. The front looks nice, but it just blends with the rest of the audi range (taking cues from the nuvolari concept). Yes the new Audi TT looks nice, but it just doesnt excite me. I think many of you feel the same as i do. What a letdown. Oh yea, somehow the headlamps remind me of the new ford focus'. Anyone think so too? Sigh. Sigh. Sigh. Can't imagine they took ten years and came up with something so conservative. My wife calls it a "cowardly attempt at remaking a legend". She still loves the original TT.

  25. Audi is developing a replacement for the Audi TT sports car, which has been on the market since 1998. The first prototype mules have been caught, and here they're joined by illustrations showing how the final TT may look when the new coupe is shown at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new model will keep the same Deco-fabulous styling, but will grow somewhat to bestow its passengers with more interior space. The radical new front grille from the A8 and A6 will be adapted. And the coupe will also feature a retractable rear spoiler for more downforce. Once again the new Audi TT will be available with either front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive. Power will come from various transversely mounted in-line four-cylinder and V-6 engines. A super-sporty TT RS version is said to be in the pipeline, too, as a rival against the likes of Mercedes SLK AMG or the M-version of BMW's Z4. The roadster TT will show up a year after the debut of the coupe.
