Driving a 2018 KIA Cerato. Speakers seemed spoilt (only 1 working) and need some advise. I don't need anything fancy, just simple speakers will suffice. 1) Can I just change the speakers without changing the head unit? 2) Any shop recommendation? I stay in the West. 3) What's the typical price range for changing 4 speakers? Any bang for buck speaker model recommendation?

Both also not available, Stonic and K3 Cerato are remove from SG market. The cheapest is now 1.6L Niro Hybrid also $166K to the most expensive being the EV9. Time have change, now $150K - $180K only get B&B car, last time before Covid can get flagship model. I am waiting for 1.6L Kia Sportage Hybrid to come SG but after 3 years nothing yet and Korea already facelift in 2024.

Hi All, i had recently purchased a 'new' 08 kia cerato variant 2, intending it to service my needs of ferrying my family and kiddo around. Everything seems well and fine, until i went for a fan belt, water pump change 2 weeks later, as i want the car to be in perfect running condition. After the change, things starts going haywire.. the car temperature gauge starts to creep up past 1/2 point mark, till 3/4 to 'Hot'. This happened when i drove the car for some time (30 mins or so?) and when the car is idling either from traffic lights, or parked in the parking lot. Rev-ing the car in neutral, or moving off will result in temperature dropping. Fan is spinning when aircon is on, fan is spinning when aircon is off as well, hence mech said its isnt the issue. Went back to garage the next day, was advised to changed out radiator and refresh a few hoses, as the radiator were kinda chocked with, and it even choked several hoses as well. Thermostat had been removed as well -.- Sadly, after doing all the changes, the issue still persist. Noticed during the testing of car after installation done, air bubbles were present in the coolant reserve tank. Mech said most likely head gasket is gone as well. Curious any bro or sis or gurus had any similar experiences on this? how much roughly will the repair cost be this time? Sigh :/ Thanks!

@kobayashiGT Not too sure about the specs, but Kona definitely feels much more spacious. Rear seats were also alot more comfortable for my wife, which was a determining factor. Test drove both in a day and generally prefer Kona. the base model for Kona also had more stuff as compared to niro base model. Another factor was the sales service at Kia, so bad when i went down recently. no time for you and one of them gave a very bad impression but maybe because busy. Hyundai, though busy at least smile smile. For info, i drove a kia cerato previously and was good nonetheless (servicing etc).

Hi all, Going to collect car soon. Some newbie questions. 1. Will the warranty void if I upgrade the kia dashcam to other brand with battery pack connected to fuse box from outside workshop? 2. Will the warranty void if I upgrade the car battery to higher capacity battery? Any recommended brand and workshop? TIA

My current ride will be scrapping in December, am considering between the Elantra S and Cerato EX not ruling out other options looks the Jazz 1.5 The Hyundai is at the tail end of its current facelift with 2019 model already announced. Whereas the Cerato is a brand new facelift. Was actually quite biased against against Kia before yesterday as I totally hated the old Cerato, forte, and k3. So my test drive for the Cerato was pretty biased also. Until yesterday after I paid a second visit to Hyundai, then decided to pop by C&C just to look at the c4 cactus, the Cerato was parked outside. The more I look at it, the more the looks grow on me. So went inside the showroom again, have a sit inside the Cerato’s cabin......is like totally win the Elantra many times over. I don’t reallly mind the exterior of the Elantra S but I find the interior very dated. The Cerato EX cost more, but the equipment level is close to the Elantra elite. Weight wise, the Elantra is 100kg heavier Engine wise, the Cerato is using an older generation engine. (This is my main concern) I test drive both cars, but am unable to get any head on conclusion as I went to test drive the Elantra at leng kee and the Cerato at ubi. I don’t know is it psychological, but the Hyundai felt smoother and picks up abit easier. The additional 50l boot space of the Cerato doesn’t concern me much.

@13177 In most countries its called its original name same as Korea which is K3 and it's bigger brother K5, there are also K7 and the flagship K9. Cerato name meh. The above article said is Kia RIO replacement so the real K3 launch at South Korea is not yet shown yet.

Seems that the Avante is too aesthetically un-appearing for your taste. This leaves the Cerato vs City. Do bear in mind that the City is like from a half-class below but priced-up to the level of the Cerato and Avante. If Cerato vs City, I'll go for the Cerato. Because personally speaking, it just feels better to be in and to drive. Now let say if you stretch your budget and add the Honda Civic into the picture. On paper the Cerato's and Civic's engine power and fuel consumption ratings are about the same. Interior space wise they are also about the same. New Civic I haven't driven or test-drive one so I don't know about its engine smoothness, acceleration or transmission feel. As regards the Cerato, I feel it is very reasonable smooth and swift, and I like its torque converter AT. The Civic is about $30K more than the Cerato. But is the Cerato, over the course of its usage/life span here, $30K less reliable than the Civic? In terms of broken parts replacement costs.

Mr Zul, Kia Cerato He saw our ads on the KIA Cerato(s) we have done previously and dropped an inquiry for his ride. He visited our showroom to view our samples as he couldn't decide on the design and carbon choices. Our sales team advised him on the available options for custom order. He finally settled for a carbon fiber design pairing with our in house extended paddle shifters. He upgraded his non paddle shifter to paddle shifter steering wheel thus he is now able to shift using the paddle shifters. Definitely not an issue for us since we have done it for KIA before. I wouldn't exactly call this a Jap car.. it's direct brother / cousin is French... The Sunny, the Cerato, Bluebird or the Godzilla etc etc are Jap..

All the car there engine range and model are so much better than here. Even Vietnam Kia Cerato is getting the 1.6T engine. We are still getting the old 1.6NA engine. No thanks to our COE and tax system.

@13177 Presently, I am driving a 4 years old SX Cerato. I don't smoke and drink. I am enjoying driving my Cerato. My car is just like a workhorse. Sending children to school, running errands with my family, sending my mom for medical checkup and etc. I don't feel I am worse off with my car. I wash, polish and wax my car. Very good exercise.
