  1. http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...385&DL=2487 for the above 2nd hand civic, can i say the tail-light will definitely fail inspection? quite interested but i think quite troublesome to have to source for original tail-light when it comes to inspection next year.
  2. Hey guys! i just want to share this incident i had on my previous EG9 ride... The 5th generation civic are so damn popular to those who wants performence...well not all but most people. The shape is nice, a powerfull Vtec, it gives a hell a good sound, lots of aftermarket products and many many more... Having said that...it all comes with lots and lots of $$$ to reach to a level where your car actually is alive and not dying, what do i mean by that? what i meant was these "COE" civic are usually an old car and today it has reached its age of almost 19 years and above....and you should know what to expect from an old car, replacing its wear & tear parts especially. Well here is my part of the story on my civic, I'm 19 this year and i just passed my license last year Nov, i was darn excited having to know i can drive a car and it has always been my dream to have a Honda Civic in the 5th Gen. era and i am a huge fan of VTEC & Spoon Sports! so i went searching high and low for civics went to Thompson Used car lot, SHC Forum, SG.Carmart, Ubi Automart... Till i bumped into a very nice EG9 with full Spoon Sports Decal immediately i went to call the dealer to have a test drive and a look at the car... and here is what it looks like... Damn power i tell you (to me lah) haha, then the interia was all nice well taken care of...with nice black leather seats pure JDM interior with momo steering...At that time i did't know much about checking the engines so i was so careless without caring about the engine with is the most important part of the car in order to keep it moving... And plus it was selling cheap and thats where my nightmare begins... Firsly of all i was supporting the car on my own and im kinda in a budget lifestyle so i did't had much cash to modify my ride most of the time and my plan was to save cash and modify my ride if i had the extra $$ in hand.... then after driving 3 weeks of driving and roaring of my vtec... then my brakes starts to make screeching sounds...i called up the previous owner and i said "eh bro what happen uh the break makes lots of noise, you change brake pads already?" he replied " Yes i did... only pass 4 months ago " then i was thinking why would brake pads finish that fast? Nevermind... i brought my car to a workshop and have it checked then they say "WAH U SIAO AH! YOUR BRAKE PAD FINISH ALREADY LIAO SO THIN LIKE BAK KWA LIAO! YOU ROTOR ALSO GOING TO DAMAGE" then i got angry but forget it i changed all my brake pads which cost me $150 cause my rotors are still ok...or not it will cost me more...After changing my brakes it all good... then 2 weeks later im due for servicing, so i went to a workshop to do a Premium full pakage Servicing on my car for $400+ cause i was thinking since its old why not spend abit more for the car, and i thought by doing all these my car would be healthy and again, i was WRONG! 2 months later multiple problems came up, let me list them for you... 1. Lower Engine block leaking badly 2. Lights blowing 3. Engine stalling halfway 4. Tires wared out (Until threads can be seen) 5. Gasket Wah can die liao and plus i got no more cash for all this problems...i continued and did't care so much...till one day i was driving then my "Engine Check Light" came on, i called my civic friends to ask why and they said that could be many posibilities then i realize that if the light came on i off my engine and start it back up again it light dissapears temporarily, went to some workshops to check it up and they said my ECU is in bad shape and recommend me to change...yet again i did't had cash... so then i did't change it and began driving and driving till my EG life fades. I woke up in the morning and i can't even start my engine...i was so sad and i had no more money to do anything it best saying that my EG9 passed away unless Rebuilt or Overhauled which cost a bomb. less then 4 months i sold away my civic without even enjoying yet i suffered. To all those bros out there who are in a tight budget think again before getting an old car, cause its a hell of a challenge to maintain this babies.. I'm just sharing this story so that people dont make the same mistake as i did before cause there cars are cheap to buy but very very expensive to maintain. Hope this story helps :)
  3. Just bought a 2nd hand 2006 civic 1.8, everything is perfect except, when i have the turn light on, in addtion to the normal blinking sound, a weir clicking/ticking noise is heard if turn the steering wheel, it only happens when the turn light is on. any one has any ideas?
  4. The intention is right but I guess the action is mixed with too much emotion.... SINGAPORE: Former MediaCorp actor Ng Aik Leong, better known as Huang Yiliang, was fined $3,000 on Thursday for hurting a woman who failed to clean up after her dog. The 50-year-old man, who left MediaCorp in 2008 and currently owns a production house, pleaded guilty to voluntarily causing hurt. The altercation took place near Toa Payoh Lorong 2 on May 20, 2011. 48-year-old Mdm Tan Buay Huang was walking her dog when Ng noticed from inside his car that she did not dispose of her dog's faeces properly. He drove up to her and scolded her for not cleaning up. Both parties started to quarrel and the incident escalated to the point where Ng and the victim started video-recording and taking pictures of each other with their handphones. The court also heard that Mdm Tan later tried to prevent Ng from leaving by standing in front of his car. Ng then got out of his car, grabbed Mdm Tan's neck and pushed her aside, causing her to fall. He continued taunting her while holding her down forcefully. In his mitigation, Ng's lawyer Mr Bala Chandran, said the scuffle arose as a result of Mdm Tan's actions rather than Ng's own volition. He added that Ng was "merely doing a civic duty by requesting the victim to pick up her dog's faeces". However, in response, Deputy Public Prosecutor Crystal Tan argued that Ng was clearly badgering Mdm Tan by taunting and honking at her. In addition, she said video footage revealed that Ng had admitted he was bothering Mdm Tan intentionally, and even threatening to send her to jail. In sentencing, District Judge Lee Poh Choo addressed the root of the incident, noting that it "arose from the ungracious behaviour of an irresponsible dog owner". While she said that Ng was right in confronting Mdm Tan, she added that he had "unfortunately went overboard", and reacted in an "ungentlemanly manner". The court also heard that Mdm Tan, who suffered multiple abrasions, will not be seeking compensation. Ng could have been jailed up to two years, and fined $5,000. - CNA/wm

  6. See the link: http://www.mycarforum.com/blog/myautoblog/...charged-engine/ Finally, Honda is back with Type R - 1.6L Turbo estimated 210 hp. I am sure this is going to great for SIN especially 1.6L (Cat A) car. Probably, you guy should watch the WTCC racing and digest how the Type R perform...... Civic has lost much of the market share in Europe since the 9th generation win the boy's racer choice.
  7. 2013 looks nicer and the interior is no longer plastic plastic .

  9. My civic is due for the 30k km servicing very soon. What happens if i dont send it back to KM? Will i void warranty or something. I have been sending my car for the 1k, 10k and 20k servicing to KM. Seems to me that the servicing is very expensive. They charged me close to $300 for the 20k servicing, so I think it will be even more for the 30k one. Am I right to assume that that it will be cheaper if done elsewhere. What are the consequences if I do it elsewhere?
  10. Just wanna share with forumer here. First time servicing at this workshop at Circuit Rd. I took the $110 package. After checking, recommended to change air filter $28, auto transmission oil $90, aircon filter $28 & service throttle body/resetting $70. Total damage $326. The boss & workers there are friendly. I used to go to Riverview but want to give other workshop a try. The boss adviced me to change spark plug & brake pad on 50k servicing. Any feedback is most welcome.

  12. Great day to all, I will like to hear about the negative points about this 1992 Honda Civic LSI (3door) Manual. Kah Motors says no parts, while stockist says got parts, notwithstanding waiting time. So, anyone got horror stories about aircon, electricals etc? Just to sway my buying idea out of the wind...

  22. Encounter with this SFB 3..7 Medium Blue Honda Civic I was turning right from Stagmont Ring, The vehicle on my right side have illegal HID installed, caused extra glare on my already wet windscreen, thus, I could not really see if any pedestrian is crossing the road, so i tap on the brake to slow... slow... because it's raining... I think this prick got irritated by me for me being cautious and being responsible.. Thus, for that small road, he tailgate me very close on this poor visibility and wet road, overtook me on upon approaching left bend on my right where he could hardly see oncoming car. So when his car was coming out behind me halfway, I just gently tap on the brake (with no slowing down and no intention of him colliding onto me), just to give him a scare , he end up got more pissed off, exchanged eye contact and chiong the bend and to stop for the red light in front to. Genius. Raining, drive properly and safely! Although I have been cursing for your car to skid, hit tree, hit barrier, then you might learn how to drive more responsibly.
  23. Sad that Honda discontinued the type-r which means the FD2R and the FN2 http://paultan.org/2010/04/18/honda-to-dis...e-civic-type-r/ http://www.bernama.com.my/bernama/v5/news_lite.php?id=491634 NSX , integra , prelude , delsol , s2000 all those fast car from Honda has discontinued the only hope is the Civic type-r and then they discontinued it..... only left the CR-Z as their sportiest car ..
