  3. Hi bros ... if you know someone driving a black toyota corolla with a number like the above, please tell him *all* his rear brake lights are out. I was behind him going from Paya Lebar to CBD ... so took PIE->KPE->ECP. At first when he brake, I had to react suddenly, so I thought it was my fault, until I realized none of his brake lights were lighting up at all ... so I remained further behind and quite a few cars nearly langar into him (lucky KPE not much traffic, including one range rover who had to slam on the brakes) im just wondering if he didnt realize it .. or was it done purposely? i mean ... from PIE, to KPE i was behind him and watching, not once got brake lights even when he stop ... but the time go ECP i told myself better to stay in front of him ... somemore it was raining and the roads were wet >< if you know of someone with that kind of plate, you can PM me for the full plate no to verify.
  4. Something I found off the internet; http://www.autoblog.com/2013/05/09/2014-to...d/#aol-comments Looks like their engines will be here to stay for a long time!!! Although the interior will probably look the same as the JDM model; http://toyota.jp/corollaaxio/002_p_002/int...ront/index.html Judging from the Yaris, Auris and Rav4 interior design, this is credible.
  5. Hi guys, I'm 24 years old with 5 years driving experience. What would the insurance quote be for the above mentioned car...? I wish to convert it to a legal rental insurance, how much would the quote be too...?
  6. Hi guy, this isn't an orthodox post so I do apologise. A short while back, I was rushing to SGH's A&E for my uncle. In the CTE tunnel near Havelock Road, this black Corolla SGA6104 tried to force his way into my lane when i was passing him, so horned him then went past. Subsequently he raced ahead and tried to play punk multiple times . Unfortunately due to my uncles condition all I could do was to get to the hospital ASAP. If any of you know who this is or where he stays please let me know. I want to go break the f**kers legs.
  7. I'm working Middle East, and rent car is Corolla 1.8A, Dual VVTi, similar Singapore Altis 1.8, in Middle East road condition FC only 11+km/L, 80% express way and speed over 120km/h though Dual VVTi should give better FC, because my civic 1.8M also can give me 12+km/L in Singapore condition has dual vvti owner got same expreience
  8. Guys, Just came upon this link and was a astonished by the Good brand new condition of an AE86 Toyota Corolla that is kept by the owner in Belgium for 25 years and the car look so pristines brand new. Here is the link. Confirm will make those old Toyota Corolla timer droolssss...... http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011/08/06...e-capsule-.aspx
  9. Does anyone know where i can get the Toyota Corolla Altis E120 Mirror as well as how much it'll cost? Just the mirror glass not the entire thing.
  10. I'm intending to get a 2nd hand toyota corolla axio cng model. Anybody owns that car can provide some feedback about the reliability? I heard from my mechanic that a lot of ppl who converted cng had problems 2 years later like stalled engine and dunno what then in the end change back. Is that just because they converted at some alon kuku place or is it just something that happens because cng itself got inherent problems? (i'm guessing the corolla axio model is factory fitted and not converted?) CNG model quite a bit cheaper.... :)
  11. Just sharing my joys... :)
  12. 6 parts in .rar format. Similar to engine components to EP Starlets. http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/156...ta_Corolla.html
  13. Hi fellow MCFians, I'm looking for a white Toyota Corolla AE86 Sprinter Trueno with the same decals as featured in the Initial D movie. Car will be featured in an MTV for Borneo Motors Dinner & Dance themed Movie Extravaganza. It will be a one day photo-shoot event sometime end of this month and I doubt the car needs to be driven much. There will be some remuneration for the job. If you own or know someone who owns the the above mentioned car, kindly give me a call/sms @ 91468636.
  14. TOKYO - Toyota's safety crisis deepened Wednesday as the embattled Japanese giant said it was considering a recall of its Corolla, the world's best-selling car, because of possible steering problems. Toyota also announced that it would fit all new models with a system to cut engine power when the driver steps on the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time, to prevent runaway car crashes blamed for dozens of deaths. The Japanese maker, which is pulling millions of vehicles worldwide due to faulty accelerator and brake systems, said it was now looking into complaints of steering trouble with Corolla models launched since 2009. If there is a defect that affects safety, "we will start recalls," Toyota executive vice president Shinichi Sasaki told a news conference. "We are in the process of investigating." US authorities said this month they were reviewing dozens of complaints about the Corolla - the world's most popular car ever with total global sales of more than 30 million since the first version was launched in the 1960s. There have been reports of the vehicle unexpectedly veering off course at speeds above 64 kilometres per hour. In an effort to restore confidence in its brand, Toyota said its president Akio Toyoda would head a task force to improve quality control and enable the group to respond more quickly to reports of defects. But the Toyota family scion, under fire for his handling of the safety problems, signalled that he would miss a grilling by US lawmakers next week on the mass recalls, sending one of his top North America executives instead. "I am sure they are well equipped to respond well to the questions," he told a news conference, his third this month on the safety issues that have tarnished the company's once-glowing reputation. However, Toyoda - who is notoriously publicity shy and was criticised for being slow to appear in public after the mass recalls went global - added that he would consider appearing before Congress if formally invited to do so. US authorities on Tuesday demanded that the world's largest carmaker hand over documents to prove it did not drag its feet in recalling the vehicles once it learnt about defects that can lead to unintended acceleration. Investigators will probe how the manufacturer learned of the defects in the recalled Toyota and Lexus vehicles and when the problems were discovered, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said. President Barack Obama's Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has vowed "to hold Toyota's feet to the fire" to make sure its cars are safe, but Toyoda denied his company had ever covered up safety defects. "We have not withheld information and we shall not do so in the future," said Toyoda, the grandson of the company's founder. The Japanese giant, which in 2008 dethroned General Motors as the world's biggest car maker, has pledged to fix more than eight million vehicles worldwide, more than its entire 2009 global sales, due to the safety problems. The 2009-2010 Corolla is among the models involved in Toyota's earlier recalls to fix problems with unintended acceleration. The number of complaints alleging deaths related to unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles has surged since the company announced on January 26 it was suspending sales and production of eight models in the United States. According to the NHTSA's website Tuesday, 34 deaths allegedly were caused by the problem, including 13 deaths caused by nine accidents between 2005 and 2010 that were reported since late January. The company faces dozens of lawsuits in the United States alleging Toyota was too slow to act on the problems. Experts say the legal action could potentially cost the company billions of dollars. Toyota's woes are the latest crisis to batter Japan Inc. and its once-glowing reputation for technological prowess. Rival Honda last week recalled more than 400,000 vehicles owing to airbags that it said can explode and spray out potentially deadly metal shards, while Japan Airlines is in the midst of bankruptcy proceedings.
  15. Will it ever stop? Yo, we don't know. And yes, we're quoting Vanilla Ice because... well, at this point in the never ending Toyota tale of woe, why not? Anyhow, there have been 83 complaints about the power steering systems in 2009 and 2010 Toyota Corollas, most of which are claiming that the car will veer to the right or left at speeds over 40 mph. Coincidently, the Corolla is one of the eight Toyota models affected by the production and sales stoppage. The alleged problems have purportedly caused 10 accidents and six injuries. Here's the gist: Complainants have compared the movement to being buffeted by strong winds, sliding on black ice, or hydroplaning. They said that after trying to straighten the car, it can overcorrect -- requiring the driver to use a tight, persistent, two-handed grip on the wheel to travel in a straight line. Of course, you should always have a tight, persistent, two-handed grip on the wheel. That's known as driving. Not that people aren't actually experiencing problems with late model Corollas, but this kinda reminds us of the Seattle Windshield Pitting Epidemic. If you don't know, in the 1950s Seattleites began complaining en masse about pits (or holes) appearing in their windshields. Everything from hoodlums with BB guns to sand flea eggs to a million watt radio antenna to atomic testing were thought to be maybe causing the pitting. Also, shifts in the earth's magnetic field and even gremlins (the fictional creatures, not the AMC product) were blamed. Finally, after a full investigation Seattle Police Sergeant Max Allison announced that the windshield pitting was, "5 per cent hoodlum-ism, and 95 per cent public hysteria." This happened on April 15, 1954. All reports of windshield pitting stopped on April 17. Is this related to reports about the Corolla's power steering ills? More closely than we might think, we think. UPDATE: There might be a little fire under all this smoke. Our friends at AOL Autos have also been reporting on this breaking story, and have discovered this: " notice the steeering wheel sometimes pulses only when my cell phone is...docked to the right of the steering wheel," wrote one Corolla driver in an official complaint on June 26, 2009. "It's strange I can sometimes tell if my Blackberry is going to ring or get an email. The steering wheel seems to shake or try to steer on its own. This is similar to my other 2009 Toyota Corolla that I resold to the dealer. I wonder if more shielding is needed to reduce any interference." If that's the case, we take back what we said about Seattle.

  21. Hi Bros, I have a 10yr old Corolla (model ZZE121R) that has a knocking sound when turning + acceleration. By right it's the CV Joints. But when I checked with the stockists, (Ric Tat / Fong Tat), I understood that this car doesn't have CV Joints sold separately. It's a complete set with the Drive Shaft. Ok but the main problem is that they no longer carry this stock because they said lesser ppl are asking for this already. Does anyone knows how to go about replacing this part? Also, I'm looking for the "door stay" (small mechanism that acts like a absorber to prevent the door from swinging out). Can't find this part from the above 2 shops. But Ric Tat is ordering this in, in about 1-2 mths lead time.
