  1. This Toyota Hiace van deserves to be condemned. Never show basic respect to more superior and higher SES Lexus ES250. 🤪 1 Lexus ES250 can buy 3 Toyota Hiace.
  2. Been a Lexus ES250 owner since 2016 and even thought of trading in to upgrade to a new Lexus. However, after my latest horrifying experience with Lexus, I have reconsidered my plan. On 02 Jan 2024, when my Lexus ES250 had difficulty starting, I requested the assistance of Lexus emergency road service which promptly arrived within 30mins. However this was where the issue arose. The mechanic indicated that the battery was below the required charge level and needed to be replaced which I agreed. I mentioned to the mechanic that the car needed to be first "connected to power" before the existing battery can be disconnected and replaced but he insisted that was NOT necessary and even risky. I even mentioned that this was the second time my car battery had been changed a few years ago and the previous mechanic did what I mentionerd. I had thought that without any power source, all memory setting would be erased and the new battery could cause a power surge to the car's system too. But he insisted his way and hence proceeded to change the existing battery to the newly full-charged battery. Upon completion, all my car's configuration was "reset from the normal" and the interface display unit was totally blanked. The mechanic was surprised and didn't know what to do. Only to tell me to go Lexus Service Centre the next day to resolve. I came to Lexus Service Centre on 03 Jan 2024 @ 0800hrs to address this matter. My car had to be left for at the servicing centre for diagnosis. Later that evening, I was told by the service representative that a component of the interface display unit has failed and needed to be ordered and replaced. This component is the "radio receiver unit" and would cost $30000. I was speechless and shocked ! Lexus Service Centre wanted me to pay $30 000+ for a problem caused by their mechanic and I couldn't accept this. I blasted the service representative and he referred me to their workshop manager, who despite my explanations, wanted to appease me by suggesting a discount of 50% of the repair bill. Obviously I refused. Now that the interface display unit failed, all features are lost. No GPS,Bluetooth,Reverse camera, Radio, Media, climatic control..etc. It is akin to driving with a "crippled" premium car. How can a perfectly operating system be "destroyed" after a simple battery change ? Why did the mechanic allow my car systems to suffer a totally blackout when he removed the old battery without due process of providing power for car ? Wouldn't the car systems' memory be wiped out ? And after the new battery connected, isn't it possible a power surge can cause problem for other components/systems ? After checking with numerous agencies, I found out that the standard procedure of changing battery was not adhered to. Would it be fair for Lexus Service Centre be fully exonerated for such a "demeanour" and me the owner to suffer this injustice ? I have even written to their higher authority and I guess they are playing the delay tactics or simply ignoring my predicament. This is one SCAM I will never forget LEXUS played on me. SIGH !
  3. Alsin 8 Speed also used in Lexus ES250.
  4. Mine is ES250 since 2014 …… have changed the battery at some “ Ah Beng” WS whom does nothing but batteries and tyres ….. Yes he wires up with another battery when in transition to new battery …… Car has Never given me any problems to date and after 3 year warranty….. I just send to an Ah Beng WS …… never changed any parts as at today other than the usual brake pads …. Etc …. Yes of late driver side window glass has got some “rubber muck “ and a little noisy …. I think it’s disintegrating as I open / close drivers window many times a day …: but can bear to live with it …. Got only a few more months to live with “her “
  5. Same impressions test driving the ES250 Makes u wonder how does a big 2.5L engine produce so little power.....
  6. NA car w CVT feels 'relaxed' one Try driving the ES250. U will wonder if some of the horses from the big 2.5L engine are on WFH... Small lightweight turbos paired to efficient DCTs or ZFs are the way to go
  7. Hi all, Am considering ES250 as my next ride. Went for test drive and am very impressed by the drive, the big internal space and the rest of the car. SE shared with me that Lexus moving towards full hybrid range and ES250 will be phased out. There will only be ES300 in the future. Is that true? My current ride is a 7 year 318I. Thanks for the sharing. 🙂
  8. Hi bros, Anyone knows the latest price for es250 and any perks. How many years warrenty and servicing , lastly any good sales consultant to recommend? Many thanks J.t
  9. Gotta be the ES hybrid. Test drove the regular ES250 Luxury b4. Very Toyota feeling. Good or bad depends on one's preferences
  10. Hi bros. Anyone exported a 2014 ES250 can share how much you gotten above paper for it?
  11. Hi, Would like to check who has recently booked the ES250 and what is the price it is negotiable up to. Thanks!
  12. Disclaimer: I don't drive one. But when I test drove ES250 and ES300H back to back, 250's 2.5NA engine felt super sluggish. Interior tech nothing to shout about too. But seats are omg so comfy and plushy. Would go for E-class or A6 at this depre. IMHO
  13. No lah..ES250 no Power..only the Hybrid ES300h is better.
  14. Hihi, Test drove an used unit, as well as brand new at Borneo, for both ES250 and ES300H. For ES250, sorry but the pick-up performance is unacceptable for me. So not gonna comment anymore on this 2.5L NA variant. For ES300H, pick up and cruising is enjoyable with the additional hybrid battery. But a few deal-breakers for me 1. The touch sensor pad and infotainment system - not user friendly and too sensitive. Hard to maneuver esp while driving. 2. Terrible resolution of the reverse cam. 3. The driver instrument cluster seems dated Don't get me wrong, I stil think the ES ia a fantastic looking car, with superb sound insulation and premium cabin quality. I jus feel at this price range, there are many other options to consider.
  15. Should bring back Mazda 929 & badge it as Mazda 9,make it Long Wheel Base, with in line 6 Engine,RWD,selling it at Lexus ES250 Price, then all the German Giants will worried.
  16. Just got my ES250 Executive a couple of days back... chose the non-hybrid version as i prefer the moonroof that comes with blackened roof and shark fin antenna. Initial feel is that this car is super spacious and comfy but slow (although i already know when test drive). Had done more than 500 km since. Anyone had upgraded the stock speakers? From specifications, it has a 10 speaker system but I feel this is the ES250 non-luxury version's weakest link. Why Lexus no apps to monitor vehicle status, send GPS location like the BMW??? Also, the display seems unable to display Chinese characters..... 😁
  17. I am buying one of these, new one from AD for my next 10 years usage, my annual driving is around 18k mileage, seldom do long distance drive. Reliability, how much do i need to set a budget for repair cost (not under servicing and maintenance) for these model typically for 10 years driving. What are the typical problem parts which need repairing? I am not sure how to choose, i am fine with all these car style and handling and electronics. Seeking advices from the many car gurus here, which car is a smart buy? considering cost and maintenance. Thank you.
  18. Hi bros and sis, My current car left 1 year lifespan, so starting to shop around for another car.. im looking at 3 yr old Merc E250 or the Lexus ES250. However, need to ask around for more advice if we compare these 2 models, which is a better option? Im looking at factors such as cabin space, maintenance, FC and reliability. Any advice is appreciated. :) Thx in advance.
  19. E200 Advantgarde or Lexus ES250 which more durable ( less visiting workshop ) and lower cost to maintain ? Most of my friend said European car always comes with high cost like often visit workshop and higher cost to maintain than Japanese made . Prices different by about 30K and which one gives better value ?

Here goes, Daihatsu Charade Honda Civic esi Hyundai Accent Hyundai Getz Hyundai Avante Subaru WRX Hyundai Accent Next car, no plan, because no money. The only car that I didn't modified or played, is WRX, because it has all the power I wanted. I took it to the track once to experience the trill. I lost to all the Malaysian trackies. They were cheap and fast. A full time Engineer who studied the wrong course regretfully and went into a wrong industry, I prefer arts and robotics. So I love to tinker much just about anything, from broken toys to breaking toys when I am young, to photography and on recent many years ago I started to ditch the still pictures and move on to motion pictures ( filming ) as my long term passion. I approached several car magazines and Facebook pages to "beg" for a part time job and hopefully the small income can fund my passion and moving forward to be able to see if I can work on something in the video filming genre to gain more recognition. In person, I am very open minded and straight forward. I can be very blunt and honest in my opinion too. Due to my star sign. LOL. So my post sometimes carries a hate mail .. haha. I give my intro 10/10. Swee ! As to my nickname and logo..that's a twist .. Car Lover Guy or Carl Over Guy , you decide. 21. Lexus now running promo for event cars. Es300H exe at $245K Es250 exe at $225K
  22. Very jialat - recently kena gong tao by the ES250/300 on the road. Yes I know COE is crazy, but it also means that I'm able to sell my current 1YO BMW at $40K higher than my buy price. And get some additional cash back to plough into maybe a 3YO ES.. But of course 2.5L Rd tax and FC is a ongoing cost that has to be factored in. Why Backside so easily itchy.... Sighs.. Any negative feedback abt the car that wil help kill my itch instantly? Lol
  23. Know this post was a few months ago, let me just add my Lexus experience. I own a es250 for 4.5 years and now shopping for a new car S90 A6 ES250, likely buy back Lexus after CNY. my last 4.5 years with Lexus under their 5 years warranty, 1) battery weak before 2 years, during servicing they replace it free 2) before 3 years they replace my headlight under the warranty 3) last serving in Dec 2020 they replace my engine mount for free these 3 replacement are all done by BM own accord when doing full body check up for my car. how reliable you judge but at least BM didn’t act blur and replace stuff when needed under warranty! This is important as agent for Toyota and Lexus
  24. Hello, any es250 owners out here? 2015-2018 model. i am getting around 8km/l on eco mode averagely. 70% expressway personally I find the fc on the high side but would like to have a second opinion on this. Thanks
  25. OMV of ES250 exe is ard 44k. seems like 320i OMV is higher.
