  1. wanna rent one on year end...........for few days anyone knows?? Downtown car rental has only the new ones
  2. I read that it will be released her next month. I find the design attractive. Subaru cars always look ugly to me. I have never driven a Subaru before but since it is made in japan, is the quality good? What about fuel consumption? Any idea how much will the new forester be selling? I dont see many existing Forester on the road too. Hmm.. http://news.windingroad.com/car-buying/sub...-2009-forester/
  3. New 2008 Forester unveiled just this christmas in Japan. Unsure when will MI start selling. http://www.xxxxxxx.com/news/news.php?newsid=734 http://www.subaru.jp/forester/forester
  4. Thursday, April 10, 2008 Subaru Halts Sales Of WRX, Legacy And Forester Due To Engine Issues If you were planning on buying a new Subaru WRX, or any other Subaru using the EJ25 for that matter, you might want to hold off on your purchase for a while... The automaker has received a low number of complaints regarding big-end bearing failure on a small number of brand-new WRX's and has directed dealers to halt all sales until the cause is pinpointed and a remedy, if necessary, is found. The problem only affects turbocharged models using the EJ25, which means that all brand-new Forester XTs, Impreza WRXs and WRX STIs, and Liberty/Legacy GTs built since early January will be affected by the hold up. Given the low number of actual bearing failures (less than 10), some might see the sales stoppage as an extreme reaction by Subaru. We're glad they're playing it safe and doing the right thing by the customer, and although they're shooting themselves in the foot sales-wise it's a move that should hopefully increase buyer confidence in the brand for the long-term.
  5. Hi folks, i'm looking at getting a Forester 2.0X (NA version), but am a little short on information Appreciate any feedbacks and comments from Forester 2.0X owners and who might have any information on it. Many thanks ahead!
  6. Any Subaru Forester Owner in this forum... ? Do you know what size of our Mid speaker @ rear cargo space
  7. Did this forester last weekend, when it came, it seems to have a layer of "haze" on its paintwork. After the usual inspection, i proceeded to do the normal wash and clay. However, this were not as "smooth" as i expected. The paintwork was very grabby, in the sense that the claybar seems to get stuck everywhere, even with the increase in shampoo concentration, it did not help much. In the end, i decided not to waste too much time here and move the car away from the washing bay to my usual detailing spot which is much brighter. Once i shined the halogen on the car, i got a shock. The watermarks i saw initially on the bonnet and roof had not been washed off at all. (Just to clarify, this is not the usual watermarks that had been etched into the paintwork, rather, they are the marks left behind by the rain water mixed with a layer of dust. Or so i though ) Defect 01 Defect 02 For this prob, i decided to try lake country's purple wool foam pad with IP using rotary and the results turned out well. Infact, it looks almost LSP ready except for some very light marrings here n there. Defect 01 after Defect 02 after This step was followed up with using the DA and orange LC pad with PO106FF and the restoration was done. This car however, required up to 3 wool pads and 3 orange pads to restore, quite a bit of washing to be done
  8. Hi to the black forester,S**245** at Liang Court carpark at abt 11pm, Sat 29, 2007. Wondering if it was you who keep blowing your loud exhaust, shd be a fujitsubo if I am nt wrong, from 4th level carpark all the way to the exit. Well, 2 or 3 wedding dinner just ended and its normal to have a small jam at mscp. If its really you, juz wanna ask if there's sumthing wrong with your car? Acclerator got stuck? Hope you din run out of petrol by the time you reach main road. Or leg cramp? If its not you, sorry, I redirect this to the guy who blow non stop.
  9. How do you rate this car.. (out of 10) Comfort - Performance - Road Handling - Storage space - Fuel Comsumption - Overall =
  10. hi bro, what are the pros & cons for these cars? need some advise from you guys, thks.

  12. 1. Test drove the Forester and IMHO, a better choice over Accord 2.4, Legacy 2.0 and Mondeo. Going for about 88k with full accessorices. Turbo Boxer 2.0 177BHP engine, 4WD, Cruise Control, ABS, Conti style steering and 4 airbags. The driving experience is great! Legacy does not have spacious rear cabin and the steering is pretty light, I like a firmer steering. 2. Forester is a spacious SUV, though look more a truck to me. The look is deceiving, it actaully drives like a sedan car. Heard that they may be discontinuing the 2.0T and bringing in 2.5T when the current stock exhausted, may need further confirmation. 3. Not much choice in term of color only, blue, black and sliver. 4. I wonder in term of specs, does it match up with more premium brand like Volvo XC series. 5. Welcome the comments from the current Forester Owner and other constructive comments who don't favour this make too. Thank you. Regards,

  16. In between Honda CRV, toyota RAV4 , Mit Airtrek turbo and subaru forester which would you pick. So far, I only test drive Forester 2.0XT turbo only, generally quite like the car on performance, handling and comfort level, but lack of information on reliability, maintenance cost. In term of look, CRV more modern look . thanks

  20. Any Bros driving the above? wanna hook up?
  21. I have decided to buy the Forester XT which is my second choice after the Saab 9-3 because the 9-3 is NOT $120K as I had thought but $136k plus. The Forester is a fantastic drive - very European but at least one of my friends can't believe I would buy such an ugly car. I don't think it is very pretty but I wouldn't say it is ugly, would you? I have narrowed down to two colours, the silver which makes it look classy or the black which looks fierce and sporty but some say like a hearse. But sometimes I wonder if I should get the Rex which is about $8K more. However, my wife says no to the Rex because of the Ah Beng image (no offence to owners out there)and the Rex would also attract unwanted attention and would get stopped every single time at any road block (not that I am usually out that late at night, really, hee! hee!) My kids love the Forester though. HELP!
  22. I am in the market for a SUV. Test drove all Jap SUVs recently. Forester is the best among all Jap SUVs. But i wonder why there are so many CRVs and RAV4 on the road if Forester is the best? Can someone enlighten me?
  23. Don't think we'd be getting this in Singapore. But it looks pretty nice. The headlights look pretty cool. But the car looks like it has a buldging "forehead". Interior's got nothing to shout about.
  24. Hey guys, any TC drivers here that can recommend a place and a BOV to install? My friend just wants to install for the fun of it, not really for performance or super loud sounds, but audible enough lah Your 2 cents worth appreciated
  25. Hey there, Just thought I post a pix of my car with new 17" alloys shod with Saaber's favourite Kumho but these are the KH11 which is newer than 712. They are luxury performance touring tyres. I feel they are stickier than the 712 around corners (both have AA ratings)which I think is due to the asymmetrical design of the thread. The ride comfort is now a little compromised but still not too hard (225/50R17)from my original 215/60R16. The original all terrain tyres screeched at the slightest push and now my car's handling is even better from being able to corner harder without slowing down (sometimes only lah) to having much less body roll as if there are thicker anti-roll bars. I am however, not too happy with the rim design but they are perfect for my car with the correct offset (48mm -not easily available) to weighing only 8kgs which is lighter than some non forged, branded Jap rims. I weighed it personally at Yap Bros' electronic scales to compare. The alloys are Taiwanese called RM Team.
