  1. I went down to taka and saw the turbo lancer From what i have observed, the differences are: Engine block completely different (to the extend that the positions of batteries and intake are all different) It comes with a strut bar Its lower then normal lancer 16" rims vs 15" rims Interior: It comes with a double din HU Steering has buttons to control volume i think Meters are compelety different Tip tronic Gear ( gear shifter is also different, looks like manual but is auto) Recaro Sports seat, no leather for this one Glass seems darker / tinted Rear Wiper Beneath the bonnet, there is a heat dispensser clothe thingy that the original lancer doesnt have. The body is exactly same Ps, i drive a Lancer 03 normal. I took a pic of the engine of the turbo, but dunno where to upload...
  2. Due to my new job which is based in the city, i hardly have a chance to drive anymore. Therefore i'm thinking of selling my car and buying a used off peak car instead. Whats the expected price i should get and any recommended dealers to sell to for better prices? Some info Lancer Glx 1.6A Grey (Apr 07) COE Open cat 13.2k but tagged to Cat A about 12k+++ OMV 11.1k+
  3. Hi to all bros, As per topic, should I sell my lancer EX? My lancer EX 1.5GLS is 1yr8mth old (Non sports edition, basic model, don't even have sports rims and leather seats). I bought it cheap when COE was just $2 and now a few irritating dealers are offering me $52k +/- and haunting me to sell them my car because I approached them for a quote few weeks ago. Thing is, I am half hearted because I kinda fall in love with my car already after 1 yr plus with it. Ive been taking such good care of it (polish every few months, wash myself every week, servicing it at agent etc) and I get decent milage/comfortable ride in return. With all the controversy on the upcoming proton Inspira taking the form of the Lancer EX, coupled with me starting to set my eyes on the facelift Forte Koup, I am wondering now weather I should take the plunge and go for it. Initially I was considering the Sirocco but decided against it because I do not want to be financially tied down by the car by taking a loan. My dad will also be against me buying the Roc so I guess the Forte Koup would be my next best choice. I do not have much criteria in a car, still a young chap with no family of my own so 2dr, 4 dr, fast, slow, anything goes as long as its decent to my eyes haha. Thanks for ur input in advance
  4. Hi can i check what is your idling rpm for Lancer ex 1.5, i dont know if mine is low or not, its at 680 - 700rpm when idling in D mode.
  5. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_...re.php?SpecCode[]=3100&SpecCode[]=1040 is there some error in the ad. the lancer ex ralliart as stated has a worse fuel consumption then the evo x?
  6. hi guys, i'm getting my first executive car (been driving Honda occasionally). And is having a hard time considering between these (auto or steptronic): 1) Mazda 3 2) Subaru Impreza 4D 3) Mitsubishi Lancer EX Which of these do you guys recommend for me? I dun mind slow pickup, main thing is style, safety, comfort, cheaper maintainance (and spare parts), and the ability to drive all the way up to 10 years. Once i get something, i like to hold on to it forever. Alternatively, i'm also considering these two: 1) Hyundai Avante 1.6A S 2) KIA Cerato Forte But always heard from friends that korean cars are not so good.... If can cut costs to get same features, i dun see why not though...

  18. My friend got a glx sports (OPC) to sell. It's quite new and run 10K only but dealers gave her radiculas price. She got upset and turned to me to help. I'm thinking of recommend sgcarmart to her but it would be a daunting task for her to manage the AD and phone calls from strange persons. Any good idea? btw, she got her a new camry recently due to the low price and thus need to sell the OPC. She & her family seldom uses the car though.
  19. Sometimes I wish I have a wagon. So much of convenience when you need to carry additional items when out shopping, or moving house. So far I've only seen Evo wagons in Sg. Was just wondering, are we able to purchase the Lancer wagon via AD or PI? Special indent? Same for some other models which are not listed by AD and PI, are we able to make special indent/request for them? http://mitsubishiways.blogspot.com/2008/08...-lancer-sw.html

  21. Source: Mitsubishi Cars For 2004, Lancer Evolution buyers may opt for leather front Recaro® seats, and they may opt for a 315-watt Infinity® sound system, complete with subwoofer. A limited number of brave souls may also opt for the latest trim level, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution RS. If the lightweight, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive Lancer Evolution was not the right car for you, then the Lancer Evolution RS is even less right. But for racing purists, compact car tuners and hard-core driving enthusiasts, the best bang-for-the-buck sports sedan just got better. Thanks to numerous weight-saving measures, the Lancer Evolution RS tips the scales nearly 150 pounds lighter than the Lancer Evolution. Its featherweight status notwithstanding, the RS has also been blessed with quicker reflexes: a front helical-type limited slip differential and a rear crossbar help to improve the handling of one of the world's best-handling automobiles. "Lancer Evolution RS reflects the essence of high-performance value," said Finbarr O'Neill, co-chairman and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA). "We've boiled the cost-per-thrill ratio down to its lowest conceivable point, providing tuners and racing enthusiasts with more of what they need, and less of what they don't." Less is More When the difference between winning and losing can be measured in tenths of a second, the difference between the 3,321-lb Lancer Evolution and the 3,175-lb Lancer Evolution RS becomes significant. To achieve a curb weight lower than the already-lean Lancer Evolution, the Lancer Evolution RS sheds several non-essential items. Most notable from outside, the RS is not bedecked with the Lancer Evolution's distinctive rear wing spoiler. The high-intensity discharge headlights also were deleted, as was the rear window wiper. Inside, RS drivers must make do without an air conditioning system or an AM/FM/CD audio system. There are no power mechanisms for the windows, locks, or side mirrors. Trunk compartment trim has been removed, as have vanity mirrors, rear assist grips, map lamps, and the parking brake lever's leather covering. An antilock brake system is not available. There are also fewer color choices; the Lancer Evolution RS is available in Rally Red or Weightless White. A Differential Difference The Lancer Evolution RS doesn't compromise performance, whether performance is defined as straight-ahead acceleration or exit speed out of an apex. Higher performance is achieved in part by lowering the vehicle's mass, but the RS is also better equipped to handle lateral motion, thanks to the addition of its front limited slip differential. This helical limited slip differential (LSD) takes the place of the Lancer Evolution's open front differential, giving the RS mechanical front and rear differentials that split power delivery between their respective left and right wheels, and a center differential that splits the power between front and rear. The front differential's helical design provides it with smooth operation and superior responsiveness. Small in both size and weight, the helical unit does not require special oil or additional maintenance. Helical-type limited-slip differentials offer several advantages over the clutch-type or viscous LSDs. Viscous limited-slip units tend to wear out after extended use, as their oil is heated and reheated until it degrades, rendering the unit ineffective. Clutch-type differentials provide good off-the-line traction, but the 50/50 stability that's beneficial in a straight line is not so desirable when a vehicle is turning. The helical-type limited slip provides better durability and performance when it's needed most: while turning. Unlike an open differential, which shifts power to the wheel with less grip, the helical LSD constantly shifts the bias toward the wheel that has more traction. Under straight-line acceleration, power remains evenly split between the front wheels. While cornering (e.g. accelerating out of a turn), the helical LSD directs power away from the inside wheel and toward the outside wheel, allowing the driver to begin accelerating earlier and exit the turn at a higher speed, without losing traction in the process. Performance is also improved on slippery mud or snow that's often encountered on isolated dirt roads, where the Lancer Evolution series spent much of its development. Curb Weight: 3175 lbs Layout: Front-Engine/AWD Transmission: 5-Speed Manual Engine Type: Turbocharged Inline-4 Displacement: 1997 cc Horsepower: 271 bhp @ 6500 rpm Torque: 273 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm Redline: 7000 rpm

  23. New Proton Inspira: The Malaysian Lancer Officially Launched! Proton has officially unveiled its Mitsubishi Lancer-derived Inspira mid-sizer, after its soft launch to the public and media in late October. Since then Proton has received over 1,800 bookings from customers around Malaysia in anticipation of its market launch this month. The new model is the result of an OEM collaboration (the word "rebadge" sounds nastier...) between PROTON and Mitsubishi Japan, the latter providing the mechanical and design basis and the former tweaking the model for the Malaysian market. Among those changes are the signature Proton grille and -according to the Malaysian company- the incorporation of Lotus DNA in the Inspira's ride and handling. Dato' Sri Mohd. Nadzmi Mohd, the Chairman of Proton parent corporation Proton Holdings Berhad, explains: "PROTON is ready to move even further ahead to become a recognised player in the global automotive industry. We have been working and collaborating with Mitsubishi for the last 25 years and its a natural step forward for us to continue to work with them in this project. One of our product strategy is to introduce non-core models through strategic collaborations which provides a more efficient, timely, and cost effective product to the market. The Proton Inspira is an excellent example of this strategic collaboration." Proton Holdings Berhad's Managing Director Dato' Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir is equally enamoured with the new model: "The enormous level of interest shown since we first announced the introduction of the new model is certainly a big sign of approval from car buyers. PROTON would like to thank all those who have placed a booking for the Inspira and believe me, they will not be disappointed with the new generation of Proton cars coming their way."The Inspira uses Mitsubishi's existing 1.8 and 2.0 Liter MIVEC engines, the latter of which is only available with the CVT transmission. Scroll down for the image gallery that includes pictures from the official brochure and a video from the presentation.
